One of the main reasons why my diagnosing skills have increased. Like everyone else, we have came a long way. SD and Brian we applaud you all
I looked over a friends no start plow truck after it sat all summer. He watched, and commented about all the tools I had. Him and his father in law attempted to fix it by throwing a few parts at it. The most important tool I had was experience and training to fix that one. A test light and a wiring diagram is all I needed. All the other tools just made the job easier.
For sure
In most cases a quick review of system operation, a wiring diagram and solid electrical foundation and most problems solved.
@@matthewdale174 exactly. That particular truck had a few items that could have easily sidetracked me. No com from ecm, but I skipped over that. That could have easily ran me down the wrong hole. No spark, no injector pulse, and no rpm signal, I went to cam impulse and distributor pickup
Awesome! Thank you so much! Great reply and I'll be sharing this too!
Thanks! 💯agree, and a rant is not a bad thing every once in a while.😀
I’ve brought the trainers to our shop and still had a hard time getting employees to show up. Some just don’t want to learn or progress. The problem is if we don’t keep up we are falling behind.
Thanks for the video
Brian, you worked on my wife's land Rover freelander years ago for a shop in town and that was a great answer you couldn't fix it or the shop it was at it had a bunch of problems it was a mess keep up the good work
Mine was a 68 impala. Condition no rear parking lights. I had open circuit voltage, but no voltage when loaded. Long story short. The head light switch was dropping voltage. This experience inspired me to spend more time studying. So I can better understand the subject. I hate the feeling of not knowing the answer because I don’t know the material.
Couldn’t agree more.
For years out of school I thought I was extremely competent, and in many ways I was. The thing was I saw all the same vehicles and most of the problems were pattern failures. Then I found my self struggling to fix cars with electrical issues( one in particular Beat me down) CAN issues. I felt way lost and struggled. I shortly after realized that training wasn’t over after school and I needed to continue during the entire time I was a technician.
You , Paul and many other resources sky rocketed my abilities and thought process. I am very thankful. I no longer struggle with the procedure to figure out and isolate problems on vehicles. Not saying it is easy, I’m just confident with my skill set.
Thanks Brian, keep doin what you're doin! Greatly appreciated.
And always check the fuses First 😢
There is a lot to learn from Sir Paul Danner's video..
Hands on auto traning, Sir, if you think bad about someone, then that person will feel bad for you. If you think good about someone, then that person will feel good for you.
I agree, as i have heard the quote from multiple sources, i cant recall it properly.." If you go into the mine looking for dirt you will find it, if your looking for gold you will find it , but you will have to move alot of dirt!"
As a mobile tech working with many shops in my area I see the huge need for training in our industry.
Brian you and Paul hit the nail right on the head. As you know I’ve been in aviation my whole life. Try to visualize just about every fancy gizmo on todays automobiles was developed in military aviation. Everything from GPS systems in the mid eighties to aircraft using all fly by wire replacing control rods to all glass cockpit instrumentation. Everyday something new will come up so never stop trying. 👍
100% correct Brian! BTW, this is Chris Daniel(formerly Daniel Diagnostics) got my mobile company off the ground in June so been super busy neglecting training and UA-cam. Getting my business partner running now so I can get back at it, I’ll have to get caught up with your site too
Great to hear from you, been a crazy year so far for me as well.
So true learn something everyday in this business.
100% agree
The fundamental never has mr Danner would say
Agree with you 💯
Merci beaucoup courage à vous et longue vie
Great points thanks
with current job. he is a very good person according to me , i am currently looking for materials or an online class on body electrical in general . can you help me
awesome content man god bless you guys
To think these guys are mechanics is scary lol. This is why I entered this industry. It os easier to just throw a part at it but if you have a good setup. You will diagnose cars accurately very quickly.
"Low class, uneducated, entry level people." One of those guys? 😂
Nothing comes for free
