- It's my least favorite job in the shop today- wiring. This time around we skipped the Amazon Special and ordered a kit from @painlessperformance and I was surprised at how dummy proof it was- even for a hack like me! Now lets get this thing wired so we can get to driving.

Doing a awesome job on the wiring harness and wiring the system right up to par. Keep up the great work.
Tri-5 wiring brought to you by DD Speed Shop. Gotta love it. Cheers!! 😎
Keeping the wiring simple. Absolutely the best way to go. You’ll figure that out guaranteed!!
One more tri five saved from oblivion. Dan is such a productive guy.
I really like how you are putting the money in the right places as far as I'm concerned. Wiring is usually one of the biggest issues with cars, and you are taking care of that.
Yeah i hate wiring gremlins
Don't feel bad Dani about yawning. As one of the females who watches your videos every night with her husband I understand completely. I admire how much you help Dan in the garage. We wish the two of you a🎄 Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!🎄
Haha im. Not that boring...
Don't sweat the yawning, Danielle! It's winter ❄️. I can't stop yawning, napping or eating. Happens every winter.
I don't know who this Dan Guy is anymore nice big clean garage, car lift ,tool cart ,his own cherry picker . painless wiring wow just wow have a great day Dani and Dan
Not to mention everything matches. Painted power fister blue
Next thing you know it's gonna be shiny paint, rock and roll music, and devil worship!!! ❤
Im a fancy boy now
Just about ready to go. It must be tpugh - squeezing 5 hours of work into 45 minutes. Good job, Dannie 🇨🇦
I love wiring. It's east but, ever since I was declared legally blind, it makes doing the job a lot harder and it takes 3 or 4 times longer to get the job done. Yup. I build cars I'll never be able to drive on the street. BTW: 55-57 Chevy car rear end axles interchange with your trucks rear end giving you a 5 X 4.75" bolt pattern.
4 post lift? painless wiring? You gonna start working on Ferraris wearing a tux? 😂
Grey poupon and no hair in the creeper no more buger welderin 🎉 stepping up in world
He was wearing a Canadian tux in his truck video 😂😂
Yeah im pretty fancy now.
Those painless kits are the best. That’s all I use, good to see you actually reading the install manual. THATS what makes it PAINLESS….
Yeah they work pretty slick!
Painless wiring is easy, just have an open account with them and start there first.. Dani you do a fine job
If I had a choice between wiring and rust/bodywork, wiring would win!!
That 55 was either garage kept or well taken care of. Think that's the nicest one you ever found. Behind that dash looked amazing.
Yeah its a survivor that's for sure.
@@DDSpeedShop it would make a great 2 door
I build my own harnesses, yeah I know, not for everyone. But its an economical way to make wiring exactly for your build. Glad to see these old girls saved for another day.
Totally agree! This is just quicker
Dan will make it Painful no doutb...lol
Its what I get paid to do...
This video really gives the people that are scared to do wiring. A good budge into knowing how to do it. Stress free. Thanks for the video Dani didn’t enjoy maybe. But a real learning opportunity for people.
Yeah it can be a little overwhelming
Car has definitely come a long ways Dan. This one was well worth saving. 👍😎✌️
Nice and warm on the West Coast, call Murr if you don't believe ;)
as frugal you can be i cant believe that you put that VERY expensive harness in the 55 when your going to need in your 57, with the power windows
Yeah ill probably pony up for another one for that 57
I never used anything like that. I always used a combination of stock wiring and custom made wiring. On my first car, a 1963 Nova SS, back in 1975, I accidentally shorted something out, and destroyed over half the wiring in the car. I put it back together piece by piece, and changed a few things. I made my own fuse block. I ran a completely separate circuit for everything. I ended up with a lot less wiring than what it originally had. Carbureted cars with no backup lights crank windows, and no 4 way flashers don't need complicated wiring. The ignition switch was broken, and I just used a pushbutton starter switch and a toggle switch to turn power on/off to the ignition. I had a long toggle switch panel under the dash, and every switch was marked with that old school label tape from one of those label makers with a round dial and a trigger to make each letter.
Buckle up here we go again another video of DD speedshop
Good job, young man, I’m proud of you!
That harness is slick. I had a 51 Ford years ago that had wiring trouble, so I ordered a book on wiring Going to try and rewire that car. This was in the early 70's no harnesses to be ordered off the net(ha ha). Me replacing that harness with spools of wire was never going to happen, paid a man to do a patch job and just drove it till I traded it off back to the man I bought it from.
ONE YEAR LATER . . . . . . . DAN GETS TO EAT DINNER ! ! ! ! 🙂
Hey Guys, you need a happy comment! I think you guys are funny today. Thanks for the easy wiring lessen too! You need the two lane blacktop car in the background in that empty spot. Back Drop effect - - Old Gassers rule you know! Oldschool for sure.
Name brand wiring! No more cheap E bay specials ? Lol
I treat myself every now and again.
Danielle I just want to wish you and Dan a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year God bless and have a blessed day
Thanks you too!
Making it look so easy
Another great video guys
Almost ready to be an outside car once she is a driver to make room for more projects.......
Very good you have fix every thing that could go bad nice job 👍 now you can drive away 👍 😊
I pull my hair out doing wiring work keep up the great videos
Dan, if you want to see better at night, you don't need new lights, you need Dead Dodge Garage's vid on headlight relays.
Great job and you have a lot of patience.. and a positive attitude..
