Sean's Quick Reviews
Hi. I'm Sean with Sean's Quick Reviews. This is a quick review of the Recteq RT-590. I debated between the Recteq and the Traeger and went with the Recteq because the build quality seemed to be better, as well as the temperature control. The Traeger keeps a the temperature within 15 degrees and the Recteq keeps the temperature within 5 degrees.
I also think the Recteq just looks cooler with horns for handles that stay cooler to the touch even with the grill is on.
I am far from a BBQ guru. I bought this to make my grilling easier and hopefully taste better. That's exactly what this grill did. I definitely recommend it and you won't be disappointed if you choose this grill.
It's a thumbs up from me.
nice job - thank you for your time
You were smart to go with the recteq. Had three traegers. Nothing but problems with them. Have an RT 700 Rick tech. Fantastic.
Great review! I too am not a grill guru and just a regular guy who enjoys grilling/smoking. I think I’ve made my decision I’m going to pick this one up, thanks!
Good choice! I'm sure you'll love it!
I’ve got one also, love my smoker!
I have a Traeger and recently purchased a Kamado Joe. I will never go back to a pellet grill again.
I e had my RT 590 for about three years now. This thing has never fluctuated more than three degrees, whether it’s 0 degrees outside or 90. The burn box being positioned in the center is amazing, I have no hot or cold spots anywhere in it. The only complaint I have is that the coating on the hood is peeling off even though it’s on a well covered porch and has a cover on it.
Hope you discovered the hole on the side of the grill next to the front of the pellet hopper to put the temperature probes through so they don't show from under the lid.
I did. Thank you for noting that though. It took me a few uses before that clicked.
Hey nice review. For those types of grease buckets, they actually sell foil liners for those at like home depot, lowes, walmart, etc that are very cheap. When done just pull out and throw away...just an FYI.
Thanks for the info. I'll definitely look into that. I appreciate the comment!
I have a 5 gallon bucket for mine.
Have you tried crankign it to 700 deg for 15-20 min for an "autoclean function"? or is there another method you reccomend for cleaning?
Did you use their app to control the grill temperature etc?
Thanks for the video. Does this grill have a door on the pellet hopper to quickly change out pellets?
It doesn't. That is one miss on this grill.
No they do NOT, Traeger does, but Traeger sucks
Thats a great grill! recteq baby! new subscriber here!
I line my catch can with foil. Let the grease cool and wad it up. Easy.
How do you feel about this grill after having it for a while? I'm considering picking one up and would love to know if there is something you don't love about this system?
I still love it. The only issue I had is that the auger got jammed because of a build-up of dust from the pellets. I pulled the hopper off the side and cleaned out the shaft and it was back to working like a charm. I actually just got the metal folding shelf for the front of it last week. It was really easy to install.
@@seansquickreviews2759 awesome... thanks for the quick response :)
i seen no smoke does it have a smoke setting
i love this grill so much....only thing that sucks is the clean up
Why does it suck?
Do you like it?
I love it!
@@seansquickreviews2759 great, I’m about to buy it. Any cons?
@MMR0 The only thing I could get picky about is that there isn't a way to empty the hopper and change out the pellets if you want a different flavor to the smoke. I'm not sophisticated enough to have needed that option, but I've heard others make that complaint. Also, I have not tried cooking on others myself to have a solid comparison, but looking at, and feeling the physical differences of my friend's Treager, I feel like this is built better.
@@seansquickreviews2759 thanks for the info!
So do you use same pellets all the time if not what is best way for you to remove
Customer service sucks. I wanted to buy replacement parts. They wanted me to try a bunch of stuff first, which I did including buying $50 in tools. When that didn’t work I said I just wanted to buy replacement parts. Now they don’t respond to e-mails anymore. It worked good but customer service is bad.
Should of got a pit boss
