Its the same as owning a $40,000,000 house. You have to pay taxes. you don't own the island. You have to abide by the governments law who oversee the island.

Because of this mispronunciation an airline booked a couple on a flight to Spain instead of Grenada, imagine their emotions when the flight was taking longer than expected.

don't forget the drones and google earth ,.. No where is safe from other eyes..
Not to mention mosquitoes. If it’s tropical and hot it’s probably full of mosquitoes, spiders, and a bunch of other bugs that will take bites out of you. Enjoy. A lot of these islands have heavy tree infrastructure. So unless the person is running on the open beach google earth won’t see them.

How i wish i am super rich, but if i can buy an island i just want a simple one. Small island big enough to fit a normal house and a small garden. The most important thing to an island is its safety specially during typhoons, hurricanes and high tide. And it should be complete i mean every thing you need must be in it so you do not need to go to the Main land to buy stuffs like that.

Well those are super expensive indeed. The wellness and luxury condo units I'm selling in Ortigas business district have the highest price at just over $1M. Whew, it's like nothing compared to those who are multimillionaires who can buy any of those expensive islands.

caye chapel. i keep the palm trees and white sand and the some more green lawn and trees. it must just look green. change those four seasons houses they look very old. one long nice track so that i can floor my cars. add some luxury boats and jet skis

My question is who sells the island.... the country?
They are 'private islands', so the previous owners are looking to sell. Well at least the ones that have been built on, the others maybe as you say the local government is perhaps trying to raise revenue.

@@georgieorgy5589 some bought them cheaper years ago, others have them as a
family heritage, specially those islands which once where part of an european powerfull country. For example many of the islands in the filipines and around use to be Spanish territory or Portuguse, then most where sell to the UK, and specially the US, or got their independece, yet some of them had already people living there or having titles attached to the territory in some way, so they changed state property but not private property, after that when countries forced imperialistic activities of other countries to stop, some got absorved by small countries as a national territory but others remained private being the heirs of the original colonist family the actual owner.
Some were selled after to investors, or countries, some which were public property of the countries were given as a gift to ciertain political personalities as faviours or present, etc. So they were many ways this islands got into private hands, more recently investors have manage to buy them to small poor states for lots of money and with plans to make profit aftwards, like creating resorts, hotels, private houses etc.