Dan, love love your shirt!
I'm ordering one for Xmas...😉😎😉
Did you mean Dan?
Autocorrect...😡😡😡
❤❤ love your videos awesome content😊
Dan, don’t be mean to Dani!!! Be kind 😀😀😀
It looks like the wiring would be easier on the rotisserie! 🤪😁🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha
Definitely a great Painless wiring Kits are Nice Well worth the money Good job Dan and Dani
Yes Dan... you are all we got.
Liked watching about the wiring Harness it's great how they have come a long way & ready to put in a car or Truck.
Dan when are you going to be doing another mail time video? I enjoy seeing what people send you guys and Danielle's reactions to the gifts, she gets so excited.
Good job dan😋
You're doing a great job on this 55 Dan it be back on the road in no time 😊
DD's speed shop better than cable TV.....with multiple entertaining episodes weekly!!! And yes I did said MULTIPLE. Get you some of that!!!!
Thanks!
Hay Danielle!
Yawning is from lack of oxygen to the brain. Take deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth. It really does help!
Sounds intriguing, but how does that explain one person's yawn prompting another person's yawning?
Great job 👍
As an automotive technician for the last 36 years and having had to do a few jobs like this one classic vehicles, 12 hours labor would be to start. To have complete and finished, you ll have close to 20hrs in a job like that. I would charge 100$ an hour. That's mostly because I've lost my ass on doing stuff like this for a living. 😂 Cheers from Junk's Automotive
Wouldn't it be easier to make it a two door first?
Teach Dani how to wire. That will wake her up
Haha very true
I've always found Wiring tedious and a challenge. On old cars, getting good grounds was something else .
Yup. Grounds are key!
Watch Dan suffer? Yes please!
Hahaha
Dan is the man! 😎
Go to the salvage yard and grab a fuse panel out of a 2000 S10.Its nice for any hot rod.You only need 12 or 13 circuits max.
Install a Halagen beam. I used to switch those out for halogens. Easy peasy. and cheap to buy but great.
Kroil is known as a creaping oil mad in the United States. Ooo don’t taste the oil Dan. We want to see this car run with you passed from drunk kroil the talent won’t be able to wire the car LOL. And Dani is doing drugs what this channel coming to LOL. Nice video DDSpeed Shop
you should have taken out under wires along with fuse box then you can organize by cutting wire one by one and after that put all back under
Yuppers Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 to the both of you me and my mom always watch your channel together thanks for all the laughs and time we get to spend together
Nice ..I hate wiring too ..
Its brutal
@DDSpeedShop I've always wondered if anyone has knocked on your door as a fan ...
12 circuit-$385US, 16 circuit-$534US, 20 circuit or more-$35US/hrs ($$45 if digital circuit interface.😂
It gonna take you a while. Just did my 55 took 2 months to finalize it all. Take your time and do it right! Keep up the Tri-Five builds and p*ss on the haters!
AWESOME!
👍🏻🍻
I have just completed the new wiring on my '55 hardtop and the sail panel lighting wiring was the worst for me. If you are going with RainGear electric wipers, don't mount that fuse panel until you get the wiper system installed. Merry Christmas!!! Jesus Saves!!!!
I was a nervous wreck when I wired my 51! No fire....yet👍
Ground straps,and Ground Straps
whats this doing out of the garbage🤣
Thanks for the video you two.

I commend you Dan having rewired more than a few cars I’d rather do bodywork and I Hate doing bodywork. 😂👊
No heat shrink tubing?
YEE HAW HOUSTON, WE HAVE IGNITION.
Painless is worth the money
The monster hood light from Mac tools.Led like the one your using it has padded ends that slid out. Rechargeable bad ass lights and yes I’m on drugs and alcohol it’s after 5! You going to unsubscribe me!!! Long hair. We like y’all!!!!
Make sure you do it right make safe for Dani
That kit should have been saved for a better build
you should go tell him....
Nothing better than another long forgotten tri five Chevrolet seeing the road again
All the wires 👌
You are making me kick myself. I bought the exact same car just for the engine. It had a 421 HiPo Pontiac engine sitting in it that I used for a 57 2 door. This was around 1965. The 4 door 55 was in excellent shape but was worthless back then. I got a junkyard to haul it away for free. I had no place to store it so I just gave it away. It would have made an awesome ride. :(
Hello Dan n Dani
Get finnegan or newbern get you hooked up with wirecare for loom, wire tape and such
a beauty of a car :)
I would rather watch you guys. Your real. You do hot rod stuff the hot rod way.
Is it really a “Rat Rod” any more if you removed the rat’s nest wiring?? Dan going upscale 😂😂😂
Hey now Vice Grip posted twice two weeks ago I think…?😂 but I do need my DD fix so please Dani don’t eye poke Dan
big time Dan doesn't remember how to be thrifty lol
I put painless in my 57 it was easy
At this point it’s better to use START instead of FIRE ?
Really wiring WAIT, let me get my pillow BORING.
lets get to the truck already 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
U R moving forward.
Wow that's cool as hell yeah man I know that I'll do that 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dan wouldn't know he doesn't read instructions
Also true
I think everyone hates wiring
I'd rather drink muddy water than do wiring! 😂
Let’s go D and D
You don't have electric wipers unless you have another unit. Right now vacuum wipers are on the car. 😢
Doing it the right way 😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉😮😮😮😮
You are all we got
I hate wiring the most also. And I work in electrical engineering.
