🪦I’m from the UK so anything Halloween if woeful compared to what you get. When I was a kid in the 80s and early 90s it was pretty much one witch mask and a bin bag for a cape. We even used to carve a turnip rather than a pumpkin when I was young.
The fangs candy bowl is a dream BECAUSE of the nastalgia of that era! The 80's made it feel like things would just always be fun. The Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds commercials were so well done with the lighting and utilizing fog machines and thunder that every network was in a frenzy creating the next most "talked about" favorite. Made for TV movies and specials are still my favorite. The adolescent ones were actual terrifying scenarios but they made them fun and it's actually what I prefer. So the one thing I am greatful for are the people who find footage and upload them and take that time to relive it. Pure excitement is the best and preserving that, it's just golden.
One fond memory around Halloween time as a child was hosted by our local Chamber of Commerce to promote Halloween Night at the Park. We painted store front windows in town in a Halloween theme. One year, I painted a bunch of pumpkins 🎃 that looked like a cluster of 🍇 grapes. I added the words “Join the bunch at the Park”. I was so thrilled when I won a ribbon! 🪦 🎃🪦 I am grateful I was able to get the metal spider bench. I am happy you were able to get the wooden one. I would love to find one too. 🎃
🪦 So many fun Halloween memories from being a kid in the 80’s. Also mom forgot to put an age restriction at the video rental store! 😂 i watched some horror movies I shouldn’t have.
I love hearing your memories of Halloween growing up and they reminded me so much of my own, even with our age gap. Lol! I'm an 80's baby and absolutely remember the costume parades! It was a huge deal! The whole town came out to watch, every grade level K-5 participated, the band had a few songs they would perform as we went through town. I remember one year was so cold that my mom made me wear my coat. I was so mad because it covered my awesome pirate costume! Lol! There was a house we always went to first because the elderly gentleman would give out full-sized candy bars. They were 45 cents each at the time! One year, I had to trick-or-treat for my brother because he was home sick. We got a lot of sympathy and a lot of candy! Lol! Because it was the 80's, dad would always go through our candy bags under the guise of checking for razorblades. We knew that was bunk because we'd always end up a few snickers short. Lol! So one year, I hid my bag of candy from him. Yup! Hit it so well that even I forgot where it was, and found it about 3 years later. My milk chocolates had turned white. 😂😂😂
I'm alot older...so my memories are of things like Abbot and Costello meet the mummy,Creature from the black lagoon. Of course The Lon Chaney,Bella Lugosi,Vincent Price scary movies. I do remember all the ones you talk about from my kids and grandkids. Bahahaha❤❤❤❤ Different eras, definitely changes.❤❤
🪦 and a🦇for last week. Little behind in my utube videos. You gave me all the feels in the sense of reminiscing through all the nostalgic memories from commercials to shows, etc., etc. I am a little bit older than you and yet I still can’t remember all those things that you mentioned whether it’s still existed when I was young or through the eyes of my children who are now grown adults. Thank you for reminding me that there is a lot of new Halloween things to be appreciated. One of which is being able to connect with other lovers of Halloween and I feel like you’re the only one out there. So many stories to share, but they are so long they really could be a campfire Stories. Let’s just say one of them had Friday the 13th vibes at Lake George in New York when I was a young girl. Someone out there was having a great time messing with me while I was taking a stroll in the forest by the lake. Still one of the scariest moments of my life! I loved this Vlogaween…great job.
