I did a No Toil filter and man I couldn't wash that filter grease off even with gas lol, stuff is stiiiiicky!!! I agree about the exhaust having the largest impact on all around performance, from low speed cruisin in a higher gear to off the line take offs, night/day! I went with the Yoshi carbon system, it was a tough trigger to pull but after 10 miles worth of riding even without the jet kit installed I can honestly say MONEY WELL SPENT, I'm sure yours was the same way!
First of all thank you! I appreciate it! And the filter, not so much. The biggest difference came in the jet kit and the exhaust. Completely different bike after that.
My 22 model just hit 200 miles and I already had one of the axle sliders fall off and one of the bar ends fall off. Not a big deal since I'm putting on hand guards and different sliders, but it is disappointing. Love the bike so far though. Mine is the white instead of the black though.
Keep in mind, this is. It a Suzuki problem. These bikes come disassembled. So those items that fell off, are installed by the dealer. That’s a dealer problem, not a Suzuki problem.
@@linksgarage1985 Yea, I don't blame Suzuki, at least for the bar end. The axle slider is another thing. It actually bounced up and hit me on the shin so I was able to get it. Tried to reinstall it and it won't tighten up any more. It is a bad design. May actually be made by someone other than Suzuki though. Works similar to a bar end except it is a rubber piece that swells up to hold it. Has a spacer to keep from overtightening it, but it doesn't allow you to tighten it enough. Not a big deal for me since I'm replacing both items though. I'm sure my dealer would work to fix it if I asked.
Thanks once again for the informative video, helping people like me do these installs that would normally cost me hundreds of dollars altogether. I’m doing my Barkers exhaust, 3*3 (or 1*3) and k&n filter myself, maybe tomorrow if it’s warm enough out. All thanks to you, bro. I’m probably not going to attempt the jet kit. I’m not confident enough in my mechanical abilities or lack thereof. Do you think it would be okay to run it a few hundred miles w mentioned mods w/o jetting? Thanks again, man. Shop here is $165/hr. They want an hour for exhaust alone!!!! You’re seriously a life saver.
All good brother. Yea you could run it without the jet kit. It will run lean though. It will have all the air, and exhaust, but no fuel. Shouldn’t kill anything. As long as it’s very limited. Good luck dude!
@@187_Hannibal I should have asked this first. Have you jetted it at all yet? If not, yes, it needs to be rejetted. Especially with a full exhaust and the air filter.
Follow the manufacturers instructions. If it calls for it, do it. Or it doesn’t, don’t. A lot of k&ns come pre oiled. But you have to the oil after cleaning.
I did this mod 10 years ago and it's crazy seeing this again on a 2022 model year haha oh Suzuki. It's a great lil mod especially since you already have the bike jetted. I can't say I noticed a performance difference, but it was nice knowing the bike was "breathing" a little better :) Did you end up futzing around with the air/fuel mixture after these mods?
K&n are not as good as you would think. Bmc have a bit better flow. On my r6 and r1 the stock paper filter actually did better than the k&n. A university graduate did a study on flow and bmc came top of the list, then stock then k&n. Unreal eh

Hell yea. Jet it and it’ll be a different machine!
Just received the same air filter:)
Sweet!
Did you notice a decent boost in performance after all the mods? I just picked up a 2022 DRZ.
Thanks, Jared. Keep up the great work and videos.

@@CraigSmith568 my 2022 didn’t even come with the sliders.
One of my bar ends fell off really fast as well
How does that air filter clean up? Make a video on that. I've only used twin air filters on dirt bike so wasn't sure. Thanks.
Show us a video of the Tusk stand and a link! Having a 21 drz I like watching your videos and I used your rejetting video great content!
Hell yea! Thanks man! I have some more videos filmed and ready to go. The bike changes a lot!

Great vedio. Thanks bro
No problem. Thanks for watching I appreciate it.
Nice video thanks !
Thank you! I appreciate you watching!
Does your filter fit snug around or kinda has some wiggle room?
Pretty snug. Minimal wiggle. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
Great video! If I changed the filter and took out the snorkel do you think I’d still have to rejet?
You could try it. Is the exhaust stock?
@@linksgarage1985 yoshi exhaust my issue is when it’s in first with clutch fully engaged the bike lurches and if I tap my foot brake the engine stalls

I did not. I didn’t notice any difference. So I left it alone. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
Have you had an issue with the plastics getting dull and losing their semi shine? I can’t decide if I’m buying the white one or the black one
Nope. My stuff looks good. Then again, it’s a 22. White looks awesome 2.

Would you recommend a re-jetting with the KN air filter for the DRZ? I already have the JD Jetting, and 3x3 mod.
Well, I’ve ridden about 200 miles since the filter, and I don’t really notice a difference. I don’t think a rejet is necessary. Just my opinion
Do you have to tune these bikes after all these parts
Jetted, exhaust, and airbox mod.
you need bigger bike my bro
I’ve had bigger ones. I like this one. Thanks for watching!
Why?
