Hi Brendan! Love your videos. Just an FYI, when you cook fat, it vaporizes into the air, floats, and then lands. Think about the vent over your stove and the wall behind the stove. They get all nasty with grease and have to be cleaned occasionally. That's what's going to happen to the ceiling and fabric in your car. It's going to start smelling like food and get a greasy film. It's gross and it happens every single time you cook a greasy meal. You also have to watch for steam making your ceiling liner droop over time if you boil stuff. I'm in my car for months at a time so I cook vegan meals 2 times a week and then put the leftovers in my 12 volt fridge and I cook a few serving of fish outside my car once a week and have leftovers the rest of the week. Since you're only in your car every now and then, I suggest you cook your greasy meals outside your car.
Those are really good points that I hadn't properly thought of so thank you for your insight 👍. I'm going to try and cook out the back with the boot open in future to hopefully stop those issues and invest in a table and chair to cook outside as well 🙂
Try installing a 12v switch on the positive wire of the battery (disconnect battery before doing anything with electronics), or just pull the bulb out when you're doing stuff in the boot for a long time
Wouldn't trust myself with that 😂 I would blow myself up lol. I may well look into removing the bulb though 🙂👍
Just found your channel as I was thinking of Travelling around the UK coast sometime next year, as a car detailer I have to open boots for long periods of times. what I do to turn off the rear boot lights is to flick the switch inside the actual lock on the boot itself using a car key or screwdriver, you just have to make sure that you then use the key fob to unlock the car before trying to close the boot. there are videos on youtube how to do this.
Now that's a handy tip 👍 cheers for leaving that comment buddy 🙂 great piece of advice
I LOVE THIS CONVERSION! Just shows you don't need that much! And creativity! Maximize the space
Absolutely, as long as your basic needs are met, you can be very comfortable 🙂
sitting in the back of that with the seat u have cup holders right next to u so convenient
It really is 👍 it's kinda like the perfect car to do it with to be fair 🙂
@@BrendanExplores yh it is
7:42 yeah mate, Can I have a burger with loads of slow cooked onions cheers!
On its way 😉😋
Awesome ! I have had Cold Slaw on BBQ Sandwich is good! 🍔 be safe Cooking in there 🚗 Even a nice Cup of Coffee at the end ☕ Beautiful Scenery 🏞 thank you Brendan❤☺
Sounds delicious Sharon! 😋 And I'm glad you enjoyed it 👍 always good to get away and reset 🙂
Apley Wood, that's round the corner from me!
It's a beautiful spot 🙂👍
Re rear light, probably has its own fuse or simply remove? Maybe mod it yourself to give it a witch assuming that wont screw the mot.
Yes your right mate 👍. I disconnected the bulb from the fixing and it sorted it 🙂
Yeah good video .you seem to be getting a real expert ......carry on getting real interesting 🇬🇧🇬🇧☮️☮️
Thank you very much 👍 I don't consider myself an expert at anything so I appreciate that 🙂
Just discovered your channel and I'm binge watching! Panning some stealth car camping so finding watching your journey really useful 😀
Welcome to the family buddy 👍 hopefully I can help you with some ideas 🙂. Happy camping 😁
Enjoy your videos. You make the simple pleasures in life entertaining.
Cheers John 👍 thanks for the support buddy 🙂. Glad it made you smile
Mate I can’t believe you was here, literally 5 mins from my house. As soon as I saw the B-roll I thought this is apley woods haha. Hope you had a nice time x
It's a great location for an explore 👍 and made a great camp spot for the night 😁. Glad you enjoyed the video, plenty more on the way!
Hi Brendan, this was a great! Looks like it was nice and comfy. You might want to take a splatter screen for your pan so grease doesn't splash, but I guess it would be more to wash up. Beautiful area. Glad you're enjoying your camping expeditions! Hope you & your family are well! Thank you for sharing, take really good care, stay safe! Much love Kathy x
Thanks Kathy 👍 it was surprisingly really comfortable! Will definitely consider some kind of splatter screen to stop the oil from spitting. plenty more adventures on the way 😄
Just a little tip on washing up your pan. Heat some water up in the pan first and then wash out with detergent. No greasy residue.
