I think for regular players handcannons are absolutely the benchmark for skill. No matter what I do I suck with handcannons. I just either take 4 or 5 shots to take someone out or I spend a lot of extra time trying to line up headshots.
I personally don't think the stability is all that bad considering its unique recoil "feature" that bungie left with it. Even with its lowest stability it still feels incredibly tight after the first burst is fired. I have not used outbreak since the last time lightweight pulses were on the upper end of meta but I'm excited to try it out again (and I am definitely trying headseeker on it)
I totally agree with you. Because of how stable the gun is with it’s frame, it’s probably even worth going something like full bore just to max it’s range even at a detriment to stability. Especially if you’re going with rapid hit as your perk option but even with headseeker I doubt full bore would change how the gun feels all that much
@@jaden577 While probably true, I would rather stay more true to the guns original stability and not hurt it. I’m a 30 yr old dad and it’s true…as I’ve gotten older I’ve fallen in love with pulses more and more. But don’t get it twisted I’ll still put on a shotty and HC if I have to sweat but damn pulses are fun 😂
I'm not even a dad and I love pulses 😭 I'd use a HC but I can't consistently hit that 3 tap with all headshots cuz my shots aren't that great. So in comes the pulse...
PvP: No PvE: Yes. Absolutely yes! Melting champions at 15-20 below level with one mag of a kinetic primary while getting 30% of your super back is no joke, and it’s even a great ad clear. The intrinsic updates and catalyst takes it to another level.
The outbreak despite having a low recoil stat actually has basically no recoil not sure why but it is incredibly easy to get the optimal ttk and is just a very easy gun to use
Bungie talked about this years ago, it's built on an Auto Rifle frame and it's the only Pulse in the game to have that feature. It's inherently more stable than any other Pulse in the game. Stats are misleading on it for that very reason. It's kind of like how Luna's Howl is a 140 handcannon but it was built on a 180 handcannon frame.
I agree with your outbreak review however after spending time with a keep away head seeker Scalar Potential I disagree with you there. That gun is SO so consistent. Turns out it has a lot of…Potential…aha…ahh yes there’s the exit, I’ll see myself out.
Thanks for saving me from wasting my time grinding this mission. I hate these exotic missions, and hate them even more if they hide a PvP monster gun in a PvE activity.
I honestly would way way rather get a craftable version of the Bad Juju because it is the same archetype of pulse rifle as the Outbreak Perfected but it can 2 tap with its String of curses perk, so Bad Juju with a good selection of perks would have a lot more potential to be a great pvp weapon than the Outbreak has.
@@xNeoNxCyaN Would seem like a waste if the whole team is required to run arc weapons for that aspect to have a use. Chromatic Fire gives dragonfly to kinetics…so maybe? You could be right, was gonna mention the Strand Better Devils in the new trailer but, that could’ve been for show.
@@Aurkus23I’m pretty sure the aspect is supposed to make enemies jolted, not your gun. At the same time if you use it above allies it’s supposed to make them amplified. Meaning it will apply the debuff to the enemies directly. The only thing I can think of in the game that will allow your gun to apply jolted is voltshot.
It kinda sucks in PVP right now. Between the huge hand cannon meta, and the fact that lightweight pulses are probably the worst off archetype right now. That being said, I kinda love using it in PVE. Run Strand, get Banner of War, and keep procing it and tangles with Outbreak. It sucks that it basically still has the same stat range as it did years ago. Really shows how much power creep has occurred. These stats used to be king.
lol. Truth. HCs don’t equal skill. I did the quest solo. Very frustrating but doable. Almost went flawless. I think the the issue is running the legend quest to get the intrinsics unlocked. I think that’s going to be a real pain.
@@sauceinmyface9302 good to know! I saw something about that on the forums and wasn’t sure if it was the case. Just knew it felt harder than necessary for “normal”. But now that I know I can bounce back in to get the rest of the quest completed. 👍🏼
Still unable to beat the normal mode. 3 attempts so far, 2 solo (didn’t even get to the boss) and 1 using fireteam finder (took ages to get into team) Finally made it to boss only to find my teammates were nowhere to be found…… Failed. Not sure i can be bothered to try again. Hate timed missions. Wouldn’t be so bad if it was easier to get into team.
