Mine had a glass cover that didn't screw off. Instead it was held in place by a metal wire that slides to the side. If yours is like mine, you don't need to unscrew the metal housing around the glass. You just need to pop the metal wire to the side, taking care not to let the glass cover fall and break.

Luckily my GE oven is even easier and just pulls right off when you have the door open slightly.

I have a new world oven and have to unscrew the oven backplate ( 4 screws one, in each corner) to reveal the oven fan then the oven light glass simply unscrews. Its only taken me 4 years to think about it and 10 minutes of nagging from the other half and 5 minutes to actually do the job. What a result...brownie points aswell.
Just got on to see about changing the bulb and the best part was door removal part. makes changing the light bulb a lot easier to reach and change. Just have to make sure the notches in the door are in all the way or it doers not go back easy. This is about my LG stove.
Ours was so difficult. So my husband put on rubber gloves. Still no go. So I said tap the side of the cover with a rubber mallot . Gently, It then twisted off!!!!! Yay!
Pro tip #2: arthritic hand made it difficult to grip the spin-off porcelain piece. Used to change oil in my car so used the smallest oil filter wrench. Used a little duct tape to get a better grip.
It’s not spinning out and really stuck. How about turning on oven at 350 for 20 minutes? Then using a rubber gripper to see if it will spin out or bad idea?
Re the guard wire that covers the lens over the interior GE oven light. Don't try to remove the guard wire. Instead apply a slight pressure and pull the wire forward over the top of the lens and do HOLD the lens in place while you do this or it will fall into the bottom of the oven. The ends of the guard wire are inserted in brackets so no need to remove the guard wire out of the brackets as I initially tried to do (I'm mechanically challenged). Then, just replace with an appliance bulb. Put the lens in the metal frame and gently pull the wire guard back up over the lens, still holding the lens, until it tightens its grip at center of the top of the lens. Durbin saved me an $89.00 service call and that didn't include the bulb.
The glass cover came off with no problem. When I turn the bulb to the left, it reaches a point and stops. Turning it to the right, it does the same. It won’t pull out. I’m afraid I’ll have to and use plier the get it out.

Might just be a bent contact in the socket. You can turn the bulb out until it comes on or unplug the oven and use a small object to pry the flat metal piece at the back of the socket up a little bit. Not much though
@@bzrwon Take an empty plastic bottle and remove the cap. Heat the mouth of the bottle with a stove or a lighter so that the plastic melts. Stick the mouth to the bulb’s bade and hold on till it diaries and sticks to the base. Now slowly twist it counterclockwise to unscrew the base from the socket.

How I did it ..I wasn’t strong enough ..so I used a oil wrench..off in 5 seconds

If the cover is stuck heat with hair dryer , and it should spin out .

Some one said turn it counterclockwise wise, then just a tad clockwise. If that doesn't work, try a "strap wrench".

The bulbs should all be the same. The same heat in both places!

Unplug oven. My bulb broke when I took it out and had to manually unscrew it…

nope, unless you bulb breaks when you try to remove it and you need to play with pliers in there.
