I can’t imagine the incredible amount of man hours, travel and labor it took to build that place in the middle of nowhere. The $35M price tag doesn’t sound so bad when you consider that mega yachts can go for 10-20x that and still be a fraction the size.

I'm pretty sure they'll say they have families to take care and mouths to feed when you stop giving them money and use it as a guilt-free excuse. While you have money, sure they'll be around but you are not entirely happy because you know in the back of your mind, they could be just plotting how to take money from you.
So yeah, it's not money that gets you friends and family. FAKE and temporary family and friends, yes.

I actually just came from Little Exuma and our tour guide said that the Bahamas are nicely protected by other islands that take the brunt of the hurricanes (DR, PR, Haiti).
Only.defense is money. They obviusly bought this for income property to cater to ultra wealthy. Im.guessing 25.000 night. Retirement plan less work and tax haven.
Being in the middle of nowhere and being extremely wealthy people. I would have had a safe room/house built on the island before taking residence. A safe room from when anyone decides to land on your island and hold you up or kidnap you, ( seriously who will you call if they do 911?) and also something strong enough to withstand hurricanes and tsunamis . I am sure they could have had a nice one built for a couple of million

Sisters friend's home and others damaged on that private island and a neighbors home destroyed.
You can see a video clip of Marsh Harbour of a helicopter flying and when they get to Scotland Cay.. You see the damage..and friends pink/white house standing..neighbors home obliterated.
Neighbors house had just been sold weeks prior...😪
Scotland Cay doesn't have much greenery left on satellite views if you Google it.
I couldn't live on and island as beautiful as the waters and areas are. Too isolated.. And shopping expensive.
Florida living is more my speed.. Lol

The location of this property is out of this world. More beautiful and unique than some of the locations of the leading hotels of the world. Very serene and peaceful, a tropical oasis, a tranquil place in heaven. I have been to the Exuma's on numerous occasions and yes the water is absolutely turquoise. I am sure the power couple is very happy there. What an achievement.
What a beautiful location and the property is stunning. The price tag is fair for what you get. If I had a spare $35,000,000 I would be very happy to live there.
You'd have to be crazy to buy it, or so rich that you would be ok with throwing away $35 mil on a property you would never be able to sell on. Rising sea levels will see this property underwater in 10 years tops.

I'm the paranoid type. When I see something secluded like this, my mind instantly think about home invaders, pirates, kidnappers, etc. 😬
It's far enough from the mainland that piracy is possible.
I would worry more about a tropical storm and getting stuck.

Very beautiful (loved the attention to detail - carved to look like curtains, etc). They did an an amazing job developing the island. It’s the perfect place for a honeymoon or for spending alone time together (couple or family).

Friend of a friend actually owns a private island off Abaco in the Bahamas. The two homes were mostly destroyed during Hurricane Irma. Three + years later they are almost finished rebuilding house #1. Too much of a hassle for my taste.
I was thinking the same thing. They may have had damage from one hurricane, did repairs, weighed the costs of another hurricane and then listed the property.
You aren't the only one to consider storms, and they certainly didn't just "forget" about the possibility of storms on these islands.
It is all planned into the designs - and they understand the risk AND they clearly are willing to put up any $$ for the required repairs if a particularly bad storm hit.
If they spent $35M on a property they probably barely visit, they have the resources to fix it.

Don't feel that way! The Bahamas has lots of Palm Trees in forests, and whats even better, Coconut Trees, that can give you the same effect and Coconuts...both are free. Bring your family and come on down!

Worked hard all my life starting at 9 yrs old when the old man couldn't figure out which head to think with, my mother his sister, who adopted me always said you don't work you don't eat! Worked and took care of her in her late yrs, now that I'm old and didn't have time for kids, stage 4 colon cancer has left me broke and living out if my car. Some people don't know how good they have it. Remember, one tragic health situation for the average American is a game changer.
I'm so sorry. Hopefully our country will wake up one day...

I actually got to see their home on a tour in Exuma 4 years ago (from the water on our way to other islands. It was stunning, but seeing all of it is jaw dropping gorgeous!!😍 Definitely the dreamy look I would go for if I had that kind money.

This island is for sale, if their Nashville home hasn't sold it will still be on the market too. Seems like a lot of entertainers homes are up for sale. Money may not buy happiness, but it makes a lot of things in go smoothly. People with money also live a little longer due to lower stress levels. Tim and Faith have a solid marriage which is good to see in country music.

It's cheap to get an island in relative terms. Where the money starts costing is matinenece bc everything has to be flown in. Every person that wrks there has to be flown or boated in. It possibly cud be in the millions if u get to extravagant. I bet that island is 1. 2 to 3 million to maintain

As usual, when considering real estate the cons could be more important than the pros and that goes doubly with this beautiful island. Some of the negatives would have to be: 1- Storms and bad weather, distance from health care, distance from everything, security concerns, staffing costs, the need to take a plane to get closer to everything, insects and animals, suitability for kids and family members, the added cost of food and supplies, and other problems. So, it is quite possible that having your own island may be a better idea as a second, or third, or part-time residence.
For the price of foot of all those palm trees being shipped to Florida, they should’ve invested another $2.13 per palm tree and purchased coconut trees, it would be awesome if that island produced some kind of food or fruit. Coconuts would be perfect! Especially if you had 500 coconut trees that would be amazing!
They are coconut trees - they’re called palm trees but it’s not the palm plant..
Listening to the guy explain those extras had me wondering. The 2 generators, what do they run on? Solar, Diesel, Gas or Natural Gas? The 64k tank has reverse osmosis system but what's the water source? Rain catchment, an AWG or a desalinization system? For a private island these things are important information. Overall, beautiful property.👌💎👑🔥

The overhead is millions per year. And many wealthy would become bored with the same scenery after a few months.