Its funny, i only left a comment on frostbolts lightweight pulse video, basically saying how they are completely obsolete right now. In d1, the lightweights outshined the adaptives due to the duelling capabilities and better ttk. Buffing lightweights more, would make adaptives obsolete, just like they were in d1 Right now, the whole crucible meta is the most imbalanced meta we've had since d2s launch imo. Hand cannons dominate in every way possible. Theres no place for lightweigh pulse rifles, when 140 hand cannons do everything that all 5 archetypes of pulse do, but better. At least high impacts and rapid fires have their place in the meta as a competitive option
I really dont think rapid hit is necessary sinces its so stable inherently and reload isn’t that bad so im going for headseeker for the slight damage increase and extra aim assist
Im not running a mission for a gun i already have and had to run again to get the catalyst just stupid... The ones that have already did the mission before should be able to craft the Outbreak we already have.
If you could do it back then, you can do it again now that resilience gives DR, we have way stronger weapons, subclass reworks, mod reworks, etc. It takes less than 20 minutes. It's not hard. You did the old version of this mission for the old version of the weapon. If you want the new version of the weapon, do the new version of the mission. There's absolutely nothing wrong/annoying about this. Even if you were able to "craft" the old one, you'd need to do the new version anyways to get the new traits just like other craftable exotics.
I'm trying to solo Zero Hour and I forgot about a few of the things in the mission and ended up losing like 10 mins of my time and ended up failing because of that
It's pretty difficult, might be best to wait till next week. There are a couple bugs. Apparently the enemies in normal are the same as in legend, and the boss and servitor when the boss brig comes as well as the brig will invis kill you by the architects. I died 9 times by architects my first try. Even while trying to hide I still died to nothing, neither boss was shooting me and still died. After 8 trys I finally beat it solo but it was a pain.
I feel like rapid hit is the best perk overall. It allows you to hit and keep hitting easier, plus it buffs reload insanely well. I am curious about how the nanites will affect headseeker though.
Headseeker is the secret sauce to make this family work. TTK slaves just completely ignore it. The ease of use boost with HS is enormous. Like I’m sorry tv but you clearly just haven’t used a good headseeker roll on this frame. You simply can’t say the stuff you did if you’ve used one.
Umm… this is a real weird comment dude. I never said I used Headseeker on it bc it’s time gated lol, I’ve used it on Lightweights and the return on investment isn’t as good as other families mathematically. Unless you’re stacking HS and another Damage buff like Chattering Bone. Real weird snarky comment man lol just politely disagree like normal ppl.
On paper it’s not, but even after bungie reduced the flinch that primaries take hand cannons still get flinched to the moon it feels like. Especially by pulses. Meaning it’s harder for you to hit those shots when you’re being shot back, and hand cannon ttks become pretty bad if you’re not 3 tapping. Whereas with a pulse or auto, missing one shot doesn’t make much of a difference usually and the fight is still recoverable. Sure, hand cannons do have a lot of aim assist and magnetism and in the right hands they could feel pretty oppressive, but how many people who have never touched the game before could hop into the game currently and be a hand cannon god without practice? Whereas on the flip side, pulses and autos are way easier to use and are just as competitive. That’s just my opinion though, I’m not really a hand cannon elitist, just an enjoyer. They just feel really satisfying when you’re popping off and really bad when you’re playing bad, making them a more accurate representation of a person’s skill if they’re able to be super consistent with them.
If Handcannons aren’t the highest skill primary what is? Pulse rifles, side arms, auto rifles, scout rifles, smgs High aim assist doesn’t make the gun easier to use when almost every other option allows you to sit in the back of the map or just hold the trigger down. I love auto rifles and pulses but they are not high skill and we know smgs aren’t
The highest "skill" primaries are either bows or scouts. Both drastically suffer if a shot is missed and require longer ranges traditionally (excluding special cases like hush and dmt) but of course that's if you literally mean only landing head shots as "skill" and not the 4 other skills of weapon mastery.
Hand canons are definitely the highest skill primaries. Don’t let pulse rifle Andies ever tell you otherwise. I have huge respect for TV but I disagree with him at times.
