The hardest part about camping for me is: finding people to go camping with me. The RIGHT people to go with me lol. My closest friends aren’t the “outdoorsy” type, neither is my girlfriend. And if I am able to convince her to come with me, she complains the whole time lol. I have no kids & all my nieces & nephews are older now & “too cool” to go camping any more lol. So it’s usually just me & my dog. But I prefer it that way. Camping is my personal alone time.

Nice video! Key to lighting wet firewood.. break it down as much as you can without Turning your fuel to kindling. It’s only wet on the outside and the the more you expose the dryer inner wood your fire will start and get hot faster. Glad to see you all out doors having fun!

Taking my daughters camping this weekend. First time doing a non-car camping trip. Camping on an island off the coast so we have to fit everything in backpacks and a small utility wagon. We're all super excited

Also from the south, and none of my family or friends camp. It’s only became safe for black people to camp and forage over the last 10 years. But our history of being in the woods isn’t a pleasent one. I want to let my people know it’s fun and safe!!
When I was in college I took a group camping several times, (They were from different cultures and had a range of skin tones.) on the Buffalo River. (Not too far from Harrison AR) Fortunately, we never had any troubles. That was before racists became what they are now. It is great that you are still breaking the glass wall they put up on the highway.
Omg, its so wonderful to see this. I LOVE camping but unfortunately Im not able to find someone to come with me. Not something people of our culture do often. If it was up to me, I would go out atleast once a month rather than once or twice a year. Finally trying to convince myself to atleast do a campsite by myself. Once I get a gun or permit, I can start backpacking a mile or 2 in the woods. Next year 2025 is my year for this❤ thank you for posting.
It's great to see black folks finally learning how to enjoy the outdoors I started in Parks & Recreation at age of 15 that was 53years ago and I have no regrets I see these kids that love those streets and glamour quick death certificate,if you ask me

I always camp at least twice a year. Loads of black people camp especially Adventurers and Pathfinders around the globe. I was at a camp in England 2 weeks ago with about 100 campers a safe 90% were black

But the easiest way to go about it is find out where your nearest Seventh Day Adventist church is, find out if they have a Pathfinder club and then you can join them for camps get your daughter enrolled . I've been to 2 in the USA. There was 30, 000 and 50, 000 campers of every race across the globe it was awesome
Camping is very popular where I live. People including black people camp outside my building every night of the year. They camp in my parking lot. They camp at the picnic tables next to the building. A dozen or so camp behind the building next to the railroad tracks. One black girl that lives full time in my parking lot is environmentally conscious. She recycles everything. Cans, plastic, literally ANYTHING, including thrown out food.
In Seattle they do the same. Very few black folks, all you see out here are white people. They even break into cars and camp in them. They break into stores and camp there too. That’s why I think it’s important to highlight how few black people camp. It’s nice to know that you’ve seen a black girl, cuz I’ve only ever seen white girls dumpster diving. In our 20 years of camping holidays, Only Twice have we seen a black family on a campsite. We have Never seen an Indian family on any campsites…… I really have absolutely No idea why that is, why is camping not as diverse as our society. Everyone should go camping, why not???
You must be outside of the culture so it’s probably a little difficult for you to understand and I’m also not for you to understand. I believe they do. The babies did not have one bite on them. I had 3 on my butt and back. I recommend them.
