Hey Fishyyy! I just wanted to ask if there any cockpit mods you use? Because I want to get into 1946 but the cockpits look really bad. Tnx for reading my comment!
As a predominantly P-38 pilot in 1946 myself I truly appreciate seeing the Lightning flown in your videos! Thank you. I did notice that drop tanks on the fighters were not released prior to combat which is SOP for myself (and historically) for optimum performance in a fight. Doesn't seem to have hurt them so far in the video, although I'm almost halfway through. Just an interesting observation 🤔
... Fortresses and Lightnings. Or, if you follow the Crabby audio track, effings and blindings! Saw there was a new movie and watched it without reading the description first; I was expecting something from the Italian campaign in '44, so the A6Ms came as a big surprise
@@Ryan-ed1lq Maybe I should have corrected him; I was just happy to see that people were enjoying my efforts. I'm sorry if my reply seemed rude to you.
As a fan of japanese planes (their twin engine fighters are really interesting) I always wondered if they are "worth" playing for you guys, like the Ki-43 looks like a joy to fly (light, maneuverable, etc) but fighting in it... Also in terms of variety, maybe the game is not suitable for some types of missions? Anyway the visuals look awesome again, nice vid ^^
@@tommyiseppi6276 xaxaxaxa me too but I wanna keep mein precious space and ypack might be better but also 4g philippine internet will make each 7z file download take an entire day
what keeps you coming back to this game, after all these years? what makes it so special that you keep on playing? for me it is nostalgia, my father and i played around with it way back when i was a kid. i don't understand what's keeping you glued to this game...
@@MrSomebodyyyy98 It's not the best looking nor is it the most realistic, it's not the most stable either... the only thing that this game truly excels at is being iconic as fuck and having 500 or so flyable planes by default, not including planes you can add via mods.
@@sakalaath get it on GOG, they have two versions of the game. The earlier 1946 is what you need to download the BAT World at World from SAS. Fishyy and others here can tell you about the amazing content that all of these mods have created. Really exciting stuff with 1946!
@@sakalaath Get an external hard-drive. The mods are quite incredible. I have a crappy Dell XPS 13--yeah, it's an overhyped laptop that is now outdated--and the WAW mod makes Il2 1946 turn into a game that I dreamed about in the days of Microprose and Lucas Arts (when they made great adventure games and flight/space sims). Even the sound is better from the original game (I got il2 when it was just called sturmovik). Hearing the roar of a multi-engine bomber is quite the experience. I waited a while to get a new joystick, and when I finally got my Thrustmaster--il2 with mods was my first foray back into aviation. The ONE thing that would make the il2 experience better... would be a story line to hold the campaign missions together. Even something animated/ hand drawn. B-17 has story depth that would be cool to see in il2. That said, the mods are worth it for il2.

One of the only channel that make quality IL2 1946 videos on UA-cam. Man what would we do without you.
My night is set, drink, snacks, eyes glued! When the notification for fishyyy pops up, everything stops and I'm there. 👍🏻

It’s a video game you freak
The sound mod for the radio is excellent
30:11 - Nice shot, Crabby.

More Japanese content, awesome! I think I flew a similar mission in Aces of the Pacific, haha
I loved your video essay style video.

Yes, I love almost any fighter or bomber in World War Two that has two engines or more!
Always Remember the black sheep squadron episode hot shot.with the army air force guys flying P38.
Kannst du mal ein Video mit dem Horton ho 229 machen ? Ich habe noch ne Frage kann man das Spiel auch auf Windows 7 und 8 spielen?
Great !, Looking forward to flying one of these realistic length missions with you dudes soon.
It's strangelove btw :)

Hey Fishyy love your content! Just wanna ask how do you make it that german planes have swastikas?
Any modpack (like BAT, VP, or YPack) or mod activator (like SAS MA 5.3 or 6.4) will enable the swastikas on German planes.
