    On most OM642 engines, you don't have to remove the whole fuel filter bracket. You can use an allen wrench to loosen the bracket at its pinch point, pry it a bit open, and lift the whole fuel filter out while the bracket stays in place.

    do you have to replace the air bleeder screw after putting back the old water sensor into the new fuel filter? Where can I find the air bleeder screw that compatible to this filter? Thanks

    Absolutely massive appreciation for anyone who takes the time to share knowledge on youtube, as such I hope you take this constructive criticism well. Please do not increase background music volume when not speaking. The music choice was excellent, but each time the music volume went loud, it was jarring. I also wish I saw the bleeding procedure on camera, but I still understood what you were saying without seeing it. Thanks again. You are saving me money.

    Regarding the priming with the hose - that's not necessary as long as the "default" priming process works. Turn ignition on (but not the engine) two or three times, until no air bubbles are heard.

    Congratulations on the video! helped me a lot! I just did not understand if you have to remove the air when assembling the fuel filter after assembly? I didn't understand because I couldn't see what you did with that hose and that red platinum.

      Hi, thanks for the feedback.
      So all you need to do is connect the hose, loosen the bleed screw on filter and then switch the key to the furtherest point to activate fuel pump (dont start the car), do this a few times until no air is seen exiting the tube into your container (my container was red) and then its all done.

      @@ifixedit7909 Hello, my 2007 w164 320cdi has fuel filter but WITHOUT bleed screw. Assuming air exiting can be done disconnecting the smaller diameter hose and I done partial release of fuel and air until it fills the entire fuel filter___ Any ideas if this is the only way to de-aerates the fuel line? Thanks in advance.

    Hey mate if you can help me ! I have w204 with OM642 engine, I’m trying to change DPF sensor but I couldn’t find it !

    • @ifixedit7909
      @ifixedit7909  10 місяців тому

      Hi, The dpf is going to be located very close to the engine bay side of exhaust so the dpf will be up near the firewall of the car, the dpf temperature sensor which i presume you are after, should be located in the centre of the dpf (large bulge in exhaust) any sensors before and after the dpf will be most likely o2 sensors. I cannot show you unfortunately as i do not have a car similar with a dpf. Hope that somehow helps you.

  • @karldingbat

    Those clips are pex clips, you reuse them, they will leak, really is it worth saving pence to not replace clips. Shody at best!

    • @ifixedit7909
      @ifixedit7909  2 роки тому

      Yes i agree, if you have some on hand and are not gentle when removing them replace them. In saying that, i have re-used them in my personal cars for over 10 years and never had a leak..

    • @karldingbat
      @karldingbat 2 роки тому

      @@ifixedit7909 i would hate to have happen to some1 else what happened to me, i reused a pex clip a few years ago on a customers car and it leaked fuel onto an exhaust manifold, result was a fire, luckily it was put out very fast but i almost got sued for that, cost a lot of my money to fix up, so never, no matter what will i ever do it again.

    • @ifixedit7909
      @ifixedit7909  2 роки тому +1

      @@karldingbat i agree, would not re-use on a customers car. My personal cars only as i said above and have not had an issue, you must have damaged the collar on it and you always return them in the same position they came off on the hose, so no new pressure spots, like any clamp, unless its a new hose.
