Welcome back my friend. Great video to come back on. The colour difference between these two is comical... no more needs to be said there... I don't understand why Laphroaig continues to do it. Both great whiskies though. It's a draw for me. Cheers 🥃
Glad you're back MA. Last time you forgot to say, I'll be back! Well what better way to be back than a comparison review of a couple of potent Laphroaigs. Cheers!
Glad to have you back, those liver transplants are a bugger to recover from ;-) The last cask strength I had was batch 12 at 61.3%. Batches 13,14 and now the 15 have slipped into the 57% range which pisses me off more than it being coloured.
I think the Batch 12 was 60.1% if I'm not mistaken. I personally don't mind the 57% range. But I see what you mean. And I'm so done ranting about COLOR !
Welcome back, glad all is well! I completely agree with you. I just tried them head to head but I was surprised because I thought the younger age statement with peat and high abv would hit more than the 10 CS but it just felt more subdued and muted. Go figure
Great channel! Can't wait to get back to Islay in November, might have a bash at reviewing a few Drams myself, I'm a novice but LOVE the stuff haha. Subbed 🥃 Slainte!
from my region, i have limited option for choosing the batch for 10 cs. may i ask, from the 10 cs batch 12 ~ 15, which batch has the strongest typical medicinal/iodine character of the laphroaig?
Tough question to answer but look at spending on average £200/day for food + accommodation + some basic whisky tastings. What you buy is up to you. This is just a rough indication.
I love Laphroaig - my favorite distillery by far. Makes no sense to color the 10 CS - the people buying it arent in the mass market they are pushing the standard 10 yr too. The whisky geeks will like the color differences from batch to batch.
I believe you're right. I just wish Laphroaig would state that on the label. I think the problem is that they color some of their other stuff so they feel it's best not to have that disclaimer on the label at all.

It was definitely pretty close.
Welcome back! Love your passion and don't stop yelling at Laphroaig bottles until they stop coloring their whiskies. Cheers
haha good advice!
Welcome back. Missed you. The 10 year cask strength is only $1 more than the Cairdeas at my shop.
Thank you!

Thanks Rohit !!!
What a great comparison video from one of my favourite distilleries.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Right? That's what I thought too. But I've stopped being surprised now!
Awesome review. Glad you’re back.
Hey, thanks! Been back for a while actually!
Wow! You almost killed that CS bottle lol. Great work, MA 🎉
It was a team effort!

I'd say I like 13 quite a lot!
Nice, just found batch 15 for 52usd the first cask strength Laphroaig I’ve ever found besides the Cairdeas triple wood
Not bad!
$139 Canadian… prices have been climbing steadily. 😢
@@loughery2010 $150 here in Onterrible.
72 Euros in Germany 😊
Laphroaig 10 CS or Ardbeg Corryrreckan, wich do you prefer?
If you had asked me this question 10 years ago I would have been stumped. But now the answer is easy - Laphroaig 10 CS
6 days on Islay. What's the cost ? Thx

Agree with you 100%
There is NO artifical colouring in the 10 year old cask strenght #15

Who was the genius who decided to add color to a whisky that comes in a green bottle? It's like they just want to piss us whisky geeks off.
haha what can you do!
Why the fuck do they think colour.......... put another fiver on it and save on the colour, I'm not buying burnt sugar.
I've given up!
