      As a teenager who started a ska band, I can confirm that it's really true.

    I was just a bit too young to catch Op Ivey live, but we had their tape, and one of the first times we saw green day, they did an op ivey cover and we knew they had to be cool.

      William Hinson nah, ska was a Jamaican dance genre that most people who listen to ska punk probably know little about, and that includes the people involved

      @@louroche7581 I just think it's important to not brush over the true ska artists, even though Op Ivy and the ska punk scene was dope.
      It's just like so many other music genres, we replace the black artists with white figureheads.

    • @jaxthedogi2372
      @jaxthedogi2372 2 роки тому

      @@RBLXGaming23 they also had very indifferent opinions about where the band should go. Tim had pretty bad addictions at the time, and they were getting too much attention from record labels and people in general. But one thing they at the time all did mostly agree on is that the band just wasnt how it was when they first started. So they broke up. The rest is history 🤷‍♂. (Tho we do have some hope of Jesse starting back up with tim and maybe Matt Freeman. I mean he just played with tim and some of the dudes from the interrupters recently so Idk.)
