This is an old Stanley Handyman planer from the 1950's or 60's that was a flea market find. The Handyman series was the budget series of planers, so this tool really doesn't have any value, even restored. However, it just called out to me, as these are beautiful when they are brought back to life. My focus wasn't really to make it a usable planer, just more of a decorative item.

This looks like an incredible job! For rookies like myself. can you explain the drilling out and adding back of the lever and the pin for the little piece it interacts with?

The red paint was that original and cleaned up or did you touch it up? Looks awesome. You are very talented. I have watched several of your other videos. I like the way you pause to see the parts before cleaning and after. It gives perspective on operation. This would be instructional for people wondering about operation of different components.👍

That turned out better than I thought it would. What stain did you use on the handles?

Just the Varathane wood stain you'd get at Home Depot. I think these planes are works of art in their design. They are beautiful when cleaned up.

Nice job, but Mr. Stanley is probably turning over in his grave with the blue paint. :)

It’s a PLANE, not a planer. A planer is a power tool. This is not. Nice job on the resto

Nice job but why, the plane isn't worth much.

Way too much time spent admiring what hasn’t and has been done. Video should have been done in five minutes. Sorry! Good work but speed things up please!