Love the bonfires. I love me some campfires. The benches look great. If I had found a second one, I would have bought one for my backyard. Halloween was so much better when I was a kid. All the kids dressing up in Halloween costumes to school. The local fire stations put on the best haunted houses. My mom use to make homemade popcorn balls. The decorations were were a lot more simple- made of paper & fabric. Things are more over the top now. But kids use to go trick or treating by themselves. Like everything is different. We look at our neighbors differently. The one positive for today is all year spooky decor and more selection of decor & props. We had vhs & cassette tapes back in the day. So we had physical copies to choose between. Even now I mostly watch old movies from my childhood over & over. 🪦
I love the pups taking their celery stalks away. So cute! Thank you for rambling. Hope Ryan feels better soon. Wish my kids were as excited about Halloween as you are. P.s. I got married on Halloween by Elvis. This year is my 5th anniversary. 🪦
🪦70s/80s girl here. Halloween nights were so magical for me. We'd go to both grandparent's houses to show them our costumes and get our paper sack of treats then we'd trick or treat around their neighborhood. Lots of popcorn balls, homemade treats and cups of warm cider. By then it was fully dark so we trick or treated around our neighborhood, always avoiding the creeper guys house. He liked to scare kids with an old man mask or dressed as a gorilla. When our bags were full we headed to McDonalds to use our coupons for a free sundae. We were so hyped on sugar by bedtime. 🎃🪦
🪦 Love Friday nights watching your videos. They will be some of my Halloween favorite memories! I loved all the older Halloween shows. Especially when a regular tv series would do a Halloween show. Thank you Jack, another fantastic video!
🪦As a Floridian we didn't have any leaves for the pumpkin bags. Our neighbor used to fill them with crumpled newspapers. In the early 90s my husband and I were stationed in upstate NY. We finally had fall leaves to stuff the bags. They were cute but man it took alot of leaves. 😂🪦
Ok first of all congrats on all your scores!! I’m so happy for you, after seeing you thirst and haunt all the stores just to end up finding and getting what you wanted was gold!! Regarding things that have improved. Are glow in the dark items. The way products have improved and the glow lasts longer, it’s on clothes and stickers and everything you can imagine. There’s also glow in the dark paint and you can customize anything you want. Also the toys offered in happy meals from food chains, like the Halloween buckets and other fun toys i remember. Also the book fairs that would come I the fall and there would be cool spooky activities and spooky books. About the past I miss is all the houses being decorated, ever since the pandemic things haven’t been the same. Also in my area kids have grown up and moved away. Also candy sizes🤣 🪦
That is so true on the Glow items!! They used to be quite dim and wouldn't last long! I have never thought of that! I really miss more houses having good decor too... maybe some day we will get back to that point! And thank you so much for watching all the way through!! 🖤🪦
🪦❤ Wow! So many great Halloween memories! When I was a kid, my most fav memory was having a Halloween party& I dressed up like a”bum/hobo” and we bobbed for apples and my mom made candied apples! Such a fun memory!!🎃 Thanks for the recommendation of the vintage Halloween commercials. I’m checking that out!👍🏻 Wgat a fun video, thanks Jack❤
I really enjoyed your vlogoween episode! Great score on the Hallmark Fang Candy Bowl! A real BOLO. Enjoyed seeing fall leaves. The hurricane in SC really ruined our season. I’d really love to see you work sometimes! I would be very interested in your process. Happy Spooky Season!! 🪦🪦🪦🪦🪦
Tombstone. (Couldn't find an emoji but found a coffin and an urn.) Yes, fall definitely has a distinct smell even though most people I know give me side eye when I say that. Grew up in the 70's and we would be out until 10:00 pm trick or treating (bags and bags of candy) and people seemed to make a lot of their own props (of course, not much was out there in stores) and wear costumes (we had a creepy guy parents didn't want us to go to, but of course we did anyway, lol). I of course was "strange and unusual" from the get-go and loved scary anything, my mom was a huge haunted house fan and let me go to a mild church one when I was 5 and I was hooked. Actually worked for a few years in a small haunt, would lose my voice practically every night but had so much fun. I do miss all of the Halloween commercials; you are right not as many as there used to be and my kids used to watch Nickelodeon often, so I remember the shows/movies you were talking about. Absolutely glad the Halloween season has expanded so much, definitely a bonus. Thanks for another fun vlogoween week.
