Hi Sarah, I've just binge watched your entire Mister Dos series, it's great to see an MR2 gone through in so much detail, you're extremely lucky to have a rust free example and its been an absolute joy to watch, not to mention you have a fantastic personality and sense of humour. If Carlsberg made the perfect woman...
Your patience is amazing with your knowledge of wiring!!! If I could learn half of what you know I would be SOOOOOOO happy working on the inside of my vehicles!!!! LOVE what you do!!! Thank you for sharing your time with us!!!!!!💖💖
You are about 4-6 years into my future. Me watching your videos is my way of looking in the future and seeing (with a bit of imagination) how my project cars would look like in the future. Lol Well Done!
You are a real "spaghetti-artist" with all those wires! I admire your skills! Please give the TT a chance! It deserves it! You give me the most positive comfort during lock down period! Have fun! in AZ. Regards from the NL!
Don’t give up!!! My TT cam belt snapped whilst driving, 7 valves later new forged con rods and bigger hybrid turbo. Engine is finally in and running so worth it now! Get that clutch and flywheel done it’s not as bad as you think
Hang in there Sweetcakes. My TT did the same thing after sitting for nearly a year. The smoke stopped after about a 10-15 minute drive. I hope to see more on the German nightmare. Stay positive, stay safe, and most of all stay Sarah...
The quails stole the show but you are still the star. Glanced over the comments and there is a LOT of love out there for you and from me too. I started watching cause of the MR2(maybe the greatest car ever) but just keep coming back cause you are funny, smart, dedicated, creative, and very easy on the eyes. 250k coming up and I know you will go 1M. You got what it takes girlfriend, no doubt! Love ya and wish you the best!
I have a 2002 TT Coupe Quattro. I found your channel while looking for info on TT suspension. Love your vids, keep it up and DO NOT give up on the TT! I think I'm keeping my suspension stock but renewing all the rubber parts. I'm considering doing a Milltek cat-back resonated exhaust, too, not too loud but just for a bit of growl. Mine has only +/- 62k miles on it.
Just stumbled onto your channel, nearly cruised past but watched your review of the Supra - now I understand why you've got such a following. Such a normal natural way of presenting - breath of fresh air compared to so many "look at me" UA-camrs. And you know your stuff! Keep it up. Subscribed.
I upgraded both subs in my 94 (93+ has two factory subs) with Tang Band 5.25" subs. Several writeups out there on them. They sound great and use the factory boxes.
If you go more than 80%(some car are differents in that percentage) on the throttle it cut the injector to unflood the engine some will even firing to help, some don't. You can pump it but just dont go to the floor if you want to start, but you can use this feature to prime the engine oil too, got some help with a booster or charge the battery before. I did that on an early 90's car, it had a oil pressure gauge and was fuel injected, floored it crank 2 times for about 10s and got oil pressure then crank it normaly
The TT was how I found this channel! I was like oh oh audi! I never thought someone would go to the depths, I do for cars! Kertoppel tot! haha! The light burning of oil is probably from sitting not started for a while. The oil rings at the bottom of the stack haven't been seated against the cylinder wall for a while... Or Valve guide seals. :| It should go away after warming up.. I wonder if they make a lightened solid flywheel? I know they do for the 1.8ts
I've had a similar experience with my s3. Spent large parts of the last 18 months sat as it needed a lot of work doing such as turbo, clutch etc. It had never smoked before then when it was used daily. I've used it a little more often recently after all the work was finished and it's gradually stopped puffing out random blue whisps. I just don't think these older cars like sitting. Seals can go hard over time without use
All those great wiring trouble shooting skills you learned came in real handy, glad the swamp cooler is back up! No matter what the TT road trip home vid was pretty epic. xo
Oh - an episode I somehow missed - did not think they existed. Nice! - Ah, that song that come on at like 10:10 is like sounding so close to one of my all-time favorites; Stripped by Depeche Mode - those who made it must have sampled parts of that song... Great video - thank you for what you do and Stay Awesome!
I think I need to get one of those subwoofers and some door speakers for my 99 Civic Si. I've lived with the meek factory stereo for 21 years now. You might have inspired me 🙂
I don't know a lot about cars, but I do know audio. Set the low pass back at 100hz and just turn the input down. 35 to 100hz is subwoofer range.(I'm actually surprised that anything was coming out of that tiny sub with the low pass set at 35hz. Big double 18" concert PA subs don't go much lower than that.) If that head unit has the ability, set a high pass at 100hz for the door speakers. That way the door and the sub aren't both pumping out the same frequencies. Much cleaner sound that way. Love your channel. Keep up the excellent work.
gotta a sound test youd enjoy. try these sounds fall from the bucketheads and then try deep inside from hard drive. couple trks from the 90's you may of forgot but will enjoy !
Had problems with valve stem seals on my Camaro a long time ago. But when I started the engine, it was a white smoke that came out of the exhaust. Not blue.
The Car Wizard has videos about decarbonizing the valves. Also, the variable runner intake manifold has these doors inside of it that get sticky with carbon buildup. So the cylinder head and intake manifold may be the issue with the burning oil .
For the radio wiring I would have purchased Metra Reverse Harness Part # 71-1761. That would be the factory style connector coming out of the dash. You could have then soldered that into the factory wiring. So when you installed a radio you would buy Metra Harness Part # 70-1761, that you would wire to the new stereo's harness so it just plugs into the factory wiring.
Yeah if you really enjoy your music its a great idea to add a sub in your car to fill out the low end. Doesn't have to be some monster set up just like an 8" or 10" will do. Most mid range door speakers will cut off around 40-60hz depending on quality. You need something to cover that 50-0hz range. You would be surprised how much you are missing in a song not hearing all the music covered in that range. Given the limited space and no trunk or rear deck available i think you made a great choice Sarah.
