That player has a very solid and well built sound to it. I can see it's been rebuilt, but an original soundboard with that much "substance" is hard to duplicate. I too own a player, a Smith & Barnes from 1914. Has the same qualities. Your piano is beautiful. Thank you very much for sharing.

Love it, we used to have a player piano but the player did not work later I found it only needed a new belt My moms used to play some and finally my dad talked her into getting rid of it He had already burned a huge pile of piano rolls from the attic which had been my Grandma's But space was at a premium
miligatz yes sad for sure I watched those piano rolls burning and even though we had no immediate use for them it was sad but I no more than 10 years old in about 1958 or so would rather have given them to the junk shop on the next block and they didn't take up that much space anyway not like a piano oh well! thanx to you and people like you we can hear them
yeah for sure, actually 'used furinture and accroutments and just about anything that could bring in a dollar or back in the day a quarter maybe! I had seen piano rolls there One day I found one 45 Elvis - Don't Be Cruel bw Hound Dog and with the original sleeve with Elvis in a long tailed tux and a hound dog with a top hat and in black and white. I don't know if that sleeve is still packed away or not All the 45s I had I separated all the custom sleeves to keep them in top conditon and put the 45s in those heavy green sleeves they sold But I haven't seen the sleeves for many years
I enjoy this piano player. That Dixie song was a perfect candidate for my story like English Fortress and Virginia City that fictionally set in Nuevo Colombian Civil War with World War 1 and 2 armament from Axis and Allies respectively. The English Fortress that takes place in Proposed Operation Sea Lion when 8000 cavalry brigade of Nuevo Colombian People's Army sent to England to called up the Communist underground to revolt against Axis and Allied countries excluding Soviet Union to draw the Imperial Nuevo Colombian Army away from their homeland in order for People's Republic of Nuevo Colombia to turn the tide of Nuevo Colombian Civil War.
To get a player piano, you might try Ebay. If you keep trying, you might come up with one in your area. You might also try your local music store...someone may know of one.
One of the best Anthems ever!

the tone quality of this is amazing! the bass is loud but not overpowering and the whole spectrum has that old piano sound I am in love with.
Hoorah! from the great state of Tennessee! thank-you for playing it!
Just moved to Tennessee from Maryland! God bless the Dixie

Good memories of playing and singing along with teenage friends.

miligatz I can imagine! It's really cool of you to share, I love it!

That's a pretty interesting alternate timeline, sounds pretty intricate and well thought out, how is it going today?
I remember the ragtime (This likes a ragtime style).

Don’t support slavery but gotta admit the beat was so good. So good the abolitionists borrowed it
Why do people consider this song racist? I'm very curious..just because it was a song during that time doesn't just condemn it
Agreed, the people who wrote it may have had poor views on what is or is not human but the song itself is fine...

Tempo should be 80.
Odd seeing the keys move on a London built instrument.
That's normally associated with American types, and is considered vaguely 'vulgar'.
You can play on these manually as well, correct?
Clonen 123 yes. you can play them just like a regular piano.
Yes.
Yeah, you can.
Enough of the politics and more of this!
How do you keep a old piano and paper in good condition for many decades?
where did you get that piano?
It was in the house I bought 6 years ago.

it's not for sale...sorry.

So, can you play a player piano just like a regular piano?
I know this question sounds dumb in context.
Nothing invokes the movie "Deliverance" more than the tune to Dixie - also that I willingly married my sister......
