I personally like Lee Smolin’s take on the multiverse. The idea is really elegant to me. Black holes birth new universes, and the universes that are better at forming black holes (and stars, matter, life etc) are naturally selected for. It does explain why the constants of the universe are “just right” for the formation of life.
Wow, just last week was checking - to be sure - how the channel was doing and joined the Discord. And here you are with a new video! Looking forward to this, thank you in advance!
Nah… it’s only one. But here’s the biggest question; WHAT does our universe, or multiverses (if one believes there are many) reside WITHIN? Everything is typically contained within something (earth is contained within the solar system, the solar system within the Milky Way, the Milky Way within galaxy clusters, galaxy clusters within dark matter, dark matter within the universe, etc)… but what is the universe contained within? It started somewhere but when it started what was that point of origin contained within? This is the one question that absolutely bothers me to no end and keeps me awake at night. I can deal with tornadoes, white shark attacks, bears breaking into my home for pop tarts left out on the kitchen table by my 8 year old nephew when they sleep over… but I can NOT deal with the fact we are all just floating along in a rapidly expanding universe that ends nowhere… where does space begin / end? If you think this through, it will keep you up too. 😅
30:10 what if the multiverse isn’t even ruled by *that*? Maybe ‘illogical’ concepts that seem contradictory to us are just incompatible with our local logical system. Maybe there are entire separate multiverses where 2 + 2 = 5 and that actually makes sense to the people living there.
SEA is back! Feels like it has been so long since a video SEA has done that isn’t giving us history about a piece of technology and more of a philosophical theoretical video. I think HOTU took the top spot from SEA the past 1.5 yrs, but this video brings him back to what kind of videos he should be doing.

Fantastic as always, a great capture of detailed information, current theories, and ideas to explain what we have, as well as some of the fringe elements that are still holding traction for us to consider.
SEA videos are so good I save them for the weekend. I think that if there is a creator then the most efficient theory is the correct one. The problem with a lot of the theories right now is they have gaping holes in their logic or some things that are required are physically impossible at least with what we know right now. I personally think it's likely that other universes exist but I would rather wait until some holes are patched to presume which one is correct. Amazing video seriously ❤️

While this video explores the fascinating ideas of a multiverse and the infinity of the universe, it also points out that the cosmology community is still quite cautious about embracing an unbounded cosmos. This makes me wonder, are we being overly cautious in embracing new discoveries, or are scientists genuinely trying to protect established theories? Where should we draw the line between open-minded science and the necessary caution to avoid venturing too far into baseless speculation?

About the multiverse... I do believe there is a multiverse but I don't believe there are other versions of us. For example if my grandfather meets my grandmother at a fair, what if in another universe he doesn't end up at the fair and they never get together. Then my whole family will cease to exist.