Thank you so much for watching all the way through!! 🖤🪦 It is a hard one to find haha! I would always stay out late trick or treating until basically all the house lights were out haha! I also went to a couple church-mild haunted houses when I was a kid! It was great to grow older and graduate to the spookier ones haha!
🪦 thanks for another fun video! I look forward each week to see your latest spooky adventure. BTW, Thursday night I made your white chili recipe you made last week. OMG! Delish. Husband requested it go into regular rotation at our house. Thanks again for the joy you spread. Feel better.
I used to have those pumpkin bags with leaves all over my yard back in 2006. I stop putting them out cause I haven’t seen them in store anymore. I was wonder why too lol
Ahhhhh omg I knew the moment you started describing the ISO that that's what the item was! I'm sooooo excited for you, I freaking shrieked 😂 that's so freaking exciting and for 10 dollars?!? I can't even believe it I'm so stoked for you. I love that this video came out the day I'm about to go to a pumpkin patch ✨ so perfect. Happy spooky season!
I live in Maple Grove MN and my entire family filled these pumpkin bags every year! We had so much fun we would make giant piles of leaves and me and my sisters would jump in them along with our dogs and then we would fill these bags. Everyone on our street did this. We had a very large water fountain surrounded by rocks and we would put the pumpkin leaf bags in there so it didn't ruin our grass. Love your videos by the way! 🪦
Also trick or treating in a particular neighborhood that almost every house gave out candy. It was so much fun & as a kid you wanted to visit them all so you had to bring a bag to empty your candy bucket into just to fill it up again. And one house had a guy that would dress up each year as something different ( scarecrow, Jason, Michael Meyers etc.) and sit in a chair perfectly still with his bucket of candy. So you had to decide was he real or fake, then decide if you were brave enough to get the candy. He would always breathe real heavy as you reached for the candy and every couple of kids he would reach for and scare them.
I'm so happy to see this I live in east tn outside of North Carolina and with all the devastating everywhere from hurricane Helen I'm so greatfull to see this thank you jack
🪦Finished my anniversary today watching your video after the hubby went to bed. And here are some of my Halloween memories….costume parade at school and Halloween specials on tv.
THRILLED YOU GOT THE BENCH!!! I saw one at 3 HOMEGOODS and sent you emails....as you know. They all came in about the same time. I LOVE the trees in your yard! FALL COLOR at last!! Being in Florida, I so miss rolling in the leaves when younger. 🎃🎃🎃 tombstone emojis are showing up for me. JOLs instead. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
🪦 I am so excited for you! Your new bench is perfect. It looks really sturdy and well made. I do love the increase in Halloween decor as well, but I do remember that we had a lot more freedom on Halloween night when I was a kid. We weren’t monitored, and we could be out trick-or-treating as long as we wanted. A possible topic for talk and treat could be your favorite platforms and UA-cam channels for Halloween inspiration. How do you find great ideas for each spooky season?
🪦🪦🪦 I remember the Halloween costume parades in school! Times definitely have changed! How's your little library doing? Are kids loving the spooky books youput in there??
