Everyone bigging up having Pep as England manager, i don't deny he is arguably the best premiership manager of all time, but how long did it take him to win the champions league with City? With an international tournament every 2 years and with consistent teams like France, Argentina, Spain, Brazil, and Germany kicking about the likelyness he will get us over the line is not very high. and so little margin for error he would be out after 2 tournaments. He wont stick about and probably go to Saudi. Having said that, Pep is probably the best option out there.
I highly doubt it. I didn't watch this video, but it made me express my opinion right away. I don't think Guardiola will ever take the spot for a national team other than Spain. He has that kind of pride. More so, if his beloved Catalonia was a country, then he'd probably accept the coaching role for it.
Pep Guardiola - Why can't he manage City and England. Honestly in FIFA Manager the PC game it works. Jokes aside though, how hard is the job of a national coach really? Let's be serious. They meet up the best players of a country for a friendly, and for a game once every 4-5 months. It's not like you have to coach the national team every day, think what transfers are going on, don't have to think about 3-4 competitions, it's only World Cup and Euros every 4 years. If anyone can do it - Pep can have a club and national job.
I agree 💯%. National football especially in qualifying when you have easier games, no need to stress. Get the team, train them once let them play a game then back to club football. Not that hard
Club managing/coaching is a full on job, that’s stressful enough without having to do the extra tasks of the national team manager. Could he do it? Yes, but why would he want the extra stress and lose the time at his club?
I wouldn't care if Pep was from another universe, nevermind country. If he wants it, he gets it. Beyond that, think it's good sense to give Carsley a look. Keep the progression going through our coaching set up.
Maybe I’m missing something - but why is this even a question. Why would either manager want a team other than their national one to win a tournament? Just because they work here doesn’t give them any allegiance to this country
Eddie Howe would be my first choice, if not him thwn perfectly happy with Lee Carsley. Definitely not a foreign manager just because they're a big name.
Could actually imagine Pep being interested in the England job because it offers a unique challenge, the first person to win a trophy with England, the home of football, for 60 years . There's no obvious next club for him and becoming the Spain manager he cant really achieve anything new.. he would be expected to win everything and would seen as a failure if he didn't, so perhaps not really an attractive option.
I would say the obvious challenge for him is to manage in Italy and get someone like milan or internazionale back to the top playing his brand of football. I could also see him being attracted to managing a top brazilian or argentinian team. After that, maybe England or Spain manager. However, although I am sure he would be tempted for England and his family are probably quite settled here, I think he is too much of a purist to do that. And I honestly think the England manager should always be English.
Cant see Pep taking over b4 having a crack with Spain, moving into national coaching would be a good way to wind down his career due to the long gaps between fixtures

Pep would be good for England but England might not be good for Pep. If I was in his position - I'd assume he's not going to struggle for money in life - then maybe I'd find it very frustrating going from someone overseeing the development of players on a daily basis to someone with a watching brief who only gets to work with players occasionally. And the stakes are pretty high with England. A good deal of their fans have an attitude of ''2nd place is just first loser'' as though they have been following prime Brazil or some super team over their lives rather than a country with one major tournament win to their name almost 60 years ago, and that at home. There's a gap between expectations and results with....maybe not most England fans, but a not insignificant number of them. I think that's one reason why the job tends to attract second tier managers or managers for whom the England manager's job has been an early ambition (which, 99% of the time means English managers). You don't get much chance or time to build or coach and coaches like Guardiola have a lot of ideas about how they want players to play. There's no harm in asking but I'd be surprised if he took that job.
29:32 Absolutely loads of people would care. Oh, they couldn't win it with an English manager, had to get Pep to win it, blah, blah, blah. I do think it would be a much better feeling and make more sense if it was an English man at the helm. Maybe if we won it and then had a non English manager later on went on to win it, fair enough, but the first trophy after x amount of years, I think people would care, unfortunately. Anyway, it should be Eddie Howe, no matter what Newcastle fans say. 😂
Ferguson still has more trophies but I think I read that Guardiola has lost the least amount of finals he's been in of any manager. It's a hard one to calculate without trawling a load of numbers. It could easily be somebody like Mircea Lucescu or Jock Stein too.
Going for a Pep or Klopp is an absolute nonsense and completely undermines the entire point of international football. Not to mention it’s actually quite unfair given England can afford to pay so much more than *every* other nation. Why not just scrap international football completely and allow the transfer of players as well?
why the hell was there break dancing in this Olympics? Nothing against it, but how exactly is it conceived as a sport? What’s next? Singing? Theatre? Juggling? Spitting fire?
Pep is great for winning leagues. Not knockout tournaments. That perfectionism is counter productive when stakes are high. Zidane and Ancelotti win knockouts cause they keep cool and give their player freedom and belief. Plus players take often a year to get used to Peps style of play. Hows he gonna implement that with short windows?
@@spudgreg he's won 2 with arguably the best club team ever assembled in the last 30 years. Riijkard and Luis Enrique also won with that side btw. So Barcelona aside he s won one ucl in like 11 years. With teams that are serious contenders. Not really an outstanding record if you put it side by side with real madrid managers.
If a Guardiola England lost in the World Cup final, would that be a success or a failure?
failure
29:32 Absolutely loads of people would care. Oh, they couldn't win it with an English manager, had to get Pep to win it, blah, blah, blah. I do think it would be a much better feeling and make more sense if it was an English man at the helm. Maybe if we won it and then had a non English manager later on went on to win it, fair enough, but the first trophy after x amount of years, I think people would care, unfortunately. Anyway, it should be Eddie Howe, no matter what Newcastle fans say. 😂
Brexit MEANS Brexit 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧#winning
Does Pep have the best finals record though?
Ferguson still has more trophies but I think I read that Guardiola has lost the least amount of finals he's been in of any manager.
It's a hard one to calculate without trawling a load of numbers. It could easily be somebody like Mircea Lucescu or Jock Stein too.
Going for a Pep or Klopp is an absolute nonsense and completely undermines the entire point of international football. Not to mention it’s actually quite unfair given England can afford to pay so much more than *every* other nation. Why not just scrap international football completely and allow the transfer of players as well?
No foreign managers. EVER.
English people: never a foreign coach for England
Everyone else: agree 😂
Managing to talk about city without mentioning 115. Again.
Not long now Abu Dhabi FC....
why the hell was there break dancing in this Olympics? Nothing against it, but how exactly is it conceived as a sport?
What’s next? Singing? Theatre? Juggling? Spitting fire?
Pep is great for winning leagues. Not knockout tournaments.
That perfectionism is counter productive when stakes are high. Zidane and Ancelotti win knockouts cause they keep cool and give their player freedom and belief.
Plus players take often a year to get used to Peps style of play. Hows he gonna implement that with short windows?
How many champions leagues and other tournaments has pep won? What are you talking about 🤣
@@spudgreg he's won 2 with arguably the best club team ever assembled in the last 30 years. Riijkard and Luis Enrique also won with that side btw.
So Barcelona aside he s won one ucl in like 11 years. With teams that are serious contenders. Not really an outstanding record if you put it side by side with real madrid managers. I dont dispute his knack for winning leagues
micah aint sprayed his hairline on this week, proper weird behaviour that spraying on your hair.
PEP running a team of just English men hem are you sure?
I hope you guys are planning to apologize to Ten Hagg
Is this about golf or football????
Is it necessary to shout??
Getting a non English manager is embarrassing
