I met him several times during my tenure in the band. I did my best to play his parts and add my own feel to those songs. Dean told me so many funny stories about him over the years. He lives on because of his great playing on those recordings.
@Inspectorjim Robert Nix was definitely one of a kind! I miss our times together and the stories he'd tell me. I was in a pool with him in Nashville and he got Artimus Pyle on the phone...He told me all the old Skynard Stories!
This band has so many hidden gems. Once you get past 'So Into You' and 'Imaginary Lover' that everyone wants you to react to, you will find a treasure trove of very good music. Just like you did with The Ballad Of Lois Malone.

When i was 12 years old me and my family saw the ars tour bus at McDonald's in Greenville S.C. My dad pulls in the parking lot. We meet the whole band and get auto graphs. I will be 62 next month.
Another great southern rock band This band also has many great songs Just a few to mention Georgia Rhythm, champagne, jam Cocain Charlie,I’m So Into You,The Ballad Of Lois Malone,Back Up Against The Wall and Home Sick T you are spot on about this song imaginary lover You hit the nail right on the head Home Sick is a very good song One of my favorites from this band
Saw them in concert back in the day in an Auditorium. There was an old man from turn of the Century next to us jamming and dancing and he knew all their songs
Saw them in concert back in the day in an Auditorium. There was an old man from turn of the Century next to us jamming and dancing and he knew all their songs
I was in jr. high when this came out and man, did it cause a ruckus. They sold more copies of that than they could count, including to me. Their first two albums were brilliant. I loved that band. Highly, highly underrated. And yeah, it is blatantly about masturbation.
Oh man do I agree with you about this song. To be honest I haven’t heard this song in a long time until now. When this song was released in 1978 right away you knew this song was about self pleasure. I was in the Air Force back then and my friends and I would talk about this song. Sometimes we would make fun of each other at the end of our work shift by asking the single Airman will he be with his imaginary lover tonight? Of course it was said in fun and we would get a good laugh out of it. Yep, that’s what it was all about. What a great song and great memories it brings back. You guys are the best. Keep up the good work.
This song was all over the radio when it came out, and very popular. Played in malls, in the car, for kids, etc. And I don't think people really thought about the fact that it really is a dirty song. hahahaha
A fantasy lover, of course, which every single person on earth has at one time or another. Fantastic southern rock band, with overtones of jazz & the blues. Thanks for your reaction.
LOVED this reaction! 😂 This came out when I was in high school. Yes it is about self pleasure and singer Ronnie Hammond makes it sound like beautiful thing. This band was the "Toto of the south"... that is comprised of a group of extremely talented studio musicians.
A stupendous song. I am pretty sure that T's assessment of this song's meaning is accurate. 'nuf said . ARS is pretty underrated as a band. Their 4 most popular songs are very popular for a reason. Each one tore up the radio airwaves in their initial heydays : Imaginary Lover; Champagne Jam; Spooky; So Into You. But they are loaded up with good songs after these jams. Love y'all's reaction. Again, as usual. A favorite RVC, thanks to two cool people and some pretty cool music to back them up.
lol, "Satisfaction guaranteed"... Great reaction. I've heard this song so many times over the years and never put two and two together until I saw your thumbnail saying it was filthy. lol.
I suggest 70's rock band The Babys. They were a rock band but their biggest hits were three mid-tempo ballads; "Isn't It Time", "Back On My Feet Again" and "Every Time I Think Of You." Love the choices overall. Keep up the great reaction videos!
You are right, however this is a great song and all their songs are jams. Please listen to more of their songs. Champagne Jam , so into you, spooky , just to name a few
Southern Rock band.... session players ...ex members of the Classic IV from the late '60s....loved So Into You....Spooky....great concert band back in the day... "Satisfaction Guaranteed "😂
Sir you are 100. Hes a little too familiar with his little buddy csuse theres no pressure, shes at his becond call ,ready n willing, & never disappointing, and no one else can take her from him.shes all his.what a great idea !
there is no other way to think about this song, i am almost 70, and knew what this song was about from the title, and the lyrics confirmed that,,,,,,,, and if you didnt you lived in a vanilla world
Back in the late 70's early 80's Atlanta was a very hot place for rock. Spots like the Agora Ballroom, Uncle Tom's cabin and some others in Buckhead. It wasnt unusual to see AC/DC, UFO, Ted Nugent, ARS, Allman Bros, Skynyrd, Bad Company, Clapton on and on somewhere in Atlanta every weekend. People drove from all over the south to migrate to Atlanta in those days. Lots of fun and lots of great music.
Lead singer Perry Carlton "Buddy" Buie, drummer Robert Nix, and keyboardist Dean Daughtry wrote the song. In an interview with the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum, Buie was asked if this song was about masturbation. He emphatically answered, "Yes!"
Hahaha, you guys are so cute! You’re spot on T! He is indeed singing about Playing UNO… or Shaking Hands with Governor… or… eh, well you get the point. :-) By the way, you should do another Steely Dan review. “Babylon Sisters”, about how he should stay away from prostitutes… or “Home at Last” which is a metaphoric take on Homers “The Illiad and the Odessy”. Both are brilliant songs that you would love.
I also think rich girl by hall and oats was fantastic....you should check out...live from daryls house...I think you will really like it. He brings in so many incredible artist to sing and jam with..great show
OMG T poor Tasha beating his meat bro really? that poor girl. Wow that even made me blush and that's not easy. Stay strong Tasha this Music Business is Raunchy. this song is about fantasy affairs and how they can often trump reality, as fantasies are flawless, while real people have flaws and impose their own reality. it refers to longing for the unattainable
There is what, in reality, we know you will do,and then there is this place in our mind that you women won't go to the fantasy women who are blonde, red hair or brunette, every male or female has had that certain type that just is only in the imagination. Makes for a very cool song with a great guitar solo.
This song is about sexual fantasies! Don't most people have sexual fantasies? ARS has many great songs, but I think this is one of the best. There is nothing dirty or bad about this song.
Hhahahaha.... Guys this was so unfair to Tasha. She's so wholesome. Ya'll know my mind is always in the gutter.
Most of us men are T 😆. Still funny reaction made me spit my tea everywhere when you said it. The expression on her face.
Poor Tasha…😂
THE LOOK ON HER FACE LMFAO !!!! we are sooooo basic Tasha - he hit it perfectly 😂😂😂😂
Tasha needs to listen again