I have the same motor and my car sat because I was rebuilding it after a wreck and what happens is some oil pools up in the intake manifold because of the garbage pcv system. It's pretty normal with the 1.8t
A simple Oil Catch Can would help a lot to eliminate start up smoke. It keeps blow by and valve seal oil from entering your intake, clean burn = no smoke.
You will need some sound deaderner at the doors... It much more effective than having the sub woofer. The sound deaderner will reduce the door panel vibration and prevent frequency lose...
My tt has jush been sat during our loockdown in UK, its just had the odd start and drive out of garage, I did notice a blueness to the smoke while I sat it on drive running, also smelt of a dry kettle on heat, took it for a short run around block and it came back fine with no blue smoke. Let's face it a drop of oil burning can make quite a bit of smoke, I wouldn't worry on a car of that age and miles unless it's burning more oil than the hand book states. Certainly won't burn oil like my sapphire cosworth did.
I remember from a previous video you mentioned breaking your brand new Apple Watch, and I don’t know when you were able to replace it, but I am pleased to see one very visible while you were wiring under the dash.
Sarah, at 9:05 I love how your nails color matches the accent color of your cars touchscreen perfectly 👌😁. Keep up your awesome attitude and videos and be safe!
Just leave the car on jack stands / wood blocks when leaving it parked for really long periods of time. That will keep your tires nice and round. The blue smoke is normal oil does sip through the seals. It burns off after a few minutes. I turn an old small block 350 about once a year once I did it for 2 years and the blue smoke was insane for ya few minutes!
I am ready to see the TT being worked on again, you are so close to having everything on it replaced and ready to be a fun weekend car. If not I am looking to buy if you sell it.
Really enjoy watching your vids, Im currently working on a JDM MR2 turbo that needs a lot of love and patience. So your vids are really helpful. Great content Sara. Also I'm a viewer from The Bahamas!
I think that it’s Usually the turbo seals that cause that at idle because of a little bit of oil seepage during no boost they the stock turbo seals are designed to be most effective under boost, but not so much at idle, at least that’s what mechanics told me about my TT.
Pumping the pedal on most FI cars works as expected up to 80% (ish) TPS, after that they are usually mapped for zero fuel allowing you to put the pedal to the floor and turn it over to clear any flooding😉
YAY Im glad you revived your work on the TT. I was really bummed when i saw you seemed like you were giving up on it. I also have a 2005 TT Quattro with the 6speed. My TT is the best car I have ever had as far as cornering performance. I just ordered a Hybrid billet turbo has the rs6 CHRA making it a 46/62 exducer/compressor. Still bolts up to the stock manifold. Im using the eurodyne maestro 7 to tune it. What system/tuner are you using for your tuning?
The sound the Audi makes when its trying to start....sounds like the old cartoon characters when they're starting to run, but haven't started moving yet. @12:21 😄
oh my , i was underneath the dash of my 1970 fury convertible this morning doing some wiring and oh lordy lord did i hate it lol ...the fuselage may look big but once u end up under the dash its quite tight
You might want to secure the bass speaker to the compartment somehow. Maybe add additional foam either side? It could rattle around in there when cornering. I've seen how you drive. 😂
@@SarahnTuned Get another lid and multi drill it so you can let the sound out. Add a cover made from speaker grille material. They are meant to go under the seat so they massage your bum. Perhaps better under the passenger one so you can keep your mind on the driving.
@@SarahnTuned Love the work you've been showing on The 2. Wish I had found earlier. I'm a bit past the beginning of starting the very same project 91T. Your vids have answered some questions I've had about which way/mod I should go with. Hope it's still running strong. I had a q about the TT through - are those the stock wheels from audi? I actually got something very similar looking for my 2, OZ Ultraleggera's(spelling not sure). Anyway, enjoy all the work your doing
Hey Sarah , awesome to see you messing around with the TT 😎👍 I have a first gen Audi tt s line, just did a motor swap on it had the 180hp in it and put the 225hp motor in it . Such a challenging car to work on no room anywhere 😂 but such a fun little car to drive though. I love my( tater tot ) 👍😎 love the videos , keep up the awesome work .👍😉😎😎
I'd bet the puffs of blue smoke are just the PCV system dealing with lots of excess moisture in the crankcase from sitting. I've had plenty of vehicles sit a while and blow blue smoke for a bit, then clean up, I wouldn't worry about it.

Love watching your videos, you are so real, so honest and omg so gorgeous! Your cars are so OCD clean too, absolutely love that. Would you ever do a steel bumper 60's muscle car resto mod??
Yay!! Happy Monday Sarah!!🤪 Damn you!! Now while out and about I find myself counting Gumps, and whenever I see a TT, I say out loud in my best Little Sarah voice, "Teeter Tot!!"😁 You're vids are great, as always, stay excellent.
Funny, it just reminded me I bought one of these when my car was new, and it has been lying in its box for the last 6 years. Oh, and a 17cm Focal kit for the doors too.. Yeah, I'm that lazy.
It can be bluish though, I guess it's the amount of oil that it's burning. But it's most likely either those or the piston rings stuck. And if they're stuck, they either start working when they get oil or not. Hey @Sarah -n- Tuned, have you replaced the oil filter mesh thing at the oil pan? It tends to get clogged and the oil pressure drops and... you know the rest.
With the low pass filter set at 31hz the subwoofer is doing almost nothing. Most music doesn’t go below 30hz anyway. Try 60 to 80 hz and set the front speaker high pass to the same
Don't give up on the TT! That's the reason why I started watching your channel.
Except that it's an Audi. Audi's never stop falling apart.

Try 60 to 80 hz and set the front speaker high pass to the same
Not only IS the Sarah cool, but the Sarah also ENABLES the cool via the electrical knowledges!