Top tip 👍 thank you very much 🙂
Class video, I have Seat Alhambra 7 seater which is also very big when seats go down. Looks a lot of fun, nice Burger!
Thanks Josh! The Seat Alhambra is a great car for a bit of camping 🙂. Thanks for leaving a comment 👍
Great video. If you used some kitchen roll to wipe out the pan, when it's still warm, it'll save you having to wash it. It'll also keep the non-stick, non-stick longer too :)
Thank you very much and I've learnt that the hard way unfortunately 😂. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍
@@BrendanExplores you're very welcome
Great video enjoyed watching you cooking the burger looked delish you've done a great job of transforming your car looks fab looking forward to another video x
Thank you 🙂 I can't wait to discover more places like this 👍. Might treat myself one might and get a takeaway 😂😋. Welcome to the family!
Great video love the content pal
Thanks mate, appreciate that 🙂
@@BrendanExplores going to have a go a solo stealth van camp the end of the month my self keep up the good work
@@pandaoutdoors4x4s have a great time mate and thank you 🙂
Amazing camping experience 😁 Stay safe brother.
Thanks 🙂 I really enjoyed it and I'm glad you did too 👍
I’ve been car camping for years, now in a Honda Jazz 2017. The back seats don’t go as flat as my old one but still plenty of room for myself and the dog. Have to cook outside but no problem. I just need to get window covers now, I just snuggled under my duvet to hide and parked well out of sight.
It's really good fun 👍 I've heard Honda Jazz's make for really good mini campers 🙂. Hope you enjoy my future videos and good luck with the window covers 👍
The hamburger looks really good👍
Cheers 👍 it tasted great as well 😋
What burgers did you use? They did look good
Keep um coming im doing my fist solo car camp in next couple of weeks
Cheers dude and good luck with your first camp! Exciting times 😁👍
Stumbled across your channel this evening, great video. I've spent years while growing up, exploring Apley Woods. Its nice to have in my local area.
Cheers buddy 👍 it's a lovely area 🙂. Only been there a couple of times but I'll definitely be returning again soon. Hope you enjoy the future videos!
@@BrendanExplores - the atmosphere changes at night, feels like a totally different place. I'm already watching another video 😂
just unplug ur car battery and no electrics will activate i guess easy solution. or even start ur engine while cooking to keep the battery charging but dont wanna do that now cos of fuel prices
I was able to disconnect the rear boot light thankfully and can now open the boot without the light coming on 🙂👍
Just started watching your videos mate. Must say it’s super enjoyable watching you. Big fan m8
Ps yes I have coleslaw on burgers but not bbq sauce also you little minger 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂 thanks buddy 👍 you must try it one day! The combination is amazing 😁👌. Thanks for your support mate!
@@BrendanExplores it’s a dream of mine mate! Ever since watching camping with Steve & other UA-camrs a couple years ago!! Must say you’ve slowly became my go to channel! Love your energy ! If you’ve not hit 100K subs end of this year it’s a fault of only the algorithm!!! Will be watching every step mate
@@ingrammac well, I hope we can both achieve our dreams buddy 👍 and here's to hoping eh 😁 my target is 10k by the end of the year but I'll settle for 100k 😉👌
Went to Apley Woods a few weeks back with my dad, we stood at the gate looking at all the new houses that had been built, a lady and her son got home and really gave us the evils. Acting as if they owned the place! By the way, are you keeping a few windows open when cooking? You need ventilation with butane cookers.
