I've developed an appreciation for the Grateful Dead with time. Their music isn't as much about writing phenomenal songs or anything that can be described as flashy. More than anything else, the Dead is an exploration of sounds and sonic textures and positive vibes. Their music is something that can be easily visualized (very round and colorful, just like psychedelic visuals); much like the psychedelic experiences that inspired it, sound and sight are seamlessly combined in the Dead's music.
Glad you finally got on the bus, but as others have noted, the Dead DID write phenomenal songs, which were the basis for their musical excursions. Friggin' newbie:)

When you've seen beyond yourself then you may find Peace of mind is waiting there And the time will come when you see we're all one And life flows on within you and without you ..." the feeling that he experienced when dead created this music and the feeling you get when you listen to him. The transcendence of feelings is God. Even you don't believe in it. It is in all of us. But you won't believe me and I won't either. God is a very polluted word now. Try to replace it with your own feelings and make a word for yourself which can resembles your feelings. After all God is just a sound that is guised in the ideas but we really don't know what it is. even though we have to desire to put it in a limitation of words which itself created by us.

No doubt... back in the day I used to collect sheets of blotter for an artist named Mark McCloud who made collages out of the sheets. He did shows around the world and eventually Interpol got the US Feds to come after him... The trial transcript is itself a work of art. He got off (see what I did there...) arguing correctly that the use was artistic and he also had "vanished" the lsd with UV light. But the battle between prankster spirit and THE MAN was epic! And all that fun would never have been possible if it weren't for the Good Ol' Grateful Dead.

