@@Wanksteez I both almost fell and puked. I saw inside his jet. Looking down into it. I don’t think closer is good for you. It was two but the one was so close. He never could have seen me. That about sums it up. Not as cool as it was fast and disoriented after. 😆✌️
That's a great question, practice / experience in similar situations made abig difference and then believing in yourself and your abilities. I felt very in control while walking that skinny part because I had done similar stuff and trust in my abilities to place my feet where I want them to go and asses terrain for being loose / solid.
@@Wanksteez Solid answer. This is why I push myself to overcome fears. Situations like this gives me confidence in other areas of life. I’ve been on ridges a lot less terrifying than that one and was proud after pushing through. 👍
I will do this one day. I’ll do it for a friend that is not here anymore but exposed me to the beauty of Sangre de Cristo. He would have liked to be able to do it ❤ Thanks for the video
Lol I’ve done Capitol, Pyramid, Crestones. Hoping to do El-Diente Wilson and Maroon Traverse soon, there’s a 0% chance I’ll ever do LB-Blanca. Props to you for kicking ass on that peak
Thanks ! If you could handle those you could handle this, it wasn't as loose as I was lead to believe and really fun. We all finished and really had a great time.
Awesome video! I think I have heard that this is the hardest of the four great traverses of Colorado 14ers. Out of curiosity how long do you think it took you to do the full traverse from Little Bear to Blanca?
I'm glad you enjoyed the vid! I will have to go home and double check the time stamps from the vids to get the exact time, but my guess was like 2 hrs. It's a little over a mile, but no one is moving that fast up there. However, since we didn't have ropes or anything else, we were able to move pretty efficiently.
Stumbled across your channel, loving your content. If you get the chance check out Tehipite Dome (John Muir Wilderness/King's Canyon Nat Park). It is a bitch to get to backpacking, but the view (and valley) are stunning.
I live in the Valley there. Every summer we see/hear the rescue heloicopters...and know someone died...someone dies at least one or 2 per year. Just saying..
The road is annoying to go up on foot but it's ok. Not the worst that's for sure. I love the hike up, the Blanca trail is one of my favorite 14er trails. We drove up the trail quite a ways in my jeep before finding a spot big enough to park. I wouldn't want to hike it from the very bottom if I don't have to.
Wow. BUT, the Gopro is fisheye, as you can see whenever the horizon appears. It greatly increases how steep the dropoffs look. I hope this trick doesn't become the norm for making videos look scarier.
Its not a trick, there are places on this traverse that are 12-18 inches wide with over 500 feet of air on either side. That's plenty of exposure for most people.
@@Wanksteez Yah I guess I don't mean "trick," and yah there's obviously stunning exposure. But I'm wondering if all of UA-cam's fisheye climbing photography leads less experienced climbers to try harder things than they otherwise would. Things as hard as they've "seen" on videos.
Yep. I live in that Vallwy and every summer we see and hear the heliocopters and know soneone just died or went missing. Its crazy how often people die up there on the Sangres. Stupid, if you ask me..
We do everything we can to minimize risk. We are all experienced, have open conversations about our abilities and comfort with the risks we are taking. I have rescue insurance, and we are usually successful as a result of our efforts, abilities, and experience.
Thanks for the tour. I plan to do the traverse, so very helpful.👍
You are very welcome, its a fun one, be safe!
Jack says "that's VERY dangerous!" You're nuts :) thanks for sharing these views with the world
Maybe a little, honestly I felt surprisingly in control while walking the catwalk.
A few jets went under us on the narrow spooky crossing. I almost lost it. Nice work guys.
Wow thats rad and must have been something.

Wow... !!! My best friend, It's always great. Your video is excellent quality. We liked and enjoyed to the end. Thanks
Thank you very much

Thanks man! Subscribe to the channel for more mountain adventures!
Well done!! Thank you for sharing.
You are quite welcome, thanks for watching!
I can't wait to try this route! Its been on my list for to dang long
You should, its alot of fun. With any multi pitch or mountaineering experience it will be chill.
How do you overcome fear on that ridge? Great video!

Great footage on the ridge! Nicely done!
Thanks! This was a super rad day and worth doing if you are ever in the area.

strong work, team
Thank you!
That was sick. Good stuff dude
Thanks, this was a great day in the mountains!
This is next level
Thanks! This was a really fun day in the mountains.
Sick. Adding to the list.
You totally should, this is a great route!
I'm sitting in my Suzuki at work right now. But my Jeep is at home in the garage. Where is your Jeep?
Non existent, but we take the Suzuki to plenty of places it shouldn't go.
Tough traverse for certain. Getting there is a pain a well

That's a nope
my bum puckered when orange helmet slipped.
That was me, not my finest moment. I had an injured ankle at the time and it went so I just hit the deck to try and minimize the injury.
@@Wanksteez Very happy you are ok, the way you carried on was pretty bad ass.
It’s ok to blink!
GOOD LORD!!!!!!!!!
This is what its all about!
Love the edit dude!
Thanks man! This is a great route that you shouldn't be that scared of and is super worth it.
Omg 😱

Around the 4:00 mark, I had to skip forward. I couldn't watch the exposure parts. LOL
Mountains = 4x4...Snow, Rocks, Mud...Safety 🏞🗻🏕🛻
Wrong
wow, dont slip
Wouldn't dream of it!
Wish they would make a foot path into the massif. Such an amazing area to explore. But that rock road with all those jeeps and ATVs is not enjoyable.
I'll agree, the approach wasn't alot of fun but could certainly be worse, its manageable.

No thank you. Mt. Bierstadt to Mt. Evans was tough enough for me.
Did you do the Sawtooth Ridge loop? I haven't done that but have heard good things, if you can do that you could make this happen.
@@Wanksteez Yes. Worth it but not to be taken lightly. Don't take easily frightened people.

and then rescuers risk their lives to get you or your body out when you fall.. you should have to put up a refundable rescue charge.