That bowl reminds me of the Hershey Cookies and cream fang chocolate bars. I just picked up a couple of bags from Target. It does seem like special little Halloween candies are getting harder to find. Nothing but bagged stuff. Makes me sad. Could not find the tombstone but no way I'm not watching a Jack Halloween video to the end. 🧡
🪦🪦⚰️ This was a great video. I love the talk reminiscing about childhood memories. My Mom would make our costumes and get other family members to help, so we always had really authentic looking costumes for Halloween. Once, when I was way too young to be going to adult haunted houses, I went with my Mom, and it scared the ever living crap out of me.😱😨🙀. But I grew up to super love every spooky and weird. I'm a 24/ 7 spooky decorator. I so want to find one of the metal benches.🤞. I'm so happy Halloween is so popular now, and we have so many ways to get cool decor. I hope it just keeps getting better every year.🖤🩶🤍
🎃 - I couldn't find a tombstone emoji, so I gave you a jack-o-lantern instead. Jack, you made me SO nostalgic (and I'm Gen-X, so I've got a long history of memories), that I had to deep-dive Google. I ADORED Halloween as a kid. The first Halloween costume I got to choose myself was the Collegeville #3293 Vampire Reflecta-lite costume. Cheap plastic mask with the elastic string. Thin nylon/polyester gown. I loved that costume. The first time I wore it trick-or-treating I walked up to a house that had a glass storm door. As I walked up to the door I saw my reflection in the glass for the first time and scared myself silly. I wore that costume until I grew out of it, saved my allowance, and bought it again in a bigger size and kept wearing it for several more years. Also, the Beistle jointed cardboard skeletons. I HAD to have a big one and 2 or 3 small ones to put up every single year. No other jointed skeleton would do...had to be the Beistle with the faint green around the outer edges and the crack in the skull. The only "special" on t.v. I remember from childhood was "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown", and I loved it. But one of the local t.v. stations had Saturday afternoon movies (this was before cable) and in October they would show the 30s to 50s Universal monster movies. Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Mummy and my favorite, The Creature From the Black Lagoon! The neighbor kids had a copy of the vinyl record album "Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House" from Disneyland. I begged them to play that all the time in the weeks leading up to Halloween every year. Thanks for bringing back great memories. I hope you, Ryan, your families and the pups have a wonderful spooky season! 🖤 And congrats on the Hallmark fang candy bowl and the wooden spider web bench - that is super cool that you found them both! PS - I used to get the wax lips as a kid too.
👀👀👀👀👀🎃🎃🎃🎃🥳eeeeek thank you jack for these videos. I'm so excited I'll be decorating today and going to the pumpkin patch with my husband and son. 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
Thank you so much for watching all the way through!! 🖤🪦 The dogs are having a great spooky season with all the toys and treats I have been picking up 😂
Omg hi Jack! Congratulations on the spider wooden bench it’s gorgeous! Also the vampire teeth trick or treat bucket is so so cool that’s my first time seeing it. By the way I totally agree that Halloween has change a lot but it’s a good thing! I was born in 1985 and I remember watching all the Halloween marathon of Nickelodeon/ Disney/ Cartoon Network on tv that was my favorite time of the year😂 I really miss the Nostalgic days so much but at least the good ol memories lived on!😢😩😊🎃🎃🎃🖤🖤🖤
I completely agree with all of this!! I am so happy to have lived through those magical Halloween times and will always cherish the memories but I am happy to live in this era of Halloween too!! 🖤
🪦idk how this came about, which of my parents didn’t pay attention or where I was but I watched the exorcist when I was 5ish. I don’t remember much, I just remember the fear in me and never ever wanting to watch it ever again. To this day, I do not like horror movies. I just can’t! Btw, I did notice your bat le creuset pot and I came across the Halloween line last month at their outlet. They had a giant ghost shape platter, mini coquettes with bats and halloween icon shaped ramekins. All very spooky cute. Just in case you’re interested in adding to your kitchen collection. Happy weekend!
Great video, love the fang candy bowl! I think it is from the late 90's. Lol,the leaf bags, agreed.❤🎃👍🦇(No tombstone emogi on my list, but watched in entirety)
Thank you so much for watching all the way through!! 🖤🪦 I love those leaf bags so much but I still refuse to believe the existed outside of store shelves 😂
I'm glad you got both benches! I messaged you on Instagram that the wooden bench was at homegoods in Coralville if you were willing to drive for one. But not sure you ever saw it. Glad you found one local!
We share an early trauma😂 I walked in on my parents watching hellraiser when I was like 5 years old and I thought pinhead was under my bed for a very long time
Did you end up having the spooky margarita? How was it? I go to an amusement park that is owned by the same company as yours- try to go earlier to get into the parking lot and go on a non Saturday if they are open then.
