doo it bro!! its all i use is my iphone 13 and a chest rig. maybe someday i will get a gopro on a stick for the behind the shoulder view. thank you for your support ! (update just saw your vid, great quality and nice catches)
Back in the 90's me and my buddies fished that very point you are fishing from shore and we slayed the bass. We used mostly Mojo plastic Crawdads Texas style. The current would come from East to west over the point and the fish would stack up on either side. When we cast out half the time they would eat it on the fall, we could watch our lines jump sometimes before we even began our retrieve. Some days we must have caught over 40 fish.
yes it seems where the sand meets the stones the fish like to stack up. maybe easier to ambush prey? thank you for that brief history lesson, like to hear more!
@@losangelesbfs Now that I found your channel I will be watching your videos and commenting, I will include my experiences from time to time also. Probably going to ask lots of questions myself. You see, in the early 80's as a teenager me and my friends got hooked on fishing. Eventually we chose bass fishing as our main focus. When I was 17 I joined a local bass fishing club, my parents had to sign a waiver since I was a minor, the youngest club member.. These guys taught me so much and began catching more bass than ever before. I loved fishing "Away" tournaments. We fished one tournament a month, one local tournament (1 day) and one long distant tournament (2 days). You were allowed to pre-fish away tournaments and sometimes we would leave on Wednesday evenings and fish for 4 days on lakes and rivers I only read about. These were some of the best times of my life. I stopped fishing for a few decades but now I have the itch again and my brother and I have been taking short trips to local lakes.
I haven’t gotten anything to go for the micro Ned’s here in Fort Worth yet nice catches man. Your lakes out there are just little better looking than north Texas too 😂.
thanks bro! i used to live in ft sill oklahoma for a couple years. the midwest is too beautiful. i wish i took advantage of the bass fishing there. the waters here are too pressured!!
respect! yes many say its good. ive eaten the other sunfish species: bluegill, crappie, perch. ill have to look into it. also have you tried spotted bay bass?
@@losangelesbfs been awhile since i ate a spotted bay dont remember how it taste like but i did remember there wasnt much meat on it so i i usually just let them go
I fished Perris in the early 90’s, in my customized Jon Boat from Sears, the park ranger liked it and made me an offer, nope! I boated a lot of big Spots around the island boulders with Mann’s 30+ cranks (Who’d-a thunk Spots would eat them like that!) and in the grass by the road bed with a rattle trap. Peace!
@@losangelesbfs Unfortunately no, I’m an AZ dude now and have access to some pretty good lakes, Saguaro 🌵 “Land of the Giants!” I used to fish Irvine Lake back then too in OC people didn’t know much about Manns 30+ cranks or that there were monster bass there. It is a Private lake and back then got regular stocking of Trout and I think cats so Bass had a regular source of food, and they knew when the truck showed up, smart aren’t they! Me Being me found out when they stocked and I would go fish in my favorite spot, a ditch on a point with a path to the area where they stocked, there was a submerged fence line and let’s say I had to buy a leather thumb sleeve to keep my thumb from getting thrashed and bleed! 🩸 But man, it was a good kind of bleeding 🩸!
i have recently stepped up the line in my bfs reels recently since i primarily target bass. now im at 10lb braid main line and will go from 6 to 4lb leader.
Your video inspired me to film my first kayak fishing video, and I went to Lake Perris! Cheers!

awsome getting out there when its tough. what jig heads are you using on your arig for the no hooks?
yes thank you so much eric. the baits on the no hooks were 2.8 inch electric shad keitech swing impacts!
jig heads are 1/8oz zman finesse jigheads, baits were 3.3 inch keitechs
@@losangelesbfs so the same jig heads with the hook cut off? do you glue the keitech on to prevent it from sliding off?
@@ericr1382 the ones with no hooks are just spiral locks on the wire yes 2.8 keitechs. no super glue. the keepers are pretty sturdy! 👍🏼
