over the summer, i thought it would be a good idea to rank ans revisit some former crushes- fictional characters from #Broadway musicals.
I made a #TierList and ranked these Broadway boyfriends based on how good of a real life man they would be to date. for me. at the time.
and now we're doing it again, but this time with the ~ladies~
I'll be ranking fictional musical theatre characters based on how good of a brunch-crew girlfriend i think they would be. We're talking Elle Woods, Veronica Sawyer, Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy (of the Schuyler sisters) and MORE!
((Just a reminder-- like I mention in the video, we're ranking fictional broadway characters not the actors who portray them. that would be invasive and unnecessary and i think i would explode into confetti because i adore all of them so much & I would love to go to brunch with literally all of them)

My top brunch people:
-Jenna (Waitress): she probably knows the best places for breakfast pies or she’d host great brunches on her own. Plus she’d be supportive of life choices and romantic interests
-Joanne (rent): Joanne is sassy, cool, and smart so the conversations would be great. Side note: no to Maureen because she’d flirt with the waiter/waitress which would make brunch awkward.
-Elle Woods (legally blonde): I can have smart conversations and girly conversations with her plus I’m not opposed to a dog being present.
-Katherine Howard, Catherine Parr, Anne of Cleves (six the musical): realistically all the girls would be welcome but these three are the ones who’d be the most fun and supportive to me.
-Lola (kinky boots): realistically Lola in and out of drag would be a good time.

I think it depends on what time of year it is, if it’s Spring/summer, she won’t even mention her husband, she’s making sure everyone is having a great time and keeping the glasses full in a fun, unpredictable way.
If it’s fall/winter, it’ll probs be windy alcoholic who you want to help but can’t, so you just feel like an enabler
for those exact reasons you wouldn’t want to have brunch with persephone i would want to have brunch with persephone. girl bring on that wine cuz we be needing that 😂

I'm a big commentary youtube fan! I've watched people like Danny Gonzalez, Drew Gooden, Kurtis Conner, and Cody Ko (basically any of the ex-viners who are actually funny) for years but I've recently started watching other channels like Contrapoints and hbomberguy. And to answer the QOTD- i think it would be fun to go to brunch with Nadia from Bare but I'm also barely teetering over the line of ppl she'd think are cool and people she would absolutely roast the crap out of haha

Morticia Addams: So sexy I might feel bad, but also so chill and kind that she’ll make me want to be better. Also, love the macabre humor and who doesn’t want a goth friend who has constant, passionate and bondage-filled sex with a perfect man? Knowing that it’s possible is enough

QOTD: Katherine Plumber. Not only have I BEEN obsessed with her since I was 12, but I feel like she has stories and she just has so much personality that I feel like it wouldn’t get boring. We also both love to write, although our ‘ genres ‘ of writing are different. The only thing is I can imagine her being very in the know about politics and current events and stuff and, while I don’t live under a rock, idk if I’d be able to relate enough to keep a conversation going.

Watching Bernadette Banner, Abby Cox, Rachel Maxie and Morgan Donner. Bcause Lindsey Ellis, Contrapoints and Philosophy Tube are so meticulous in their preparations that they only upload every month or so, also because I love watching other people making clothes.

QOTD: My brunch is separated into 2 periods, Half hour 1: Gossip and Girl time, and Half Hour 2: Therapy.
My Full Time Crew is Angelica, Trina, Elle Woods, and Barbara Maitland. Angelica definitely has great stories and we know she can party so she's invited to HH1, and for HH2 we know that she will be a voice of reason and gets a lot of joy out of helping people. Elle Woods is just wonderful at everything so she's coming to both. Trina is coming because I just love her energy and humor, and I feel like she could really benefit from some healthy female friendship. Barbara is coming because she's the quirkiest queen, and will endlessly support everyone.
First Half Hour we have Maria Von Trapp, who is only there for the first 30 minutes because she's a busy gal. She's definitely bringing her kids so the mothers of our group can have some escapism by living vicariously in her perfect family. Eliza is coming to HH1 because she just needs some time to chill, and I feel like she wants to deal with her problems on her own. Fiona from Shrek is coming because she is gonna hype all of us up and I think its time we explore her quirky side from being locked in a tower for 23 years. Factory Girl 5 is also coming to HH1 because every group needs that one who is a horrible person but owns it and has all the gossip.
Second Half Hour we have Cosette. She's super supportive and kind, and isn't going to make everything about herself. Gretchen from Mean Girls is coming too because she needs an example of how a healthy group of friends functions. Gretchen will be our token "Teen Girl from Contemporary Musical Theater" because she isn't going to make herself the focal point of the conversation, which I think a lot of other girls in that category would. Grace from Annie is coming too because she needs to get out of her mansion and interact with women her own age. Catherine Parr is coming for HH2 because she will be so supportive, and she is great at getting groups of ladies to work cohesively.
That was very long but I think it's pretty comprehensive. I will be taking suggestions and incorporating them if I believe they are worthy.

I’m having brunch with all of the Les Mis girls (not Madame thenardier tho, don’t trust her around Cosette), then Emma Carew and Lucy Harris. We’d make a nice group (in my dreams)
omg, the drunk girl bathroom bond is so sacred! our fully-vaxxed "celebration" was to go to Trader Joe's, and we had a moment talking with some random girls in the store. it was SO GOOD
I don't remember seeing her in your list (it is pretty late though, and my brain is tired, so forgive me if I just missed her), but I think Peggy Sawyer from 42nd Street would be a fun gal to have brunch with! She is upbeat, would have all the fun rehearsal stories from backstage, and probably would be the one getting up and breaking into random song or dance.
I would also include Persephone (Hadestown), Barbara (Beetlejuice), Diane, Beulah, & Beverly Bass (Come From Away).
...or you know what? Any of the ladies from Come From Away would be delightful to have for brunch. I would happily just eat brunch with all of them. X)

I’d brunch with Elle, Angelica, Eliza, Vanessa, Nina, all the In The Heights ladies really, Jenna, and Karen. I really need people who are nice and understanding because morning me before food/drink is grumpy.

Honestly, I could go for brunch with Christine Canigula from Be More Chill. I relate to her a lot. She's a theatre kid, she's an energetic dork who likes to make silly noises, she's passionate about things like feminism and gun control, she's neurodivergent, she's really spirited and really comfortable being herself and all but she has her fair share of insecurities--I just feel like I have a lot in common with her and we could get along pretty well.
I also think Janis and Cady from Mean Girls would be cool to hang out with.
