Weird interpretation of some symbolism, notice how the boy in this video is almost constantly walking right, but at the end, when he accepts his sister's death and moves on, he moves left. Those in Japan read right to left, so if you think about it, him moving right can signify that he can't move on, he's trying to go to the past before his sister died.
But when he finally accepts it, he begins to head to the future, left.

What I got from this is that the girl is the boy’s sister, and she either died/committed suicide. Perhaps the girl was teased/bullied (From the line, “Fingers always being pointed her way”), and the boy, not wanting anything to do with that, decided to distance himself from his sister (Hence the line, “So let’s not walk together anymore.”) Deep down the boy actually cared about the girl, but couldn’t say that because it might’ve been “uncool” because she was a girl or because she was his sister, and he was afraid of being teased, too. He slowly started to notice the girl becoming dull and depressed, but he said nothing about it because she was still smiling, after all. At 1:36, the girl reached out to the boy, seeking for help because she couldn’t help but notice her younger/older brother just standing to the side, accepting the fact that she was being bullied. In the MV, He gets up from the bench and leaves, signaling that he knew, he just didn’t want to get involved like that. At 1:42, a table is shown. It could be the sister’s table, because it has burnt out cigarettes, eyedrops, and tissues. The eyedrops and tissues were used for when she cried, and she had cigarettes to smoke. At around 2:45, The boy concludes that her sister’s suicide was all his fault, and if he had done something different she’d be alive. And finally, at 3:51, the mirror reflects a reality where the girl would actually be alive if he had stood up for her. Outside of the mirrors though, he looks content and has finally accepted her death.

@@user-ro7ti5se3gEveさんがRiot of colorというバンドにいた頃に作詞作曲されたものなので、Eveさん自身が作詞作曲をしたのはsisterが初めてです。この曲は、Riot of colorが出したCDに収録されていたものですが、今UA-cam等で見れるものは全てこれのリアレンジです。CDは多分もう売られていないので、この先僕達がアレンジ元の曲を聞くことは出来ないですね😅

My god, this made me cry. My sister isn't dead, but this certainly made me realize how happy I am that she is alive. We both been struggling with depression, and it hurts to know that she isn't doing well. I moved far away, and now I feel like I need to send her a letter.

So, this is my interpretation of the video.
Judging by the title, the girl is the boy’s older/younger sister. Seeing that he’s the only one with a shadow, I’d say she’s dead.
This video is about reconciliation imo. The boy has things he couldn’t say to her when she was alive and things he regrets doing or saying to her.
He blamed her for many things when she was alive as seen in 0:28 where she “often had fingers pointed her way” when she “only wanted love”. Like, brotherly love, but he pushed her away.
Maybe because he was being rebellious and thought it was embarrassing being with his sister all the time?
In 0:40, he says “I don’t want to always have to be with you”. Like a sister walking with her brother, but the little brother thinks it’s embarrassing because she’s a girl.
In the end of the video, I’m pretty sure that’s a sign of forgiveness to himself. To stop the haunting image of her sister in his mind and the regrets he has from her death, he had to let go of the memories where he hurt her.
The face of the normally solemn sister was lively at the end as she walked up to her brother. I guess the sister in his head stopped becoming something less as torture to think about.

