I still have my 1988 Xt350 that I bought brand spanking new. At 68 I’m passing her down to my sons whom I took on many rides on that big seat when they were young. When my sons were six years old, I bought them AJR 50 Suzuki, and they followed me all over with it. Many precious memories on that XT 350 and it is still in excellent condition. GREAT MACHINE. 👍
@@kennithmorella2693 wow! That is so cool! Thanks so much for sharing! Not many things would stand the test of time like the xt’s! Seems like it may have a whole new life ahead of it too! Hahah
@@dreadnaught688I live in a valley in Southern California so it doesn’t ever get that cold but it has definitely been getting warmer the past few months
Thank you! Sorry for late response but I am 5’9”. This bike is lower than a lot of other bikes but it’s super comfortable! Lower seat makes it easier on the trails for sure!
I definitely have to hit the gas when I start mine lol does that mean I need carb work or valve adjustments or engine rebuild I do have a small oil drip when hot
Thanks for your feedback! Seems pretty common with any old bike I would start with replacing gaskets In order to try and stop the oil leaks but i am not entirely sure. Seems like some old bikes need a little extra fuel when they get going hahah doesn’t hurt to have the carb cleaned either way!
@takiniteasy2337 they used to make them very durable. I don't mind new bikes, but the old ones just work and they're relatively simple to deal with. Something we, the riders like.
I try and be mindful and let it cool and try not to override it especially if I cruise the highway to get to trails but I’ve never had any troubles caused from overheating! But it’s an old bike! Gotta respect the old thing! Haha
@@takiniteasy2337 same man I love mine but she gets hotter than I’d like. Wanna say 220-240 sometimes. Might look into an aftermarket cooler to save a few degrees

one of the best bikes ever made.
Agreed! Haha the goat! Thing just keeps going!
Excellent, thank you! As soon as I get mine out of winter storage I will try your technique! Thanks again!
Right on! No problem thank you! Hope it helps!
My carbs are all messed up. I bought some pwk 28 mm carbs to jerryrig my xt350 back to life. Wish me luck!!
Hahah nice! Hope it’s back to life now!
Hey bossman, if its starting completely cold with no choke, the pilot jet is a bit rich. It doesnt really matter
Okay got it! Appreciate you sharing your knowledge! Good to know!
@takiniteasy2337 no problem. Did the weather just recently warm up where you are at?

Nice bike. Thanks for the upload.
How tall are you?
I am considering this bike, I'm 6'1.

those bikes are super cool, by the way.
Yes they are! Love the look of them and they are just an overall great bike!! Appreciate the comment!

Exactly! Predictable and made rock solid! Safe riding out there!
How does it do on engine temps after long high speed rides on hot days??