@@theremnants6807 that is the most wild statement I’ve heard in a while. I would agree with you if people played with those weapons aggressively, but 99 percent of bow scout users are Lanning Larry’s camping in the back of the map. Their so far out of range that return fire only tickles their pickle and they can continue landing ranged shots
I mean... I play on console. Did you, like, want me to XIM? You realize Aim Assist is on MnK as well in big quantities as Bungie themselves noted right? Weird comment bro, like no hot woman out there is really going to care that you play Destiny 2 on Mouse and Keyboard so why you trying to act like it's a flex lol
Nah, I crafted Chattering Bone with Rapid Hit + Headseeker , I'm good. Bungie's PVE content is so anti-fun after Lightfall, that I would have to be really bored to play this exotic mission. Apparently even on normal it's harder than a Dungeon. "You need to grab some friends or clanmates" - you lost me here.
The whole point of this gun is that you dont actually feel the stability the way it shoots make it not matter nearly as much as you think, agree with everything else tho
5:13 Nah gotta interject right there, handcannons are definitely the benchmark for player skill. Love ya Vanguard but ain’t no way I’m about to let someone advocate that pulse rifles are closer to the benchmark instead, you’ve gotta be kidding. Pulse rifles and autos are pretty much in the same category IMO, stand and deliver which is a term you’ve used in the past. It takes a lot more to slay out with a handcannon in a match than it does using a pulse to do it. I don’t think any “pretending” is necessary here, if you see someone drop 50 kills with a scrim load out (HC/Shotty or HC/Sniper), you respect it more than Pulse Rifle Perry who sat and laned the entire time and played his life behind his teammates all the while keeping a cryosthesia handy in case someone compromises his camping spot. With a HC just having high aim assist isn’t enough to discredit the skill ceiling for the playstyle it requires. You still need to be good with reticle placement, your movement has to be worth a damn, peek shooting effectively is required as well. There are a lot of different factors and skills that go into being good with a HC, regardless of the aim assist value. It doesn’t take much to slay a with a pulse, if anything pulse rifle usage, auto rifle usage and scout usage are the bottom 3 on the skill tier list. There isn’t much need for brainpower for those weapons, that’s a large reason why pulses and autos are ruling right now, everybody gets the effect of Low input/ High output. I couldnt let the HC downplay slide my boi 😂
100% agree with the HC talk. They are the easiest weapons to use in pvp. Don’t have to be anywhere near the head for a crit. Anybody who says they are the highest skill weapons to use need to take those training wheels off lol.
I hated the original Whisper Mission, the same with Outbreak. I have both, I'm not going through those again just to craft them. (I hate jumping puzzzles BTW)
Every gun in this game is easy but hcs still take far more skill to use than sidearms where aimimg for the head is entirely optional and literally no can even outgun you.
"The stocks are only really there to make up for the bad stability...." really???? One of the most stable guns on the entire game...bad stability?who cares if stability is low... its visual recoil is non existent for fuck sake...the only problems this thing has is reload and handling... things stocks can do wonders for...
It matters because flinch is tied to your stability stat. If it’s too low, you’ll actually get a flinch penalty. More stability means better chances of hitting your shots while under fire.
Annoys the fucking shit out of me when bungie reprises weapons and they don’t update the stats. They gave this thing the spare rations treatment. Too hard to click a few buttons on bungies end
We literally got stocks andnwe can finally get rid of extended barrel taking away 10 handling. In PvP you are looking at at least +10 handling or stability or a bunch of different combos. Me swapping to smallbore, smooth grip is automatically a +15 handling and +12 stability.
I had 30K kills (PvE) on my Outbreak and after crafting one and looking at them side by side there is no reason to use the old Outbreak - It is simply inferior in every way. It’s absolutely worth spending half a day to unlock everything.
Thank you for speaking the truth about hand cannons. So tired of running into the sweats in pvp acting like they're gods gift to mankind with their meta hand cannons paired with "meta shotgun here" or beloved. Bungie said they were trying to bring skill back to crucible with the checkmate blanket changes yet they jump through hoops to keep 140s the most free primary in the game at base and don't balance out of band exotics while neutering bows in the process.... where's the skill?
@stasis760 they have the highest aim assist cone in the whole game, 3 degrees if memories serve. Most everything else is under 2 degrees. Too much ease of use, and it is stifling other weapons in game.
I don't think it's worth doing the mission if you already have one. For one the mission is not newbie friendly at all and LFG is already a nightmare for it. Normal is also bugged as the enemies are at legend strength. Also, if you so plan on legend then those switches? Ya, you all need to let them reset because your quest won't progress for all members. Dumb
That's not the only bug. The servitor and brig will kill you even when they're not attacking you and it says killed by architects. I'd hide pop out shoot then go back to hiding and die immediately to nothing.
