👍 Puma makes very good knives. I am horribly biased but believe up to the early 2000s they made great knives. I have 1 made in 1967 (White Hunter), 1 made in 1972 (Hunters’ Friend), and 1 made in 2003 (Hunters’s Pal) all purchased new by me and all used extensively. Thank you for highlighting this great historic company.
I would like to have one. I guess there's a lot of talk about "Bowie knives strapped to a neophyte's leg..." thing that probably kills a lot of urge to have one. I've always loved the Puma stag handles on their knives, just beautiful. I like to get a Puma Bowie to go with my Puma White Hunter as collectibles mainly, though I would use one of the cheaper Puma Bowies for camp use any day.
A neophytes leg and a woodsmans leg are two completely different things. There is nothing a skilled woodsman couldn't do with this blade. Thanks for watching.
I see all your video. I think you are right, the heavy hunter knife will serve better. I think i'll get the puma bowie, not that german made but maybe the puma ip. Thank you for your video.
It is a nice knife, somewhat weak due to its concave hollowing, depending on the task assigned to it. If you can, change it for the Original Puma Bowie 6376, you will not regret it, a powerful all-rounder, it supports any demands you subject it to.
@@victorrossomano5025 I'm sure that an original Puma Bowie is extraordinary!!! However, I cannot imagine breaking this knife, whether it's Hollow ground or not. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
@@glbwoodsbum2567 The concave castings have not been designed for heavy tasks, you just have to take care of that, but apart from that detail, the edge of that 6396 is a scalpel. And it also has a moderate weight and is very portable. On the other hand, in the 6376 the weight is a difficulty to consider, since its 6mm thickness carries a lot of steel, and it is 20cm of blade with table and flat casting, a beast of 420 grams. Enjoy that 6396!
Bowie knives can be large or small. An example of that would be the vest pocket Bowie knives that were carried many years ago. Thank you very much for watching and commenting.
Watched your entire series on this knife and purchased it this evening…
Very good review I am a new subscriber 👍

Great !!! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Im glad some body made a video of the puma bowie actually in use. Great set of videos.
This knife has character which is why I bought it. German 440c is well done. I am inspired to use mine more. Nice job!

Puma should give you a commission, lol. You probably have sold a few for them. You've got me wanting one. It's a great looking knife.
Thanks, good video!

I'm blown away at the fact that people are hunting bears with a 30-30.
Very nice knife thought, how much was it?
Absolutely enough power for black bear. Many I know have used a 20 gauge as well. Thanks for watching!

play some music or something in the background
The knife is to small and light for a bowie.