These make life better. First one has been played dozens of times in its entirety at my place. Thanks for the work.
"These make life better." Indeed. We are truly blessed to have the Grateful Dead. Something so right happened in the universe to make this happen.
I read Sri Isopanasad while listening to this, it is a unique experience and I hope it helps the band.
There is nothing better then music
2:30:00 - 2:47:00
Next time you need more storage let me know and I will personally buy you a hard drive as long as these mixes keep coming
I do like the "San Francisco" sound. That was the era that made the rest of it possible. Thanks for putting this together for us.
Best organic jam band ever. Thanks for this, saves me a lot of search and edit! Requiem for the boomers dream.
Man, I remember going to this concert. Good times!✌
Bro this is like twenty different concerts
When this starts, my first impulse is always to rise and begin moving - dancing. Which I do, often, but sometimes I'm working at my desk so I let it ease me into the focus required to do my job with joy, and the music carries me to an effortless feeling of satisfaction. Thank you for putting these jams together so well; your generosity is so very appreciated!
you deserve some kind of award for sharing this indescribable music compilation.
Thanks for taking the time to seam all of this together. I was going to ask you about the dates, but you answered that already, so I will just have to enjoy this while perhaps periodically finding the actual dates, which makes it just that more interesting. Music is great! God Bless.
Exquisite background. Really take me back.
Boomerbelts early beach day 6:30 am, laying down at the beach on an incredible sunny morn, listening to Dark Star being played by Jerry n The Boys, but this DS is so different quick paced with great acoustics, probably no LSD, lol, but its flowing with excitement like a roller coaster ride, once again The Dead eating up time with a calculated melodic flow of space and ear piercing sound❤️
thanks for putting this together excellent stuff
WOW! ~ I'm loss for words! ~ All I can say is, WOW! ~ And THANKS!, to whoever put this together.
I discovered and listened to your 71-83 compilation and thought it was fantastic. So stoked to be listening to this one! Thanks so much for deadicating the time to put these together.
Brilliant and enlightening from the start. 5hrs of enjoyment, feels good in da summer time..
Thank You🌹 very very much for putting this together.🌹 This is my go to for relaxing and taking in the day. There where a lot of amazing things taking place while these different pieces of music where brought together. Its good that you have taken the time to carefully put all this together. We all know that Jerry is smiling knowing that it lives forever with the people.💀🌹
This has completely changed my life, as I'm sure it has for many others
What's that....? Shoving cigarettes up your nose ...
@@helbitkelbit1790 it’s a meme from Google ya goof
You Will be Changed after 5 hours of the best Jams ever. Now go hotbox a Van with blue smoke.
Love the GD, the music is healing, it should be mandatory for all of our politicians to ingest a psychedelic while listening to this.
Nixon was into acid sessions...usually at camp david.
The Dead has saved my soul, mind and body countless times. Nothing will ever match it.
Wharf Rat got me to sober up 22 yrs ago, saved me too!!!
Take the next step and find Jesus. 🤞
Mine too I can't listen to nothing else
Yup! Me too 😊
Thank you for these listening treasures!
gotta say these jam mixes are my saving grace, as the intense lockdown isolation is taking a toll in my brain, meditating with this on the bg is brining great results for my peace of mind, thank you for your work
these are wonderful transitions into other jams, thank you for creating this
This is truly a sick mix! Primal dead at its best! You sir are a saint of all saints!
Thank you. This is true kindness.
Thank you for your efforts. I really enjoy the selection and quality of your cuts. Good balance and equalization--John
ABSOLUTELY MARVELLOUS!..THANK YOU!
I like this too. To me, it is nice to listen to them when they still sounded like a local San Francisco band. I like their newer, maybe I should say more recent work too, especially 1983, but this earlier music really show their roots to me. Thanks.
So much appreciation for your work. This is some of the best creations in existence :) Love from Sweden!
This is so good. Thank you.
Oh hell yeah! Happy New Year!!! Found this at 1AM, would've came in real handy at 8PM, n saved a lot of wrassling with a writhing remote. Next time!! Thank you thank you THANK YOU, o mighty greatefuldeadosaurusrex!
Keep this shit up! Thank you for your help in this time of crisis. Music heals the soul ✌
"heals the soul?" Aye, that it does ....
Just took some shrooms. Thanks for providing the soundtrack to my journey!
Well these two years passed quickly! Oddly enough in the same place again without forethought
Great listening while in front of my computer. Also, I frequently pick up one of my guitars and jam along.
this is more than music, it is life creation at the beginnings
This reminds me -
"We were talking about the space between us all
And the people who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion
Never glimpse the truth
Then it's far too late
When they pass away
We were talking about the love we all could share
When we find it, to try our best to hold it there with our love
With our love, we could save the world, if they only knew
Try to realise it's all within yourself
No one else can make you change
And to see you're really only very small
And life flows on within you and without you
We were talking about the love that's gone so cold
And the people who gain the world and lose their soul
They don't know
They can't see
Are you one of them?
When you've seen beyond yourself then you may find
Peace of mind is waiting there
And the time will come when you see we're all one
And life flows on within you and without you ..."
Much love to all the Heads out there
RIP G.H.
1:40:00 to about 1:45:00, pure magic. I can't help but smile through that passageway. Phil picks it up about a minute and a half in.
Thank you so much for this goodness💖
If god doesnt exist, who made this and upload? This is just priceless !
Oh, this is perfect.
Needed this sonic balm. Thanks so much for sharing.
I don't believe in a god, but may he or she bless you for uploading this gem.
I agree Jack, heavenly, from a Garforth , England 'Deadhead' . Wish I knew how to store this on my smartphone
Quite literally one of the most moronic things I've read.. But, I agree with you..
@@slatsstrong5418 Moronic, but you agree. Now THAT is Zen. 😂
the feeling that he experienced when dead created this music and the feeling you get when you listen to him.
@@aek12 i met god before so i dont doubt the existing part anymore but the answers to mankinds questions were conveyed to me in a sense of feeling i wont begin to describe.. funny enough i was thinking the other day if jerry garcia ever pondered the fact he was given such a gift as to be jerry garcia then the thought escaped but yes i share what know with you literally without shoving it on you of course.
The opening Dark Star is 10-12-68, best primal Dead show
Thank you ❤
3/29/2020 what a great day listening to this.
Phenomenal. Thank you.👍🕺🌌
I appreciate your efforts so much. As others are saying, this is great work music, but also is meditative. This opens up long moments as I listen to it. The sound is so clean I feel that I'm in the room!
just pure concentrated music sent right into the ears
Love the blotter paper back ground slowly moving down
Excellent!
This is sublime.
Its awesome 🎵🎼. I been listening to them at bed time.
LSD tabs are literal pieces of art
No doubt... back in the day I used to collect sheets of blotter for an artist named Mark McCloud who made collages out of the sheets.
Love it, thank you sir. In a way it reminds me of terrapin station, in the sense of the loop. Bless you
LOL!! And hear i am again, listening to the jam. Like Terrapin, haha
background for my therapy, thanks GDasaurusrex
5 hours of Mixolydian, great stuff!!!
I've died and gone to heaven. Thank you.

ALOHA AND MAHALO FOR THIS AMAZING LABOR OF L♡VE☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Thank you God for making the Grateful Dead
Beautiful
Love it. My brain is having a great time
I discovered them in 1972 during high-school time..i have stopped to listen them during all the eighties, nineties and over 21th century. I re-listenjng from 2012 with a different ear at a different age (55y.old) .
I love this very much , thank u !
03:45:30 So good!!! WOW what a jam!! everything goes perfectly together
You always find the best little pockets of jam
@@gratefuldeadosaurusrex Well, you did find it first! Do you know the date of this awesome jam?
This jam drops in with Phil going crazier than a shit house rat on bass! I love recordings when he’s so clear.
The mad energy of this makes me feel like it’s gotta be from ‘68, my favorite year. I thought it was a Viola Lee jam at first but after listening through I think it was the final jam of an Other One->The Eleven.
If I come across an exact date I’ll report back…
@@thefamilydog3278 possible Dane County 73, the ending of dark star, (Phil jam) into eyes. Pure bliss. Remember flying high across the bay Bridge post kimock show to this jam.
It’s definitely the eleven. Gonna guess 68 based on the tone and the sound of the recording. Maybe those February 68 shows
GRATE GREAT grate great mix .....
