If there is a day 1 patch (or a patch shortly after release) I'll update this pinned comment with the details: *Update: A patch was rolled out to the Switch version before launch, and Version 1.01 was pushed out to the PS4 version a week after launch but, unfortunately, neither patch seems to have done much of anything.*
Three years later and the problems still haven't been fixed. My biggest gripe is a problem I currently have where I need to find a box for a particular story based recipe and after hours of looking I can't find it, when the story is grinded to a halt by this it really becomes a chore. Would be great if you could get your dragon to lead you to the closest attainable box, or at least get it's scent at point in it's direction like a hunting dog.
U do know what patches are right? and the games often have multiple ones over month. In my day u didnt even have them, ( and i hope youre not my age, cuz thats awefull). Ppl complaining about the games these days make no sense to me, since patches are a thing. Just be lucky we can even do that now you whinner 🤔 Beta testing doesnt catch everything btw, its not perfect.
The only real broken thing is the jumping and ingredient finding. You can easily play through the game without much of an issue. Just as long as you are fine finding everything yourself.
NK Paying for a game means the game should work... patches that have no guaranteed release shouldn’t be the norm if they require the game to function as intended.
Welp you don't buy a thing full price when it is brocken it is called early access second this game If I'm not mistaken never got patched neither on steam ! :(
This is pretty much all of your recent Little Dragons Cafe videos packed into one video. And after watching this and the other videos I feel a little bummed that I bought it. It should be arriving tomorrow. One thing I know without a doubt that's going to bother me is the cooking mini game and how you can only cook one thing at a time. Still I'm going to try to remain positive. Thank you for the review always appreciate your thoughts! :-)
I love this game but sometime its so frustrating. When you try to help at the cafe and a npc drag you all the way back because you're in his path. But the worst i think its when you try to kill an animal, when they notice you its barely impossible to kill because the whistle animation is so slow and your dragon always miss his hits and the animal drain your meal faster then you can jump, most of the time i hide next to a rock is way more easy to kill them like this but after this half of the meat get stuck mid air so you hope that the dragon take it for you :/. I buy the limited edition day one I love the game but its not worth the 100$ I invest in it.
This game sounds a lot like Hometown Story for the 3DS, but gameplay wise, Hometown Story had even more technical problems! However, like Little Dragon's Cafe, Hometown Story also had a charming story and atmosphere. Hopefully, since Little Dragon's Cafe is designed for consoles, patches will quickly be released fixing its floaty, inconsistent, and unresponsive controls. Also, the dragon reminds me of the one from the classic English 3D animation Jane and the Dragon, and I recently watched an Iyashikei anime called Rokuhoudou Yotsuiro Biyori, which had a very similar feel as this anime (i.e., help costumers out with personal problems and then they become a regulars at the homey cafe). I recommend it if you enjoyed the atmosphere of Little Dragon's Cafe. I enjoyed your review, so I went ahead and subscribed.
I'm really glad I decided to spring for this game, even if it does have some technical issues. It just oozes charm and style, and like you said, it can always be patched. Even if it isn't, I'm still excited to start playing it tomorrow :D
Nice technical review dude!!! Still gonna buy for switch. (When I get one hopefully soon...) I see a nice relaxing animal crossing alternative, complete with some of the day to day monotony. However, the abundant technical issues makes me want this at $40 or less, especially with a sale....
Great game to play with the kids! Not too difficult and no voice acting so it encourages reading. The Best part (besides raising a dragon) is all the different food combinations. My girls want to branch out and try new dishes they've never been interested in before. 5/5 buy especially after this most recent price cut. Teens and up probably won't like it but imho it isn't for you anyway. Parents looking for a fun, challenging but forgiving game with reading and surprisingly deep introspective and societal commentary, please check it out.
This was an awesome review. Full of honesty I feel some people might have covered up. I myself was never interested in the game but I managed to sit through and listen to the entire review just to see how you covered it. Appreciated it even if I was never planning to get the game. Keep up the good work.
The story driven nature of this makes me concerned about replay value. I was hoping this would be the game to keep me busy while we wait for an Animal Crossing for switch =/
You could try Rune Factory 4 if you have a 3ds or a decent enough pc to run the emulator for it! The switch version is coming out for the switch either late 2019 or 2020 too (and the sequel is confirmed as well!)
Glad this isn’t out till September in uk as hopefully a lot of issues raised can be fixed plus I can watch afew reviews before deciding whether to pick it up