@@rebeccamcvey8600 Yes they have many great songs ,I have all of the albums and have suggested Angel quite a bit on in many reaction channels ..

Bumper sticker;
Las Vegas; 1994:

Satisfaction guaranteed
😂 Indeed 😂
"Beatin' Ain't Cheatin'"
Such an underrated band
Agree. I love their music.
I love it when y'all say 'meow' lol
Fun fact. If you played this LP at 45 instead of 33 it sounded almost exactly like Fleetwood Mac with Stevie Nicks singing.
Thanks for the fapping suggestion. LOL
I saw ARS in concert last weekend ❤

I was waiting for you to figure out! Then came that smile half way through the song! Tasha, no worries, only men can figure this song out! Love y’all
My wife will sometimes jokingly threaten to "cut me off" I just say "no problem" and start humming this song. She doesn't know this song. 😂😂😂
LMAO! An Imaginary Lover is always the perfect remedy for that situation--"Satisfaction Guaranteed!" What more can you ask for?1? 😍🤣
ARS’ tribute to the “ménage a moi”😂😂😂
It’s about self pleasure and fantasies !!
I love the way y'all play the song then commentate, instead of stopping comment etc, great job, loving this channel

Love you 2, seem real, down to earth folks.👍
Imaginary lover. Story of my life.
"Homesick" is a great song by ARS. They really crank up the rock in this one!
May be my favorite from them.
Just the music is so powerful
I would never have thought that! As a woman myself I would have thought like Tasha! Tasha, you and I and the other women don't think like men do!
My father in law on drums...RIP Robert

Their Greatest Hits album was a great compilation of just how good The Babys were. Good stuff…. Bad English wasn’t bad either.
Agreed!@@ronaldelliott4373
OMG. LMAO, Beating his meat is exactly what this is about. Tasha is such a lady but her shyness is so endearing.
You are right, however this is a great song and all their songs are jams. Please listen to more of their songs. Champagne Jam , so into you, spooky , just to name a few
Try Undercover Angel by Alan O'Day. I always thought it was of a similar vein.

That is the way my friends and I took it as well back when it came out. 😂
When this came out, a radio DJ discovered that if you sped the turntable up from 331/3 to almost 45 rpm, it sounded like Fleetwood Mac.
I agree with Tasha
Yep, imaginary lovers. Left and Right! Always there, always cares
Especially right.
there is no other way to think about this song, i am almost 70, and knew what this song was about from the title, and the lyrics confirmed that,,,,,,,, and if you didnt you lived in a vanilla world

You should follow this up with a song called 'Donald and Lydia' by the great singer-songwriter John Prine.
GREAT STUFF guys keep rocking
Pre-Internet. Before the days of Porwn Hub.
Self pleasure,yes. You nailed it.
Ringo Starr sang " what do you see when you turn out the lights, I can't tell you I just know that it's mine. Brilliant and funny.
He's correct. Go back to the lines in the 1st verse: "It's my private pleasure. Midnight fantasy."
Oh,and the songs absolutely about whackin it lol
Hauntingly smooooth
He is right on!!!
My man singing about squeezing one off 🤣🤣🤣
When my guy figured out what they were talking about tho.... 😂

The look on her face with that realization

Great band I’ve been a ARS fan for years and T you are spot on in your assessment Tasha’s to good to think like we do so sorry Tasha
I love this song. I've had to use my imagination all my life.

ARS I'M NOT GONNA LET IT BOTHER ME TONIGHT
An ol' favourite from 1972
Hi, guys. I'm sure you would like "Spooky" by the Atlanta Rhythm Section.
Yeah well it happens. Great reaction
Fantacy...
If filthy as in a no hitter then yes !
Yep, it's about choking the chicken.
Spooky another great one
