Barberous was capable of good damage and destruction and was one of the first full body cylinder spinners, sad to hear that the guy behind barberous threw barberous in the trash just before the new series were announced but he is thinking of bringing the robot back if the show is ever brought back
Andrew Sad to hear that old Barber-Ous has gone to the scrap heap. Though I would have been mortified seeing it in the reboot. I don't like seeing the old guard torn to shreads. But another new full body drum spinner would be lovely to see.
KimFareseed yeah in battlebots theres a full body cylinder spinner but not as big or deadly as barberous was. I like to think if it wasnt in the heat with hypnodisc it could have gone far
Andrew I don't know about "not as strong", that is a relative thing with the different eras. From what I have gathered, Axebackwards would be delivering a bigger punch the old Barber-Ous. Question is if it will be making as much as a show as Barber-Ous in its day.
Which actually was its strongest point: Only that pickaxe was able to panetrate it, everything else (including Hypnodisk) barely scratched and peeled the decals from it. The problem was the strenght and reliability of their internal components, not being able to withstand the impact of others' or even their own blows. I think a Barber-Ous 3 with an improved internal design and a "composite armor" drum of polycarbonate pipes (like the original) but layered with some aramidic fiber (kevlar or whatever) could be a very strong opponent in future robot wars.
John Smith - Yep. It still happens, even these days. The cut-out link has to be readily accessible and freely/easily operated for safety reasons. One really big hit can do it.
Alam Udesky - Heh heh. Always good to have a second career. Medieval barbers used to perform major surgery and dentistry as well as just shaving chins and cutting hair...
One of my favourite designs
If it had less reliability issues it could be been a competitive machine imo
"Hahaha! IT'S MADE OF PLASTIC!"
always liked this robot, something a bit different was cool to see

kudos for the video description
I was always so annoyed when it trashed other machines then just conked out, could have reached the finals if it was more reliable
4:40 Barber-Ous got no R-E-S-P-E-C-T for the elderly.
Sock it to me, Sock it to me, Sock it to me...
This made me like Axe Backwords more.
Barberous and axe backwards are both full body drum spinners but if Barberous comes back in 2020 extreme robots it would be awesome
I always liked that bot
One hit and it's out.

Barbar-ous. Lawn mower

Easily flipped so could never win the championship. Took long enough for the main weapon to last a whole fight too
THEY COPIED AXE BACKWARDS!
and if you'd look at the replies to the other person who said this, you idiot
