despite how much of a pain in the ass the whole process was, the ref seemed like a pretty stand up dude and real chill about it. gotta be grateful of that at least lol. time for some more sti content though!!

The most annoying about this is how cops do not do this for their own. I have a built sti and have been stopped many times and just bc I'm law enforcement, I have been let go immediately. Yes it's nice but it sucks that not everyone is treated the same way. It seems off that I even said that since I am benefitting from it but I can just imagine what someone with a higher rank/more power than me can get away with and its scary. Also, come on corporations pollute our planet way more than a car with a DP would, but that circles back to what I was saying, the more power, the more you can get away with.
Agreed. My car is registered under my dads name since my insurance premiums would be through the roof… and everytime they run my car, they shockingly let me go. He’s doj 🤣🤣

I got state ref in my EVO. Change the exhaust back to stock until I can get home and register the car where I live. I'm only here in Cali for work and I bought the car while working here in Cali. August can't get here soon enough.

they revved mine when i took mine in with a resonator delete lol but I think my solid rear motor mount made the car louder inside than outside

it’s honestly not that bad here, that cop was just targeting chris. if you drive chill in front of cops they won’t really bother you. they might pull u over late at night to fish for DUIs using your mods as probable cause, but if you’re chill with them, they’ll be chill with you too

No what I applied for a postion out in CA a few weeks back at my company since they need a class A or B driver.. I'm kinda happy they didn't pick me, I wanted to much to move anyways. But, after watching these types of videos, I don't think I'd be able to tool around with the EVO X out there.

Cobb Stage 1 & 2 OTS are CARB legal. A custom tune/pro tune is not CARB legal.
Also there are many brands that are CARB legal but they only run up to a certain number series. So it can be confusing, for example, if you purchase an AEM intake that is legal and one that isn’t.

did u put the aftermarket exhaust after the state ref certification and before going to the court? or did u put it back on after the certification and going to court?
A friend of mine got pulled over in his STOCK RX-8 doing 5 below the limit. They call 4 cops to check everything about the car. 20 minutes later, they say the motor tipped them off (he was doing 7k in 1st).

ve had my subaru 2017 wrx since it had 4400 miles on it. Love that thing but had the tranny go on it at 22,000 miles. also yes i know how to drive a manual im 36 years old and have had 14 cars 9 of those manual. When i brought it to the shop they said i wasint under warranty bc they said it had signs of abuse $3200 later....Down the road as of now after they "fixed it" the car is back in the shop waiting to see what they say now at 30,000 miles. thinking about selling the thing now since this keeps happing and the bad taste of they Not honoring thier warranty

Cali is really is a different dimension. being cited for a cold air intake and bov is so funny. also for them to assume the car isnt on a stock map with no real tangible evidence is pretty sketch. I hate to see Cali's car laws going this far considering how prolific the car scene is there.

If one were to have all Cobb parts except the downpipe and a protune, then all one would have to do is remove their downpipe and upload a Cobb OTS tune to pass, correct?
Yeah the Cobb stage 1, 1 + have carb numbers. I have a Cobb stage 1 ,1+ carb sticker stuck to my coin tray so if someone plugs in they see it. I hope I never have to go back to the ots but it’s nice to have the option to pass temporarily.
If it has a carb sticker you can leave it on and it’ll pass.

I got a state reff for my 5.0 mustang, I have catbacks, but was thinking of throwing on valved mufflers. Would I fail the state reff? Does anyone have experience on this? (My ticket was for intake manifold not exhaust)
What did you end up doing?
@@basedking3873 ended up putting back oem resonator and original mufflers on. When I went to the state reff he passed me but I asked him about this but he said I would’ve failed it because they do make sure everything is up to factory specs. I got into an accident in November, and still haven’t gotten my car back from the body shop but I’m planning to still putting valved exhaust once i get it back because its so quiet on stock exhaust.