We have just a few pieces of regular fiesta but we have two Halloween pieces. One is a large pumpkin face platter and I honestly forget the other! I need to look for it in storage!
🪦🪦🪦🎃🖤🦇👻🧡🕷️ You suck. Lmao jkay just being a bitter witch that you now have all the spooky benches. I have you all the spooky bench vibes and didn't keep any for myself apparently 🤣🤣🤣 and I was one of the people that helped with the one online and I do regret not getting it online buttttt trying to hold out hope for the skull one 🤦♀️ Btw your bendy skeleton memory, I found a bendy pumpkin guy in a suit that is like 4 inches tall at a thrift store this year and I love him. 99 cents lol I use him as a fidget guy for my anxiety sometimes. I love seeing the leaves and stuff on your videos. We aren't completely in fall 🍂 here in Florida. Well we never really get it lol we get like Sumter there is coolness in mornings for now but still hot as hell during the day. And it kinda just teeters most the time between summer and winter. And I think you have convinced me I need a spooky cauldron and bowls for my spooky kitchen. I'm slowly making it a spooky kitchen. And one of my favorite Halloween things that was cool as a kid was we used to always trick or treat in the same neighborhoods and one year they took my picture and it was hanging on their wall to give us the next year and I thought that was neat. I'm sad spooky season is ending. I'm a year rounder but I'll miss seeing it around. 🖤🎃 I like seeing y'all do all the things though. 🧡 Hope Ryan feels better soon
I’m always talking about my Halloween memories from the 70’s with my children and grandchildren Fall and Halloween are my favorites and I actually used to fill the pumpkin bags and put them in front of my house now my children do it also hope you and Ryan feel better soon and thanks for the vlog o ween video 🪦 🪦🪦

Its going to be cute when you both will have a little Valentine to do these traditions with.
I will make Halloween the BEST time of year for our kid if we do have one!
🪦🖤🪦🖤🪦 All the Autumn 🍂 vibes I’m missing desperately 😭
I'm so happy you got both benches now!!!
These videos make my stress slowly fade away 😭🫶🏼
Aww stop! You’re too sweet 😭🖤👻
🪦 I'm so happy that you found your bench and fang bowl!!!! I totally get the excitement!!!!
🪦🪦🪦 I remember the Halloween costume parades in school! Times definitely have changed! How's your little library doing? Are kids loving the spooky books youput in there??
I'd put the wooden bench inside because of the weather
That bowl reminds me of the Hershey Cookies and cream fang chocolate bars. I just picked up a couple of bags from Target. It does seem like special little Halloween candies are getting harder to find. Nothing but bagged stuff. Makes me sad. Could not find the tombstone but no way I'm not watching a Jack Halloween video to the end. 🧡
Thank you so much for watching all the way through!! 🖤🪦 It is a hard emoji to find haha! And oooo those Hersheys are so good!
Kudos on the vampire bowl!!
I hope it just keeps getting better every year.🖤🩶🤍
YOu literally won the spooky lottery with that fang candy bowl!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not at all jelly, 😂💀😆🎃👏🏽🖤👻
And congrats on the Hallmark fang candy bowl and the wooden spider web bench - that is super cool that you found them both!
PS - I used to get the wax lips as a kid too.
Nice video
love the corn field
Awesome find for 10$😮
👀👀👀👀👀🎃🎃🎃🎃🥳eeeeek thank you jack for these videos.

@@JackValenstein I agree as well!☺️👍🏽🖤🖤🖤
🪦 fridays are my fave days now bc of your vlogs!