The idea of the it taking a long time between stages doesn't really bother me, it feels like something that's meant to happen to build anticipation for the next stage. But, I'll probably wait to get this game. Don't know what platform yet though. Control bugs are the bane of so many games and I hate stuttery games, so I'd like to get PS4, but I don't have many games for my Switch and I'm running out of memory on PS4... I hope it patches though...
Damn. I was hoping to get this game for my birthday next week since Spyro got delayed. I guess I'm just gonna have to wait for some patches and a price drop to get this game, though.
A tip for the service issue and slacking off. Make sure at the end and beginning of every service they've showed hearts above their heads. Also at the beginning and end of every day, try your hardest to have the same thing. This also includes your guest and your customers. This is one way I can run all day with a half grown dragon and not have to go back to the cafe. Also, make sure you allow your dragon to get a bit of sleep before taking them back out. This aids in growth and dragon manure. I agree the controls are awful. Really not a fan of the jumping issues.
It was a very frustrating game, the crew member constantly slack off and makes me have to stop foraging for INGREDIENTS. The side characters are SO WHINY they are unlikeable
This game looks really nice, and the art style alone makes me want to get it. It makes me think of Wind Waker done in crayon. Now I'd get it, but it's far from being worth $60, and the constant loading screens are a turn off. $18 on the eshop right now as i post this, but i still dont know and have to think about it
You have some of the issues I have had. I recently finished the game. I think some of the other problems include the fact you don't change or improve how much you gather as you gain more customers. Making it hard to stick with some meals. Like one way they can solve this is if one button press collects all you can receive from a bush or tree. As the garden only gives 1-3, with rare exceptions of 4 or 5 of certain ingredients. It does cover whatever you gather though. Another issue I find is finding the recipe fragments, and ingredients. They are somewhat random, and can give the impression of vanishing from collect-ability. Heck I am in the end game and I still need 40 more recipe fragments with having thoroughly explored the island and talked with my co-workers.And the ingredients are not completely random, yet random enough that I didn't get "Mozzarella" until a 6th or 7th time of harvesting from one spot up high where all I got was Gouda or Gorgonzola. That's another thing, ther are still 20 ingredients, and I have killed all creatures, collected all "Egg-Birds, went everywhere. I do agree about the characters, they are the best part of the game. :)
When do I unlock more colors? Right now I still only have green, red, blue and purple. I want a black dragon. Thats possible right? I think they said up to 20 colors.
You can get black later on, once you get the recipes for Tacos and a few others. You can mix and match the colours to get combos, like you did with purple. If you're dragon is green you can feed it blue food to get it to turn Teal, then continue feeding it blue food to turn it blue etc
There are some recipes later on down the line that can turn your dragon white, usually things that use Cream Sauce as an ingredient. Croque-Monsieur was the quickest and easiest.
I was on the fence about this one because it’s adorable but at around £45 in the UK, it seemed a bit much. Now I’ve seen your helpful review, I think I’ll pass until it goes on sale or something.
It is a bother soemtimes cause like 8-12 customers will be waiting for their orders to be taken then the others go and do their job causing us to lose customers.
I think I will wait and see about a patch first. I would be getting it for the Switch because to me it looks more like a game that belongs their and one you could enjoy on the move.
Got used on switch for $30. I agree that I love the character designs and the background art is cute. My main complaint is that there's no stakes. If I leave the cafe with all 1 ingredient recipes and go collecting for days on end, it doesn't reflect on my reputation; no currency means nothing to lose. I reset once because of a Zucchidon annoyance, and I couldn't tell how many unsaved days I had lost. If my reputation allowed me access to gift ingredients or some sort of trading post, I'd have a reason to want to play through each day. A map, especially one you could mark/use stamps on, would greatly improve the exploration. Also, imo the A button is used for too many actions.
I already canceled the limited edition with the plush. I was looking for a harvest moon/story of seasons experience. This is not what I was expecting. Definitely not getting this at the price point of $79.99CAD
It got 1 patch around launch which I detailed in the pinned tweet but it didn't seem to help performance all that much. There has been another patch since (I believe) but I haven't had the time to play since back around launch.
Hey I'm tell you something this game is great and it's worth it so buy it it's great I have it for like 20 bucks and I enjoy it a lot it's cool and great and you ride a dragon here's an example of a problem luccola won't COOK when you have the ingredients so there's a problem with that but the games worth it you should buy it
The game got horrible reviews on Amazon Japan, mostly one star saying most of what you said in this video with the inefficiency, slacking off, long load times and character movements being awkward as if it was a PS1 game etc.. I love HM and was hyped about this, pity it was so disappointing.

