Just made it and was surprised at how well it flew compared to the others I've made in the past (i.e. in the 5th grade). Good to know how it all works.
Also shocked and amazed there is a person who specializes in making airplanes.
Thanks for the reminder. I'll get to the video hopefully for next week
Smart. and I love how it starts to go down and then starts to glide up.
John has one of those voices that you could listen to for hours.
I learnt how to make this paper plane about 30 years ago. I still use the same design when making paper planes for my children.
TomPatelGaming is doing good
WAT 30...30YRS
TomPatelGaming dude I know you don’t have kids you have a roblox logo lol
40-50 year old with a roblox profile pic...
Ooooooooff!
This got me want to go ahead and start up with the good ole paper airplanes again :D
Learned something new. Thank you
Who knew this guy will be in WIRED channel
wow this planes amazing thanks for showing us how to make it.
I make it a little different and if u do a hybrid between it and the plane he makes to set the world record, it will have the wings of it the plane showcased in this video but the body of the record holder. That flies really good and needs minimal tweaking.
I used to make these types of planes when I was a kid
When you make these ones with light paper, they just hang there in the air really slowly and fun for kids.
I MADE A PINK PLANE AND IT FLEW AND AM TEACHING LITTLE KIDS TO DO IT SO MUCH FUN. WE STARTED WITH THE DART TODAY .. NEXT WE WILL MAKE THIS ONE
This is so incredibly interesting.. and I have no idea why! :D
I have to say, good explanation, but those test flights really stunk and I think I know why! It took me a few hours yesterday to figure it out. I thought for sure John Collins of all people would know the secret tweak. I'll reveal it on my channel next week.
JeremyShaferOrigami hi
Origami goat
Thx 😊 this really helped
This plane is great actually. Better than anything else for the effort.
omg it is so good
Love it going to try with my son he's going love this thx guys
Good Folding, bad throwing example! Mine is slightly different, made it since early '70's
It's funny how something so simple could be so technical.
and how it could fly 226 feet
I have been folding planes that way since the mid 70s
haha i was thinking the same thing when they started talking about the increadable Makinorma fold. lol -- my dad showed me how to do that when i was 5 ;)

Beefalo Bart p
Beefalo Bart same, the way he says nakamura lock as if it has been newly discovered
1" is 25.4mm
Love the music
Fun fact: RAT is a real system in real planes, usually commercial airliners. It's used when the engines fail, or a problem happens with the electricity fails. When activated, a propeller about the size of a small Cessnas propeller comes down from bellow the planes fuselage, and gets rotated by the wind. Think of it as a windmill, it spins and gives electricity to operate electrical the components in the plane.
Stands for RAM AIR TURBINE
he is touching de papers like it's gold for him😂😲
sir Bean Jay
Ajauy
sir Bean .
the airplane flies great
I learned how to make this airplane since I was 4 years old and I still make it today
People do realise that the name of the plane is in the description and he says it in the video and did not take credit for design right
nibesh ghale he literally took credit by saying that it was designed by Ajay Nakamura
its so easy love it so much likeing this video 😃
Best ever plane in my life
1 inch is about 22 mm?
Its really cool
Dude this plane is the original it's so easy
exactly. this guy was born yesterday or youtube is making everyone give away all our childhood secrets for a little fame and money we all know doesn't exist in that grave!!
this is great Aeroplan
this is the only plane i know how to make.
fyi i fold the wings out adjacent to the top of the RAT fold so the handle you hold is the same height all the way across the length, making for a wider wing surface which = more lift...
Ok I did, finally. I just posted it.
JeremyShaferOrigami omg Jeremy !
Omg so the nakamura lock airplane was the inspiration from this.......

Jermy shafer hi i Subscribe
1:09 haha so I’m not the only one who does it like dat
Love it
So i'm a paper airplane expert since kindergarten? that's good news
A bit of tape in the center ? Is that recommended? Back in my childhood, our dad would tape it together, at the center. His argument being, to keep the frame from vibrations, in flight.
Sorry for the late response, but no tape needed.
Haha I always make this plane when I was young, except mine has a pointy front. And to increase stability and help it fly straight, I fold about 0.5-1cm of each side of the wing from one end to the other end to 90 degrees. I found that out by coincidence since I'm trying to make it look more badass haha. It will help stabilize your plane even if it doesn't fly straight in the first place. Well most of the time, if done right.
RAT = Right About There. Another real technical term used in aircraft design and repair is: TLAR = That Looks About Right!
I like the book.
I wonder where this came from because my dad taught me this design when I was a kid, and just this weekend I made it for my niece and it flew about 100 feet! Haa haa.
I wish I had those sheets of paper
Nakamura Lock A.K.A The Eagle and many other names
Sawyer Kesti
is it me or am i on a parallel earth where everyone on this new thing called social media were born after 1994 even the old looking humans just spawned out of nowhere!!
This isn't the world record plane, just a really good glider!
good plane
I've been making that plane for years
You should see Real Paper Airplanes its on youtube.
SR-71 BLACKBIRD. four stories high Also look at Tape.ave
Backed by Lockheed Martin Corp. The next level man!
I make that plane ALL THE TIME
Super sir 👍🏆👍🏆👍👍🏆🏆
it is so niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I am Vietnamese too!
I'm looking at it now
Good very good
merci wow
I like this paper plane
of course you have
I make that paper air plane all the time
Its good
nothing new! I made this paper airplane since I was a child.
yes
In one of my books, this is called the Super Plane. Well, I know what the real name is now.
i knew this plane when i was 3 ._.
i won a school contest with this airplane
wow this is how I always built my paper airplanes.
After I fold it in half I unfold it and then fold those flaps
how to make a ultrq glide plane
Best plane
Can you fold f-22 raptor, please
Shisuke Nakamora
I am a kid but I love to make paper airplane
Mine flew into the forest in my backyard
oh no im on THAT part of youtube again
I flew it...
landed in the trash..😖
Stddf Fddts That's because it is trash
Luckymon_Playz but it was so graceful...
for a second..😛
Stddf Fddts I know how to make a plane 2 times better than this one
Luckymon_Playz
DAMMMMMMMMNN!!
Stddf Fddts I
Wow
Is this really his job?
2012, i did this back in 1987 but how?
I've been making that same plane since the early 1970's.
I am use plane this is very good plane
"There's always tweaking."
Ye me and my friend make one and it blows our mind my friend "two friend" plane just circle around a tree and mine was Going over the tree and my other friend was Going through ONE Tiny hole
This is how make a paper airplane
roasted 1:32
This was 6 years ago
I now this plane is called the glider
Omg a 11 year old new this plane before
i know this airplane everyone in class making him
Does'nt John mean the airplane rotates around the 'centre of gravity or mass' not the 'centre of lift'.
no
It goes really far
I am under 9 and I am so good at paper planes
Cool!
Just keep going and you may set a world record!
CC NN me too
I had a 5 hour ad that played before the video
Jshonnon Kimble well I had a five minute ad lmao
Jshonnon Kimble well i had no ad
So really the Japanese person
Try 24.5 mm for your inch...
i d say 24.5148mm
Heh.. 25.4
Jermy why are you one jhons content
in my gucci goggles
tell us how to make a world record plane
that plane is used to win the world record distance throw
+Thomas Bailey-Byrne not quite, he folds the tip to be a point rather than an edge. it sacrifices impact durability for performance.
kevin leng he did on his channel ''The PaperAirplaneGuy''is the channel name
There's always tweaking
lol
It is cool and gos far
I know that plane