I got that feeling when I was there 😂 and yes I always keep the windows open a crack and have a carbon monoxide alarm present 👍
If you turn the rest of your interior lights off the boot light will eventually time out and go out 👍
Cheers for the tip buddy 👍 I'll give this a go 🙂
New sub. Liking the car camping! And if it helps, you can just remove the bulb to stop it draining your battery 👌
Cheers John 🙂 and I'll take a look at how accessible that bulb is because that seems like the simplest solution 👍. Welcome to the family 😁
Easy solution to the boot light draining the battery is to remove the bulb… chances are you don’t really need it.
Good shout 👍 problem is though, it's integrated. I can't see a way to access the bulb area without smashing plastic unfortunately but I'll take a closer look 🙂
@@BrendanExplores you can always remove the light, if it goes out you need to be able to replace it.
Another solution without all the work is to just buy a portable car jump starter.
If you are confident enough you could solder a switch into the wiring for the light too.
Where did you get the furniture legs from bud? I'm just building a stealth camper myself so using your videos for inspiration! Thanks for sharing
Thanks buddy and I got everything from b&q 👍 the legs, the wood etc all from b&q 🙂
@@BrendanExplores thanks mate. Were you able to cut the legs to size?
Love a spot of stealth camping :)
It's great isn't it? I really had fun 🙂
@@BrendanExplores it defo is :) I’ve only been doing it a smidge longer - but loving it. You hit the nail on the head with the mini holiday comment 👍🏻
What car you got? And it is litterally like a mini holiday 🙂. Explore new places and call anywhere home for the night 👍
@@BrendanExplores I’ve got a Zafira :) Tis a great size (and as a family car too 😂)
@@zafiracamper was thinking about a zafira but then this car came up close to me. How do you cope with the seats in the zafira?
Is this Apley Woods near Haywards Heath?
In Telford 😁👍
3:19 - maybe gaffer tape the switch closed...? There IS obviously a switch there somewhere to turn it on!
Yeah that's a possible solution. I did think about possibly looking at the fuse board but I think the fuse that controls the rear light also controls other lights. I did have the boot open for quite a long time though to be fair. Might just have to speed cook lol
@@BrendanExplores Ah, well, if you are going to go all technical on me and threaten to use a screwdriver, then you could just remove the bulb! 😃
If you've seen the build video then you'll know that technical isn't part of my vocabulary 😂. That's a good idea but would that stop the battery draining or would the power still be present?
@@BrendanExplores Essentially, a bulb is exactly the same as a fuse, except the wire is thinner! No power will be drawn through the circuit.
Ok then, thanks for the info, I'll have a look at how accessible that bulb is 👍
Why don't you take the bulb out 😂
Come back again.... See the review, we are my friends.....
love the show. nice to see the old shire. I'm from bridgenorth now live in ohio.
Thank you very much 🙂 Bridgenorth is a beautiful little town 👍. Greetings to you from the UK 😁
Oh really? That was my first ever video! 😁 I'll take a look 👍
Battery pack
remove the bulb before you go camping
I would of done but the bulb holding is integrated into the interior unfortunately. It doesn't play up now unless the boots open for more than half an hour 👍🙂
I read all the comments and I'm so shocked nobody mentioned carbon monoxide poisoning from the gas burning inside your unvented car. The reason you cook under a hood vent in a house? The reason why people have carbon monoxide detectors inside their homes? You cant cook on an open flame in an unvented space. You will sleep the deep sleep forever. Please never cook inside the car, Im afraid for you.
That's fair mate 👍 appreciate your concern and I do actually use a carbon monoxide alarm inside the car while cooking 🙂
I want to buy gopro and vlog but i don't have budget 🙃 help me someone
You don't need a GoPro 👍 use your phone 🙂 the best thing to do is just start vlogging
@@BrendanExplores my phone very low quality and not good voice 😕
Be more confident and less sketch around your car because your doing nothing wrong and you bring more attention to you acting off as to acting like you like your just doing your everyday thing
Yeah that's true 👍 I think my confidence will build over time and it will just become the norm for me 🙂