There was one on release day, bbut I'm not sure if it did anything.
So what's the update on this thing? Did it ever get patched or is it still buggy?
I think the last patchhelped a Lil bit. Check it out again, I think the pop ups aren't that bad after the latest patch
@@oscarwilde399 Yeah this game still runs like crap on Switch and I'm pretty sure they aren't going to fix it at this point.
The problem with this game is its price tag. At $40, I could be more forgiving but at $60 the unpolished and bugs makes this a no buy.
After playing this I kind of got the same feeling, it isn't worth $80, maybe $50-60. For us Canadians it is a bit more.
i agree, i was interested in it but then i saw the price tag. for the graphics and the controls? nah. sorry.
ComatoseGub lol same
It's on sale todar (22 december 2023) for 6 dollars lol. For that price, it's worthy
It's 2,50 rn 😭

So they want us to pay for a game that is essentially broken? I'll have to pass. If we start rewarding this type of behavior it will become the norm.
U do know what patches are right? and the games often have multiple ones over month.

I think I'll have to wait for a lovely sale. Yeah, that'll be good. Nice review.
Thank you for your honesty.

I know how you feel. Unless you are behind the Zucchi the "Hunt" mechanic is useless. I got the limted edition too.

Glad I held off because $60 for this kind of game is a bit too much. $30 sounds a little better.
A little? That is half the price. XD
lol no $20 i wouldnt spend over $20 for this lol but same i held off too! was waayyy too pricey for such drybones gameplay
I spent 21 and some change haven't played it yet on the switch because I'm a Nintendo man through & through
Nice technical review dude!!! Still gonna buy for switch. (When I get one hopefully soon...) I see a nice relaxing animal crossing alternative, complete with some of the day to day monotony. However, the abundant technical issues makes me want this at $40 or less, especially with a sale....
snailgirl6 it cost 92$ in Canada after tax :’) my wallet is crying

Thank you! Great review! I'd get it, myself. But I kinda am a bit disappointed because it's fully priced. But might as well grab a copy.
...doesnt seem like it worth 60$ even if it patch later. Maybe i just wait for price drop
I LIKE WHAT YOU DID WITH THE INTRO
Hello,
Do we know if those technical issues have been patched since release ?
May i ask you a question? How can you turn the dragon to silver color?
Look it up on Google and give it certain food
This was an awesome review. Full of honesty I feel some people might have covered up. I myself was never interested in the game but I managed to sit through and listen to the entire review just to see how you covered it.

To anyone who has played this recently, have they updated/patched the game to fix these issues?

Not cute enough then.
It's 29 dollars now
@@acousticjams1 I just got it for 17 dollars, worth it.
Cool good for you
Buttbrwin heres somethign annoying my chief wont cook when i have the fucking ingredients
How I will save game I play and I want to change game I don’t know ho to save game!!!
How can you get the white dragon
You get recipes later on that can turn your dragon white, they usually use Cream Sauce as an ingredient. Croque-Monsieur was the easiest.
It won't be for a few chapters in but like Jay RPG said you can do it with that. Cream Sauce is a mildly hard to collect ingredient.
The idea of the it taking a long time between stages doesn't really bother me, it feels like something that's meant to happen to build anticipation for the next stage.

Does anyone happen to know if the technical issues were fixed for the EU release?
Damn. I was hoping to get this game for my birthday next week since Spyro got delayed. I guess I'm just gonna have to wait for some patches and a price drop to get this game, though.

I really do enjoy the game. It's just that whenever I jump up a ledge and my character hovers in midair, it makes my heart jump into my throat.
This game looks really nice, and the art style alone makes me want to get it. It makes me think of Wind Waker done in crayon.

Has the frame rate been patched yet? I really want to try it, but that frame rate makes me hesitate.
How did you get your dragon to turn white?
There are some recipes later on down the line that can turn your dragon white, usually things that use Cream Sauce as an ingredient. Croque-Monsieur was the quickest and easiest.

okay.... I have to ask. How did you make your dragon white!?!?!? (adult sized color)
You get recipes later on that can turn your dragon white, they usually use Cream Sauce as an ingredient. Croque-Monsieur was the easiest.
There some who turn it black and look really nice
Love that intro!
I was on the fence about this one because it’s adorable but at around £45 in the UK, it seemed a bit much. Now I’ve seen your helpful review, I think I’ll pass until it goes on sale or something.
I almost got this game. I might grab it a later date.
Yo, thank you for your well though out and insightful review! Just went on sale on Switch, and will now avoid.
this game has such cute designs and A LOT of potential.. I reeeeeaallly hope these loose ends/bugs are fixed, and maybe a romance dlc!!
He should have made a new Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons instead. But the artwork is beautiful
Is there much stuff you can "permanently" screw up in this game? Like in Harvest Moon how animals can die, etc.
Has this been patched yet since the original patch?
Now i think it’s worth $20 and i just got my copy.
Everything you said about the slacking mechanic.... welcome to the world of managing a restaurant.
I know the feeling of being frustrated about that.
It is a bother soemtimes cause like 8-12 customers will be waiting for their orders to be taken then the others go and do their job causing us to lose customers.
Hey wanna know an ANYIONG bug luccola dosnt COOK when you HAVE THE INGREDIENTS it's so ANYIONG
It feels like Aksys tried their hardest not to give people information on what Little Dragons Cafe actually was before launch.
I wish they put in more effort into a mini-map or item detector.
PARFAITS IS DELICIOUS
I think I will wait and see about a patch first. I would be getting it for the Switch because to me it looks more like a game that belongs their and one you could enjoy on the move.

This game looks cute! I will have to wait for a special $75aud is way too much. $50 id buy 👍

LMAO, that shrek skit...
Never played, just own the soundtrack.
This game is on sale for 50% on the Nintendo eshop but I’m just not sure if I wanna get it. :/
5:50 I am Groot! ...my first thought.
The game got horrible reviews on Amazon Japan, mostly one star saying most of what you said in this video with the inefficiency, slacking off, long load times and character movements being awkward as if it was a PS1 game etc.. I love HM and was hyped about this, pity it was so disappointing.
I just got this game on the Switch while on sale for $4.74.
Is the game any good
como se atreven a poner esa basura en ps4 ?
Wtf and thay ask 60$. For and not voice act no fun activity boring dead world I prefer fantasy life on this shit
Looks boring to me.
