I'm so excited about this series. Let's make this your *ULTIMATE GUIDE ON CAREERS IN MARKETING* . Let me know which specific field you are interested in so I make sure to cover it in the later videos! ⬇️
Hello! Could you talk about marketing and law in any way? The legal side etc. I am a law grad thinking about making a change! Would a law background help in any way? Thank you so much, so happy I have found your channel ☺️
I’m a marketing & communications coordinator and it’s totally true that I have to wear several different hats for my role.... things like social media management, copy writing, event management and some admin work too! It’s a versatile job but can also limit the amount of time and effort I can put into each division. I’d love to experiment with paid ads in the future but my company unfortunately is not at that point in our social media yet.
I did a google digital marketing course and i decided to settle for just social media management instead. The headaches of a marketer doing everything and still not getting goals scares me
Brilliant video!! To the point, clear, precise and very informative. I say all of above because for a layman( in marketing) like me, I found a broad insight into "What is marketing in today's world all about? " I am a 100 percent techie by profession and my daughter wants to pursue a career in marketing even though she has a tech bachelor's degree looking forward to do a MS in Marketing. Great video for me as well as my daughter, to understand career paths in marketing. Looking forward to more videos from you. 👍
I just started looking into a career in digital marketing and it is a very overwhelming field with a ton of areas to look into and learn. I'm so grateful for this video ,it helped me look into what each field of study actually means and narrow down my interests . I'm excited to go down this rabbit hole of marketing!
Hi me as well! Pursued marketing as my major but since I interned for my brothers insurance company I got distracted and ended up in that field post graduation. Trying to break into a marketing career now, not much experience but still have a degree
@@eagle7619 good luck! I just made my first website a month ago and it was so fun! Still trying to find a way to break in as a career. Any good tips you learn along the way lemme know :)
Thank you! This video was a life saver! For the longest time I’ve been looking for a video to give a general breakdown of the different sectors of marketing.
Great video, Elif! Good that you made the call out on what people could expect when going into marketing depending on the size (or stage) of the organization. You're absolutely right in that some people are hired for x role, but end up doing mostly y. For some marketing roles, there can be alot of overlap.
4 роки тому+2
Precisely. I know some people would already know that info if they've experienced working in different organizations but majority isn't aware of it and I think setting out the right expectations is key into career planning.
As someone who minored in social media marketing and now works as a coordinator, I touch on a lot of these principles in my everyday role! Do not expect a straight role within this field. I take on way more than my job description and pay wage. Thank you for this video! I realize that while I don’t have direct SEO/SEM experience.. I have the others, making me a strong digital marketing candidate. 🤞🏽🤞🏽
I’ve been a marketing assistant mostly on digital marketing, graphic designs for marketing materials, and social media marketing for 2 years and I’m wondering what should I do next or recommended? I’ve applied to over 100 jobs and no offer. I’m thinking of going to take digital marketing program or do freelance.
Elif what you are talking about in this video is mostly marketing communication, which is okay, but it is only one P of the classical 4P areas. I just want to highlight that communication is a rather narrow field of marketing, which is unfortunately a common stereotype among non-marketing in the society. As a matter of fact, the main areas of marketing also cover consumer behaviour research, marketing strategy, segment management, product development, pricing, distribution channels management, customer care, user experience, customer touchpoints management, marketing logistics, merchandising etc. It would be great to see once a video also on the full picture.

this video is focused on career paths and common roles in marketing, not marketing methods and how to execute a marketing strategy. I'm afraid you were just looking for an opportunity to criticize someone with a nonsense comment and you picked me. we don't have to agree on definitions of marketing and you don't have to watch my content if it doesn't bring you value. but you don't get to judge my understanding or knowledge of marketing.
@ thank you for your answer. I apologize if I was too picky, I didn't meant to. I have improved my comment a bit to be clear that I didn't mean to judge you - I only wanted to highlight that communication is just a rather narrow field of marketing, despite of its poor reputation in the society -- unfortunately most people believe that marketing equals advertising. Have a nice day, and thank you for your content!
Hi! We at Consumerchoice are still looking for interns in the field of marketing. If you are interested, you can send an email to internship@consumerchoice.com
I really like your video! I just have a question what's the difference between content marketing and marketing graphic design? I feel like making content and designing seems same to me. your content helps me a lot as a digital marketing student in Japan! Thank you!
content marketing It's something like create the video or photos I think, and graphic design is more like edition of that content, photography, videography, adobe, after effects, etc
Thanks for the video. May you help me to understand the demand generation marketers? I thought all marketers are generating the demand
4 роки тому
Hey Vladislav! I understand why you might be thinking that way - happy to explain. Not all marketers are tasked with demand gen goals. Ultimately, the goal of marketing is to drive traffic, leads and revenue. But demand generation managers are specifically focused on establishing demand gen strategies then working with other marketing team members.

I have a question, since social media marketing has to do with social media does that mean that Social Media influencers (Instagram influencers etc) are a part of the Social Media marketing Team?
3 роки тому+2
Great question. Answer is no - social media influencers aren't titled as social media marketers in marketing organizations. The influencer relationship managers/partnership managers (titles always vary) could be a part of the SM team (but don't have to be). So not the influencers but the people who reach out and work with influencers. However pls note that it doesn't have to be categorized under social media marketing - you can find it as 'partners marketing' or 'PR' too.
im a good student and i focus in class, yet i feel like i cant do any of these and wouldn't be up for it. anyone else??

working is simply very different than school. But don't let information overwhelm you. You can and will be able to do whatever you choose in the future.
I'm new to your channel but I've been watching many of your videos. I hope this isn't offensive and I don't know if it's because you're talking a little faster than usual, but your accent seems almost nonexistent in this video compared to the older videos I've watched. I had to double check your name to make sure I didn't end up on someone else's channel lol.