The lines at 2:36 - 2:47 hurt the most for me. The way I see it:
"The you who passed through the tunnel did so by walking straight ahead, facing forward" The tunnel is The Tunnel of Death, connecting our world to the afterlife. I take this song to be about the sister's suicide because she "walked straight ahead, facing forward" to her death, it was deliberate.
"The you who looked for a way to continue did so by walking straight ahead, facing forward" We've seen that she's been walking behind him the entire time. She was walking straight ahead, facing forward, which was directly at him, looking for a way to continue living but he had his back to her the whole time.
The lines "If you're looking for something you dropped, then it's right here, sister. But you keep on with that lonely (I'd translate "sabishisou" here as looking 'lonely' over 'solemn', but either way) face and I don't understand that" is talking about her looking for a way to continue. She "dropped" or "lost" her will to live. For someone in the narrator's position, it's sometimes hard to understand how depression in their loved ones works. He's saying, "If you've lost your will to live, it's right here, it's everywhere. Your life obviously has value" because for people who are not suicidal, their loved one's worth is obvious. But she keeps looking lonely anyway and he doesn't get that to her finding the will to live is not so obvious.
This line later changes to "If you're looking for something you dropped, then it's right here, sister. But you keep on with that lonely face and tears fall from my cheeks" (that's a more exact translation of that tears line, the english subtitles in the song are written to be more poetic which is beautiful. Just for the purposes of this interpretation I'll use the more accurate version) is the MOMENT that he understands what he didn't before. That for someone who is suicidal, finding the will to live is not easy or obvious. This goes into the first part I wrote about (2:36-2:47) which is him coming to the realization that she had tried so hard for a long time to find a way to live, but just couldn't do it, and he feels like he had turned his back on her that whole time. The song ends with him reflecting that it had taken him so long to realize that about her and himself.
It happens so often in life that we take for granted the people we care about most, who we think will just always be around no matter what. But at the same time, if someone kills themselves it's never anyone's fault. It takes so much to push a person to that edge and even then, dying from suicide is succumbing to a mental illness. Like any illness, sometimes people don't get the help they need in time and it's not their loved one's faults for not realizing. This tragic song coupled with the music video is about growing and learning from a loss like this. At the end his reflection turns around and welcomes his sister to walk with him. If we hold onto guilt and grief over our loss, we can drown in it. But if we understand, acknowledge, and let it go, we can learn from it, so we won't make the same mistakes again. He's changed and now will carry the spirit of his sister with him, making sure to turn around and invite those he loves most to walk with him into the future.
It's such a beautiful song and video, I think that people feeling so emotional while watching and listening whether they have their own interpretation or not speaks to the fact that it is incredibly well made, both musically and artistically. Bravo, Eve!

My sister isn't dead. She just isn't here. She was kinda lost to a custody battle between our dad and her mom (different moms) and this song really made me realize how much I miss her. I got in contact with her somehow pretty recently, like last year. She told me that she was doing well, and that she really didn't want me back, because of bad memories. I cried. I can't exactly say why. I just cried. It was a mix of knowing I'd probably never talk to her again, and the fact that she was doing well. The tears weren't happy, they weren't sad. They were just there. This song reminded me of her. Mia, I hope you're doing well. Your name is still on your door by the way, if you even know what I'm talking about

今ツイッター見ててふとこの動画見たんだけど、妹の方には影無いよな。兄にはさよならを言えないままこの世界を去ったってことだな。アボガドさんはE ve君の声にも歌で作られる印象に神マッチしててこの世が終わりそうなくらいの力が感じられますね。終わって欲しくないけど。

Sister is a story about loss, grief, regret and acceptance.
At the start of Sister, Eve (From the POV of the brother) talks about his sister often having fingers pointed her way, and her being bullied and possibly harassed, all while he turned a blind eye to that, in fear of the consequences of supporting her.
In the chorus, the brother is seen looking down and ignoring his sister's cries for help and support. Him looking down is meant to symbolise the fact he knows what he's not happy about what he's doing either. After that you see a lot of images flashing in her silhouette, these all presumably being the memories flashing through the brother's head. Throughout the music video you can see that only the brother has a shadow, maybe symbolising hes looking at himself and judging his past actions, and his negative emotions.
"The you who passed through that tunnel, did so by walking straight ahead, facing forward. The you who was looking for a way to continue, did so by facing forward and walking straight ahead." Here "the tunnel" likely being the passage from life to the afterlife. However, she was actively looking for a way to continue living in the same manner. Here the brother is seen grasping at his sister's image, but he was too late, as she fades away right as he does so.
"Thinking back on everything that went wrong, everything had clearly been my fault. But i could never say the words i'd been wanting to say; that I have always, always been thinking about you" Further solidifying that the brother sincerely regrets what happened, and blames himself for it.
At the end, the sister steps onto his shadow, and fades away into the image of a gravesite. She has passed through that tunnel, and the brother's finally accepted what happened, and why. The same scene occurs as the one we saw at the very start, but without his sister. His red shadow is no longer present and the brother walks straight ahead, facing forward. Reflected in the glass behind him, we see a a past image of what could have been. They tread forward, happily, and instead of the sister trailing behind, she walks that same path along with her brother. The brother was dwelling on his sister's death, and finally manages to overcome his regret and begins to only think about the positive memories instead.
