The real problem is that the company don't want a concrete lore to the alien franchise. Just keep making stuff up and not beholden to a clear vision of the alien mythology
Bro Alien Romulus is a Fantastic Movie compared to the rest of this unoriginal trash they keep putting out! Also seeing it on the big screen in complete darkness gave it an entirely different experience than watching it in my living room.
I agree with Uncle T this wasn’t an interesting story to justify making into a film. There was nothing new with too much fans service to previous films. Alien Romulus was more a corporate branded product design to make money on nostalgia. It’s wasn’t a creative works which added to the legacy of the alien storyline. I think alien Romulus missed opportunity killing off the Big Chap alien recovered in space. The film should have been about him not these space teenagers. Ps I know why people don’t like alien 3 but as stand alone film it’s pretty good despite the flaws.
I've watched Alien 👽 Romulus probably a dozen times now and it's still entertaining 🎉 Nothing will ever compare to the original Alien and Aliens movies, but this was a fun semi-soft reboot of the franchise that introduced at least two new characters that I found to be interesting. Andy is my favorite new android and the Scorched Alien 😂😅
I LOVE ALL THE MOVIES... I REALLY ENJOYED THIS MOVIE - NOTHING DEEP - JUST GREAT ALIEN KILLING AND SUSPENCE... NOTHING WILL EVER BE GREATER THAN THE FIRST 2 MOVIES - IT WAS NEW AND ORIGINAL... YOU WILL ALWAYS BE CHASING THE FIRST 2 MOVIES IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN !!!!
I've been burned TOO many times by BAD Aliens follow-ups, that i didn't even bother with this one. Just like Terminator, only the first two movies in the series are worth a crap.

The movie was just a reminder there are two better Alien movies (the first two). Fan service at its worst. I had high hopes for this one but should have known better.
Alien Resurrection was actually pretty good. Many fans hate it I don't. Alien 3 was well a mess thanks to the damn studio. After Prometheus I stop caring about the Aliens franchise completely. Is been milked at this point. No point to watch this new Alien films.
@ Scott produced it and his production company. He’s the one pushing to get all these movies made and making all the money on the back end. The director is just hired for the job and moves on. Scott has been in charge of the franchise for decades.
It was fun. Prometheus and covenant were considered failures. Ridley has said he felt the aliens story was done, and wanted to explore AI. Which is why david is so pivotal in both movies. The black goo, is as bad as jedi midichlorians, no one needed or want the explanation. The goo and man baby, were the required nod to Ridley. I didnt like those parts, but its the only time i really enjoyed an alien movie since 2. So it did alot for the franchise by not being a convoluted mess, having regularish aliens, and good action. Its the first commercial success for the franchise in a long line of disappointments and mediocrity (im looking at you avp 2)
If ridley would have kept one engineer alive on covenant, it would have made a very interesting movie. The audience would have had a character to learn something about the engineer civilization, but ridley got goo on the brain

I agree it was underwhelming but I love what the director did with the 2013 evil dead remake. If you haven't you need to see that movie it's good.
