    The hardest part about camping for me is: finding people to go camping with me. The RIGHT people to go with me lol. My closest friends aren’t the “outdoorsy” type, neither is my girlfriend. And if I am able to convince her to come with me, she complains the whole time lol. I have no kids & all my nieces & nephews are older now & “too cool” to go camping any more lol. So it’s usually just me & my dog. But I prefer it that way. Camping is my personal alone time.

    Nice video! Key to lighting wet firewood.. break it down as much as you can without Turning your fuel to kindling. It’s only wet on the outside and the the more you expose the dryer inner wood your fire will start and get hot faster. Glad to see you all out doors having fun!

    Omg, its so wonderful to see this. I LOVE camping but unfortunately Im not able to find someone to come with me. Not something people of our culture do often. If it was up to me, I would go out atleast once a month rather than once or twice a year. Finally trying to convince myself to atleast do a campsite by myself. Once I get a gun or permit, I can start backpacking a mile or 2 in the woods. Next year 2025 is my year for this❤ thank you for posting.

    Camping is very popular where I live. People including black people camp outside my building every night of the year. They camp in my parking lot. They camp at the picnic tables next to the building. A dozen or so camp behind the building next to the railroad tracks. One black girl that lives full time in my parking lot is environmentally conscious. She recycles everything. Cans, plastic, literally ANYTHING, including thrown out food.

    • @TheSeattleRose
      @TheSeattleRose  8 місяців тому

      In Seattle they do the same. Very few black folks, all you see out here are white people. They even break into cars and camp in them. They break into stores and camp there too. That’s why I think it’s important to highlight how few black people camp. It’s nice to know that you’ve seen a black girl, cuz I’ve only ever seen white girls dumpster diving. Very interesting, thanks for sharing. From Your fellow non profit worker (over 20 years) working to end homelessness.

    I always camp at least twice a year. Loads of black people camp especially Adventurers and Pathfinders around the globe. I was at a camp in England 2 weeks ago with about 100 campers a safe 90% were black

      But the easiest way to go about it is find out where your nearest Seventh Day Adventist church is, find out if they have a Pathfinder club and then you can join them for camps get your daughter enrolled .
      I've been to 2 in the USA. There was 30, 000 and 50, 000 campers of every race across the globe it was awesome

    Esau was a cunning hunter and Jacob a tent dweller. We always was laid back and dwelled in our tents. Esau stole and lied and we forgot our heritage and who we were. Repent turn to Yah and he will bring it back into remembrance. You have to keep the commandments!!!

      You must be outside of the culture so it’s probably a little difficult for you to understand and I’m also not for you to understand. But there is definitely a long history behind Black people camping at 14 and being out in the open navigating and exploring the outdoors and if you don’t understand those reasons I’m not here to teach you

      @@TheSeattleRose no Im not black. Im indigenous. Different culture. Been here a long time. I understand more than you know. I am Cherokee/Choctaw. The only differance I see is how someone treats me. Wasnt raised to look at people as a color and certainly didnt raise my kids that way. Ive worked in public service my whole life. All blood is red. Souls dont look different to my Maker. Camp, fish, hike, read a book, work. Love your family and those close to you. Enjoy life as you were meant to and watch out for ticks.

      @renalangstaff730 Oh great that’s good to know but I have a lot of the other people of non-color who have an issue with me saying Black people camp to without understanding and recognizing that for most of our time as Black people in this country it was extremely dangerous for us to be outdoors it’s just not as dangerous now I appreciate the love and I apologize for interpreting your message in a negative light