Nothing will ever EVER sound better than the sound Outbreak makes on a crit kill.

Fellow dad rifle lovers unite! (Did I get first comment lol)
I’m a 30 yr old dad and it’s true…as I’ve gotten older I’ve fallen in love with pulses more and more. But don’t get it twisted I’ll still put on a shotty and HC if I have to sweat but damn pulses are fun 😂
@@gamerclips1882BIG same lol. 🤣
Holy shit.. first comment.. congrats!!! Your life has meaning now!!!! ❤❤ you got THE FIRST COMMENT ON A UA-cam VIDEO!! ALL HAIL THE KING!!🥰🥰🤦♂️
I'm not even a dad and I love pulses 😭 I'd use a HC but I can't consistently hit that 3 tap with all headshots cuz my shots aren't that great. So in comes the pulse...
Taking your dadvice on this one.
PvP: No
PvE: Yes. Absolutely yes!
Melting champions at 15-20 below level with one mag of a kinetic primary while getting 30% of your super back is no joke, and it’s even a great ad clear.
The intrinsic updates and catalyst takes it to another level.
Just announced a huuuuge pulse buff in pve btw
Idk. I used to use it in PVP and it was pretty good. I guarantee it’ll be great with Headseeker.
I have a special place in my heart for this gun so yeah it is
TV, If I catch you or any other of my favorite destiny tubers in the Crucible...I'm farming kills that day lol
Extended mag, rewind rounds.. i really want this gun to become a pve meta option
Finally someone said it 🙌 the HC elitism is absurd
Thanks for saving me from wasting my time grinding this mission. I hate these exotic missions, and hate them even more if they hide a PvP monster gun in a PvE activity.
I’m sorry comparing hand cannon ease of use with the flinch meta we’re in to pulse rifles is amazing 🤣 what’s the ttk if ya miss a shot 🤔
Great vid TV!
It’s trippy to hear this opinion from vanguard. I feel like when I use outbreak in pvp I’m cheating.
Need to see if this can combine with the new arc hunter aspect. Don’t know if it gives jolt to non-arc weapons or not, Siva and Jolt could be fun.
Highly unlikely that it would, volatile rounds don’t go on kinetic weapons so I would imagine jolt wouldn’t go on one either
Bungie bringing this nanite-storm back right at the beginning of cicada-pocalypse here in the US. Coincidence?
Legend and normal mode enemies are the same right now. If you're used to combat in normal, you can do legend.
@@sauceinmyface9302 good to know! I saw something about that on the forums and wasn’t sure if it was the case. Just knew it felt harder than necessary for “normal”. But now that I know I can bounce back in to get the rest of the quest completed. 👍🏼
it’s a lazer beam now, all you need to change is small bore &rapid hit
Still unable to beat the normal mode. 3 attempts so far, 2 solo (didn’t even get to the boss) and 1 using fireteam finder (took ages to get into team) Finally made it to boss only to find my teammates were nowhere to be found…… Failed. Not sure i can be bothered to try again. Hate timed missions. Wouldn’t be so bad if it was easier to get into team.
Wouldn’t Headseeker be the go to for Outbreak, given the lack of forgiveness Lightweights have in PvP?
Yes 💯
@@chriskim757 I thought headseeker was more valuable on the pulses that can't two burst like this one. But vanguard seems to disagree.
@@otisdriftwood7094I’m in the boat of we’ll wait and see, cause it’d be pretty nutty if the nanites could proc headseeker
Accurate assessment. Super sticky, though!
I have it.... never used it. At least it gave some people a lob on and Bungie probably got a few numbers playing
0:45 its me lmao
Its funny, i only left a comment on frostbolts lightweight pulse video, basically saying how they are completely obsolete right now.
In d1, the lightweights outshined the adaptives due to the duelling capabilities and better ttk. Buffing lightweights more, would make adaptives obsolete, just like they were in d1
Right now, the whole crucible meta is the most imbalanced meta we've had since d2s launch imo.
Perfect! Pvp not on my to do list
Didn’t lightweight just got a damage buff?
@@jonahbrown5669 the annoying part is doing the same fucking content AGAIN for the same shit.
