- Fast food menus can sometimes have some sprawl, with burger joints branching out to include chicken, fish, breakfast dishes and other oddities that you may not expect. But just because you like one thing at a fast food place doesn't mean you'll like everything.
At Hardee's, not everything on the menu is equally worth buying - that's why we went through and exhaustively taste tested 23 popular menu items to see what comes out on top, and what we think is worth avoiding.
Will the winner be something unexpected like the Beef Taco Salad? Or is Hardee's best offering something more along the lines of the Western Bacon Cheeseburger? Follow along as we break down these popular Hardee's menu items, ranked worst to best.

Sad. Use to be like a Wendy's. Minus the Frosty shake Wendy's isn't that bad.
The fried Chicken, Biscuits, Mashed potatoes and gravy, Cole Slaw and Peach Cobbler was so good back in the 1990's and early 2000's.
Probably my second favorite meal of theirs (second only to their burger combos with the curly fries).

Yes it is! I just ate a Mushroom and Swiss. Not sure why it wasn’t mentioned. The Frisco Burger is pretty good too.

Have you guys lost your collective minds. The omelet biscuit with extra cheese is amazing. And of coarse Cinnamon rolls are supposed to be sweet! There’s no such thing as too much cinnamon or too much sweetness to cinnamon roll! Matter of fact, that’s the point
They were good a long time ago. Now they just seem to have lost their way like so many other fast food joints.
There good but it seems like compared to the big ones like mc Donald’s, BK, Wendy’s. Hardee’s almost seem like a afterthought. There never busy plus some restaurant don’t carry some foods. Like the taco salad and them.
You totally failed to mention the delicious Hardee's mushroom and swiss burger. This sandwich gets and A+++.

Unfortunately, where I live most of the hardeez have all closed. When I was growing up, especially I got into my high school years, I used to love their sunrise biscuits. They were, these biscuits but with a cinnamon roll flavor and raisins in them with icing dripping over the side. Also, I used to love their frisco breakfast sandwich. I usually got bacon egg and cheese. Wow, this brings back some good memories for me.
I respectfully disagree with the person who did this video, that was one of the things if I didn’t get there for breakfast, that I loved was there hot ham and cheese sandwich.
Hardee's used to do fried chicken that was way better than KFC. They also used to have a peach cobbler desert that was really good. I hated it when those items left the menu. My favorite thing now is the Frisco Burger and the Steak Biscuit.
They used to have a killer spicy chicken sandwich too.
They still do in some locations. The hardees right by my house still sells fried chicken with all the sides. I’m in Wilmington NC. Not sure if they still have peach cobbler.

I haven’t lived near a Hardee’s in about 20 years but I agree about the chicken. I wasn’t much of a burger person but I loved their fried chicken.
I quit eating at Hardee’s when they discontinued the Little Thick Burger. Nothing else in the menu that I want or compares. That means I don’t eat fast food at all as this was my only indulgence.
Their Frisco burgers are wonderful!
I've been pretty disappointed with our Hardee's. When the big hardees burger came out it was a struggle. Sometimes only one piece of meat, sometimes no cheese. Last time only a teaspoon of sauce. Sometimes the breakfast biscuits are hard no matter what time you order. Last time the biscuit crumbled and fell out the wrapper when I unwrapped it.
The hardies by me always looks like it’s closed. Food not bad but it’s a hit and miss with there shakes. They do have good cookies

There was a time Hardees had a mushroom swiss burger that was the best I have ever eaten but, alas, they no longer offer that which is why I no longer go to Hardees.

They used to have a Turkey Club and a Pork- T that was amazing too. They have changed a lot over the years for sure.

I LOVE the Chicken Biscuit with egg and cheese, their Cinnamon Rolls and their Frisco Burgers!! I haven't had them in over 20 years! I wish there was a Hardee's in my city!!
Had a hardees where i used to live. It only lasted a few months & after tasting it a couple times, i could see why.
Frisco burger is my favorite.
I love their fish sandwich and their gyros. Hate that they quit selling the potato cakes.

