4:21 even the Rooster is helping 😂😂😂
He is the supervisor 😂
I don't know why but I wasn't notified of the last 8 episodes. Guess I'll be binging for a few hours. I love your videos. It reminds me of home. (Hagerstown MD). I want to move back soon and get enough land to garden.
It's so crazy how UA-cam does that! Hagerstown is some beautiful country! Something so special about the hills and hollers that keeps calling you home! 💕
Cute Rooster 😍
Oa is a real sweetheart except to Kaja sometimes. He likes to peck her in the butt!
@@AlleghenyHomestead😂😂😂, you didn't a giant woman angle in this video 😭😭😂❤️
@tombradley2263 🤣 🤣
I love your channel
Aww thank you, Debbie! ❤
I'm in the Allegheny lowlands (NW PA). My potatoes (Russet & Yukon Gold) have just emerged. I planted them mid-to-late March. I was worried about some of the light freezes we had, because I'm growing in hay. But they seem to be doing alright. Looks like your potato patch will well!
Hello neighbor! How do you like growing them in the hay? Never tried that. Hope you have a bountiful harvest!
@@AlleghenyHomestead so far so good. I have an abundance of hay, and my soil is the heavy clay you'd expect for this area so the hay method is seemingly very economical. Unfortunately, I've noticed the hay is welcoming to snails and slugs. I've been trapping them and doing manual population control - I need to get chickens! - so that's definitely a downside. I'm not sure I'd grow in hay again without some help with the snails and slugs (i.e. chickens, ducks, etc.).
All someone has to do is look at you to see Manuel labor does a body good because yours is amazing. Sorry if that’s offensive.
Also the place is looking great. Love the garden.
Thank you for the compliments 😊 Hard work and good food go a long way!
7:57 We'd love to hear some cello (from a fellow "used to be" cello player).
So is it the mister or misses who was the cellist? If I can ever get over my "cello stage fright" 😅 I'll definitely share some of my playing!
That would be mister PFO channel. I played violin for decades, mostly at church. (You don't really ever get over the stage fright.) Started alternating with the cello several years ago. Arthritis in my fingers has caused the music to be more like noise, lately, so I haven't played either of them publicly for a couple of years.
Looks like a plentiful garden this year. Do yoiu "hill" the potatoes and if so when?
Here's for hoping! 🙏🏼 I always have hilled in the past but not sure if I will again this year or not. There seems to be mixed opinions on how much extra crop you can actually gain. What I really need to do to experiment is hill half and leave the other half alone for a couple years in a row and compare results. Generally, I hill them when they're tall enough that I can bury the bottom sets of leaves decent enough to be worth the effort. I think the general rule of thumb is to hill them when they are something like 8 inches tall, but I just eyeball them to decide.