Aww you’re so sweet!! Thank you 😭🖤🕷️
I am living for the cauldron cooking. You are a Halloween king
It’s been so fun!! You’re so sweet, thank you!! 🖤
🎃🎃🎃Happy Halloween month!!!🎃🎃🎃
I am sooooooo happy for your Fangtastic Find. It could not happen to a better spooky soul. 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
I’m SO happy I scored it!! Thank you!! 🖤
I bought our vampire teeth like that from Walmart and that was in 2018. I almost got rid of mine this year. Guess I’ll hang on to it a little longer 😂
For the benches, could you put two matching ones around your fire pit?❤
That is a great idea!!
I'm glad you got both benches! I messaged you on Instagram that the wooden bench was at homegoods in Coralville if you were willing to drive for one. But not sure you ever saw it. Glad you found one local!
We share an early trauma😂 I walked in on my parents watching hellraiser when I was like 5 years old and I thought pinhead was under my bed for a very long time
My daughter loved Scary Godmother.
Have you watched Agatha All Along yet? We are really enjoying it and it’s perfect for the season.
Did you end up having the spooky margarita? How was it? I go to an amusement park that is owned by the same company as yours- try to go earlier to get into the parking lot and go on a non Saturday if they are open then.
Spooky fun! I love it! 🪦
Thank you so much for watching all the way through!! 🖤🪦
I love your Vlogoween videos! 🖤
Dang, I didn't know those fangs were so collectable.
👻i don't have a tombstone so here's a ghostie
I love your Fiestaware bowl. I am obsessed with it. I collect it. Do you have more pieces? 😁🤔
We have just a few pieces of regular fiesta but we have two Halloween pieces. One is a large pumpkin face platter and I honestly forget the other! I need to look for it in storage!
I’m from Iowa and to get a treat you had to tell a joke
🪦 looks like a perfect fall week (minus the illness 🫤). Happy to see you found the other bench!
Wow what a steal of a deal! 👹🎉🎉🎉
omg yes i was born in 93 and seriously miss the halloween comercials
we also had halloween school dances, costume contests.,a haunted house in the school library. had halloween parties in class and did crafts
Not me waiting for this all day to drop🤣🙈
Haha sorry for the delay!!! It was a long one so the exporting and uploading was SLOW 😂😭
🪦 Great video as usual,Jack. Happy Hall🎃ween!!!!👻🍁🍂🧙♀️🐈⬛🦇
🪦🪦 I think I know what's coming next week and I'm soooo excited! 🎃🎃🎃
🔮🎃💀☠️👻 No tombstones so I tossed these in.
🪦 I love watching these!
🪦🪦🪦🎃🖤🦇👻🧡🕷️
You suck. Lmao jkay just being a bitter witch that you now have all the spooky benches. I have you all the spooky bench vibes and didn't keep any for myself apparently 🤣🤣🤣 and I was one of the people that helped with the one online and I do regret not getting it online buttttt trying to hold out hope for the skull one 🤦♀️
Btw your bendy skeleton memory, I found a bendy pumpkin guy in a suit that is like 4 inches tall at a thrift store this year and I love him.
🪦 I can't wait for next week's video 🪦
Ahh thank you so much for watching all the way through!! 🖤🪦
☠️☠️☠️couldn't find a tombstone emoji
Thank you so much for watching all the way through!! 🖤🪦 It is a tricky one to find haha!
🪦 Always a fun watch. Because of your video, I bought the Target ghost pitcher. Now it's the Hallmark Vampire teeth I'll be on the lookout for 😂.
🪦
Thank you so much for watching all the way through!! 🖤🪦
@@JackValenstein always. You welcome
🪦 🦇 👻
The Scary Godmother movies- watch now and you catch some adult innuendoes😅. New Monster Summer film has great nostalgia 🪦
🪦 😊
The 31 nights of Halloween is just not good. It’s the same movies over and over. Very disappointing. No variety.🤷🏻♀️
🪦🪦🪦 Hsve a great week!!!
🪦 🪦 I watched the whole show! Enjoyed it..
Thank you so much for watching all the way through!! 🖤🪦