I get the breakfast platter all the time. Don’t judge me but I usually pay extra to get both sausage and bacon. I definitely agree about the eggs but if you put enough hot sauce on them they are ok.

In 1972-75 When I was at NAS Cecil Field, Hardee's was a favorite. Here where I reside Carl's Jr. their Regular Cheeseburger is my favorite.
Hardee's and Carl's Jr. need to just merge already and become Hardee's Jr.

I used to love their chicken sandwich, mushroom and swiss, and bacon cheeseburger from the 1980s. They used a pentagon shaped burger that was the best tasting burger i have ever had. Once carl’s jr took over, the brand went to shit. Still love hardees unique sausage. Best tasting in the industry

The Friso Angus burger is just a rip-off of Jack in the Box's Sourdough Jack. The only time I ever ordered one from Hardees they didn't even toast the bread.

All I can say is when I made chicken for them back in the day they I was told to never wash it. Straight from the bag (with blood) to the flour to then batter to the grease. Js
CDC says to not wash it, more likely to spread contamination....but I used to make chicken for them back in the day too.

The hardies by me most times looks like it’s closed as u see light on but no people plus sometimes forget to turn on the sign and such. Food wise they are good but one by me doesn’t carry a hot dog any more. Plus hardies got rid of there $4-6 meal plans that had different things plus fries and a cookie. One thing they have isn’t bad is the small chicken sandwich which is in line for the Mc chicken. Milk shakes by the one near me is a hit and miss. But there cookies are good

Some items on this list are not available at all locations I noticed. As to your choices, I love the big hot ham and cheese as it is, no need for adding on. The Monster Thickburgers are better than the others you list. The roast beef sandwich is no longer very good as in the last year they changed the roast beef supplier (confirmed my local Hardee's manager) and it's not good at all. I also find the lettuce they use better quality than McD or BK. Don't forget not everyone automatically orders their food with just the standard add-on's as well.

We have Carl’Jr in California (still Hardy’s). I feel they’ve slipped. This seems minor, but they changed the lettuce to something NOT crisp and with an oddly alfalfa taste. Very bitter. The lettuce is now only for appearance but does nothing for taste and texture. Onion rings are not great. The Famous Star used to be go to burger. Making trips to In N Out more and more.
You need to look around at the menu, and try to buy what will make you happy about what you’re eating,so that when you’re done,if meal was great you’ll tell everyone ,and bad too .
Used to eat the cheeseburgers, but I figured out their meat has a bad odor as well as taste. About the only thing I can still eat is their biscuits and gravy , tator tots and hot Apple pies. Sausage patties are just to greasy to consume.

Your #1 pick is a very disappointing sandwich. There was so little honey on mine, I couldn't even taste it, and the waffle had no crunch, so all I had was a very salty, doughy sandwich. My faves are the Famous Star and Western Bacon Cheeseburger. I find the breakfast biscuits disappointing because there's just too much breading. I paid for eggs, meat and cheese, and while I love biscuits, I just don't like them this way.
Hardee's in Durant Oklahoma turned into a Carl's Jr and I don't like it and wish it was still Hardee's! I miss Hardee's and miss their turkey club sandwich! Can't stand Carl's Jr!

The Red/Green Burrito stuff is my least favorite. They need to quit trying Mexican food, and go back to what made them great in the 80's and 90's- great tasting food like fried chicken, roast beef, big cookie, hamburgers, salads, etc.

wow you are not from the south we like sweet we like meat there burgers are real angus beef id rather have that then some crappy burger with caramel and artificial fillers. all there ingredients are fresh as well and dont even start on their biscuits probably best then anywhere else, seems your very biased
Hardee is nasty! If you want a fresh burger, go to five guys. I will never eat at McDonald's, Burger King, or Hardee again. They are overpriced, and they cook you burgers and put them in a warming drawer.
Nearly every menu item reviewed here has somewhat of a "thmbs-down" (such as): if it only had, or it would be better if, or it has too much of, or.... well.... you name it, and where the heck is the Mushroom and Swiss Burger?....