Rapid fires still better dueling weapon…so those who use dad rifles just use a crafted over soul, or that riven season one🤷♂️
great video tv
If nanites proc headseeker imma shid
How you kill titan threw the barrier in the beginning?
The nanites killed the titan
NANO MACHINES SON
This gun is getting boss damage nerfed according to the weapon tuning preview so i'm going to pass on grinding for this one.
Getting cooked by tv is tough
Tried it in pantheon its pretty garbage. Id wait til they buff pulse rifles for pve
I’ll never understand how hand cannons take a lot of skill to use in peopled eyes. How is hitting three shots with a hand cannon difficult? lol
@@jaden577 Hand cannons dont get fliched at all so not sure what game you are playing
So no head?
If Handcannons aren’t the highest skill primary what is? Pulse rifles, side arms, auto rifles, scout rifles, smgs
High aim assist doesn’t make the gun easier to use when almost every other option allows you to sit in the back of the map or just hold the trigger down.
@@theremnants6807i threw up in my mouth 🤢
Hand canons are definitely the highest skill primaries. Don’t let pulse rifle Andies ever tell you otherwise. I have huge respect for TV but I disagree with him at times.
@@theremnants6807 that is the most wild statement I’ve heard in a while. I would agree with you if people played with those weapons aggressively, but 99 percent of bow scout users are Lanning Larry’s camping in the back of the map.
Their so far out of range that return fire only tickles their pickle and they can continue landing ranged shots
@@Ayo_zak bro, same. That was a ridiculous statement and he had to be trolling
Yes.
Why bother bungie will nerf it
Yes. Yes you should.
Only if you don't already have it
Hitting a full burst from Outbreak is just as easy as hitting a headshot with a hc. Dont kid yourself.
Praying nanite damage procs rewind rounds
Glad you mentioned how ppl fool themselves about how hand cannons are not that high of a skill weapon.
im gonna use my free name change and do true gambit lol
lol imagine a roller player knokin on AA. This guy
Say it for the people in the back.
HAND CANNONS ARE MORE FORGIVING THAN PULSES.
It's too hard ti grind, I'd rather keep the original
The whole point of this gun is that you dont actually feel the stability the way it shoots make it not matter nearly as much as you think, agree with everything else tho
If I remember correctly they used the recoil animation from an auto rifle for it, which is why it feels so stable.
Yeah Hand cannons are easy mode
With it being craftable it should boost stats when you get the full intrinsic right?
We literally got stocks andnwe can finally get rid of extended barrel taking away 10 handling.
In PvP you are looking at at least +10 handling or stability or a bunch of different combos.
Me swapping to smallbore, smooth grip is automatically a +15 handling and +12 stability.
It's a PvE weapon
Only a pvp noob thinks every gun is made for pvp. Every gun varies on usage with person.
Dad Rifle user for life. Relentless , No time , Elsie's , Blast Furnace , Ju-Ju etc...... Pulse users union unite🤘🤘
I thought you quit Destiny… 😂
I had 30K kills (PvE) on my Outbreak and after crafting one and looking at them side by side there is no reason to use the old Outbreak - It is simply inferior in every way. It’s absolutely worth spending half a day to unlock everything.
Too much work, too little gun for the effort.
Not worth it. Got it years ago. Who cares?
Thank you for speaking the truth about hand cannons. So tired of running into the sweats in pvp acting like they're gods gift to mankind with their meta hand cannons paired with "meta shotgun here" or beloved. Bungie said they were trying to bring skill back to crucible with the checkmate blanket changes yet they jump through hoops to keep 140s the most free primary in the game at base and don't balance out of band exotics while neutering bows in the process.... where's the skill?
So hand cannons need to catch an aim assisstant cone nerf. That's what I'm gathering from this.
Nah, but they aren't the hardest guns to use. They have alot of ease of use
@stasis760 they have the highest aim assist cone in the whole game, 3 degrees if memories serve. Most everything else is under 2 degrees. Too much ease of use, and it is stifling other weapons in game.
As a HC main i wouldn't mind a HC aim assist nerf but compensate bu reducing bloom.
Algorithm
I use Ace of Spades, probably has least aim assist.
Ace is actually one of the highest aim assist weapons in the game at 70 aim assist
@@Sullyjr Not for a 140 though, hawkmoon has 93 and Rose has 85.
