    I saw the clock parts and it reminded me I have a friend from my church trying to teach me the ways of clock repair. It will give me something to do on my off time I guess.

      My grandfather made so many scroll sawn clocks. He really liked doing that in his retirement before he passed. I definitely want look more into that as well.

    Poly. Those are some pretty wild colors.

    The organization really worked out.
    The workshop area looks like it has loads of room even though you have so many tools ready to go.

      This garage is a 3 car. My previous shop was in a 2-1/2 car, so one thing I miss here is the extra depth along the sides of the garage. The cabinets here stick out past the garage door track which would inhibit having 3 cars side by side in there.

    I do all of my woodworking out of my garage and still park two vehicles in there, so storage and space is at a premium. Appreciate the walk through as it gave me some ideas for some of my stationary tools , like the planer, bandsaw and drill press. those small cabinets on wheels with storage is a nice idea. Built a roller table for the chop saw, but I think having it stationary against one wall would be sufficient. Also I live in Colorado and my garage gets cold also. I have a small 6x8 corner workshop where I build models that is fully insulated and heated / cooled. I am getting ready to finish my garage space, insulated with drywall so I can heat it. Thanks again.

      You are welcome. Thanks for the comment. When I had my last shop, I had a large mobile work station that housed my chop saw, planer, and router table. I could swap out the tools and store them below. I determined then that I wanted to have a chop saw station like I have built here, as I got tired of having to set it up. Now that I am older, lifting that planer is getting more difficult to move. I really need to think about climate control out there, need to insulate that roof though. Its cold in the winter and ultra hot in the summer.

      Looks like they still exist. I thought they disappeared a long time ago.

      @@ManyHats-Woodshop I just went and counted six belt sanders....a handful of drills and more routers than I can count.
      Porter Cable lives on with honors over here.

    Nice shop. I shifted my table saw like you did. I didn’t like having my back to street.

      Thanks! I had thought it would be easy to take sheet goods straight from the car to the saw with my back to the door. Realized I didn't use it that way. Think it will work better this way.

    I have an idea regarding the poly or paint on the cabinets. What if you dye the polyurethane. You would get both a "wacky color" as you put it, and still get to use the poly. It would be unique too.

      Interesting. Never thought of that. Perhaps I need to explore that idea. Thanks!

      @@ManyHats-Woodshop I don't know if it will work. I haven't tried it myself. Would you use liquid or powder color?

    • @ManyHats-Woodshop
      @ManyHats-Woodshop  4 години тому

      @@jronmanbuilds I would think a liquid dye would blend better. Minwax has their line of polyshades, so color and poly could be mixed. Don't recall if they had anything colorful already done. Rockler has TransTint but that can't be used in an oil based poly. I think Minwax has translucent stain that could be an option too.
