    Can the light-alloy be stored underneath the vehicle or will it have to be placed in the boot?

    • @MercedesBenzVans
      @MercedesBenzVans  Рік тому

      Hi there! In case of a puncture, the alloy wheel can temporarily be stored underneath the vehicle or in the boot. Have a nice day!

      @@MercedesBenzVans the owners manual says the light alloy cannot be stored underneath the vehicle so was wondering why’s that

      @MercedesBenzVans  Рік тому +1

      Nice catch! It seems our team missed the mark this time, and you have got a sharp eye for details. You even had the right answer all along. Impressive! As it turns out, the owner's manual does state that the alloy wheel cannot be stored underneath the vehicle, so we recommend following that guidance.

      @@MercedesBenzVans would you happen to know the exact reason for this though?

    • @MercedesBenzVans
      @MercedesBenzVans  Рік тому

      The owner's manual advises against storing alloy wheels underneath the vehicle for safety reasons probably. Light alloy wheels are often larger than spare wheels, which could affect ground clearance and vehicle stability, potentially leading to damage and safety issues. Following this guidance ensures your safety and your vehicle's proper functioning.

    You have to pull lowering wheel from under the vehicle while rotating the tool. After you’ve pulled hold the thingy that carries the wheel, once it’s released it instantly runs to beneath the bus. The point is the rope twists like a spring, as it rests down there for ages. Awfully awkward after all

    How far can I drive on the spare wheel ? Mercedes Vito 2017 U.K.
    Is is a normal full size steel wheel like the rest ? Or one of those thin ones that you can only drive short distances at lower speeds ?
    Thanks !

    • @MercedesBenzVans
      @MercedesBenzVans  3 роки тому +1

      With tire dimensions larger than or equal to the 225/55 R17, the spare wheel is designed as a temporary spare wheel. In addition the temporary spare wheel is marked with a sticker that indicates the maximum speed of 80 km / h. Best, your Mercedes-Benz Vans Team

      Put a small carpet on the ground and beneath the vehicle, get down there and see what happened there. Most likely the rope twisted. Then you pull the rope, while your assistant rotates tool back and forth.

    Not a great way of changing a wheel. I’ll probably keep mine in the back of the van for convenience.
