Obviously I'm two years late on this, but technically this IS a recording of Rachmaninov's performance... in a way. He likely played it on a piano hooked up to a magnetic recording mechanism, creating data similar to a punched paper music roll, which could then be fed back through a player piano and therefore reproduced with reasonable accuracy. Dynamics did get somewhat lost in translation, but the OP notes that this was corrected for, and the 290SE model specified in the info was one specifically designed to allow dynamic playing.
One genious playing another. Remastered, yes. But how magnificent.
Greatest recording of all time! Glorious musicianship.
.. and the sun shines just with his sounds
He was other-worldly.
How authentic is this
Very
FANTASTIC!!!!
STACCATO WITH 16THS--PHENOMENAL!!!
You are listening to the playing of a pianist who knew the composer.
And the playing of a composer that revolutionized the world, under the idolization of the composer of this music
love it
Merveilleux!

Меня помидорами не забросают,если скажу, что лучше всех играет Алексей Султанов ? Может он и колдун, но я почувствовала запах первого снега
