This song definitely holds a special place for me. My Dad had a VHS of a Judas Priest documentary which among other things happened to have almost all of Turbo Lover on it. I think I was around 9 or 10 at the time when I found it one day and the tape happened to be stopped right at the start of the song. I had trouble remembering names at the time so I'd always refer to it as the "skeleton song." My Dad saw that I really liked the song and turns out he had a lot of records of other rock bands. We ended up listening to those records for a couple hours a few times. Turbo Lover was basically my first introduction into metal/rock music. My Dad is still around and we still discuss music but those are certainly good memories to have over 23 years later.
I just saw Judas Priest and Metallica at louder than life in September. I was so excited to finally get to see JP live, one of the greatest bands of all time no doubt
This is the kind of song that draws you into the point you can't escape. You're locked in for the entire ride, and when it ends, it leaves you wanting more!! Love it!

This is the best Judas Priest song I ever heard in my entire life
Heard this song on satellite radio yesterday afternoon. Started relating the lyrics to riding my motorcycles. I got all hyper and started crying happy tears. This song rocks.
TURBO KOCHANEK..
Judas Priest is startin to become one of my fav rock bands from the 80s. I'm only a 23 y/o woman, and I'm proud of my taste in music. I must've been fucking awesome to see this music video on the ol' MTV days. Too bad I wasn't around those days, man I would've been popular haha lol
Absolutely one of the greatest Judas Priest classics, it's glorious. I always love this mix most too, I adore at 3:16 they just completely cut out that awful trippy bridge from the album version and keep the kick-ass pace with that awesome solo. 🤘
I'm not sure I agree. The bridge ain't bad in my opinion, it kinda gives you that "calm before the storm", so-to-speak, before the solo turns it up to 11. It's like delayed satisfaction, just makes the climax of the song all that much better.
@@jason86768 I never liked it. Strange melody, very different sound from the rest of the song and super cheesy. The single edit is like Priest listened to the album version and decided that the bridge was an acceptable loss. It should be turbo by name, turbo by nature. My one criticism would be fading out the end quicker, I'd love a hybrid version where it's the whole album version with just that bridge chopped away. A spectacular song that doesn't need any goofiness slowing it down.
Been a fan since the first album...they rock like no other band. They have a deep dark soul from where their music comes from. I loved to drive down the road to this song...many times hitting 100 or more.
One of my favorites. Rob was my vocal coach - he never knew it - but learned how to sing by practicing to the tapes in my car! Damn, it was challenging.
One of my favorite songs by Judas Priest. "We hold each other closer as we shift to overdrive......everything goes rushing by with every nerve alive." I always wanted to put "Turbo Lover" on the rear spoiler or license plate of a bad ass car but sadly I never had a car worthy of it.
Depends how straight you are. Rob put a lot of gay love metaphors into his lyrics and this is one of them. Every nerve alive into overdrive, clearly its about making love, not about cars. Its not the car that need to be worthy, its the driver.
So... After buying my son his own electric guitar for his 14th birthday, he asked me to show him what I listened to when I was a teenager. This was among the first videos I showed him. He looked at the video, then at me, and I could almost hear him thinking, "So that's why Dad is so weird..."
Absolutely. We've had several sessions spending hours on youtube looking up classic hard rock and metal like Motorhead, AC/DC, early Whitesnake, Iron Maiden, Ozzy, etc... And of course... Black Sabbath!!! We've gotten strange looks when we go somewhere and he's wearing his AC/DC 'For Those About To Rock' t-shirt at 14 while I'm wearing an Avenged Sevenfold 'Nightmare' t-shirt at 42.
That was actually the original line. This whole song was a joke, but when people heard it for the first time they thought he was singing turbo lover. They were so embarrassed, they just went with it.
You won't hear me, But you'll feel me Without warning, somethings dawning, listen. Then within your senses, You'll know you're defenseless How your heart beats, when you run for cover You can't retreat I spy like no other. Then we race together. We can ride forever Wrapped in horsepower, driving into fury Changing gear I pull you tighter to me I'm your turbo lover Tell me there's no other I'm your turbo lover Better run for cover We hold each other closer, as we shift to overdrive And everything goes rushing by, with every nerve alive We move so fast it seems as though we've taken to the sky Love machines in harmony, we hear the engines cry. I'm your turbo lover Tell me there's no other I'm your turbo lover Better run for cover On and on we're charging to the place so many seek In perfect synchronicity of which so many speak We feel so close to heaven in this roaring heavy load And then in sheer abandonment, we shatter and explode. I'm your turbo lover Tell me there's no other I'm your turbo lover Better run for cover I'm your turbo lover Tell me there's no other I'm your turbo lover Better run for cover

Happy 70th Birthday to the undisputed greatest metal singer and front man of all time. The icon, the metal God. This was the first Judas Priest song I ever heard as a kid and although it’s not like a lot of their other stuff I still absolutely love it and I’ll always play it when having a few drinks.
@@EverywhereAndNowhere not a huge fan personally tbh. I like some of their older stuff but I don’t really like the newer larpy medieval stuff. Rob Halford is the best in my eyes by a long way, but it’s subjective I guess.
@@logansbt586 Agreed. It is subjective. I'm not really a Maiden fan either, but their musicianship is off the charts and Bruce's voice just fits. Personally, I always liked David Coverdale because he has that bluesy style.
The bass of this song is so simple yet so addictive... Dunno if it makes sense but the bass work steals the show here lol You need to listen it really loud and with proper speakers to appreciate it : P

Then we race together, we can ride forever
Wrapped in horsepower, driving into fury
Changing gear, I pull you tighter to me
I'm your turbo lover
Tell me there's no other
I'm your turbo lover
Better run for cover
We hold each other closer, as we shift to overdrive
And everything goes rushing by, with every nerve alive
We move so fast it seems as though we've taken to the sky
Love machines in harmony, we hear the engines cry
I'm your turbo lover
Tell me there's no other
I'm your turbo lover
Better run for cover
On and on we're charging to the place so many seek
In perfect synchronicity of which so many speak
We feel so close to heaven in this roaring heavy load
And then in sheer abandonment, we shatter and explode
I'm your turbo lover
Tell me there's no other
I'm your turbo lover
Better run for cover
I'm your turbo lover
Tell me there's no other
I'm your turbo lover
Better run for cover
Thanks you

As a 60-something: this is badass!
I just discovered this song and it's a masterpiece! 🎶
I’ve been listening to Priest since the mid 80’s as a Teenager. Turbo Lover is probably my favorite song from them. And they had a lot of great tunes!
I've been listening as well, since they came out
Saw them play at a college , @York, Pa. British steel tour '83 ,seen them 5-6 times over the years .this is one of their heaviest sogs .
@@blainerudy2255That’s awesome! It has its own unique sound.
Rob Halford's dance on this video is priceless! Only a real Turbo Lover could do something like that. 😄👍
haha damn right!
Such a Priest classic! Guaranteed to boost your mood by 110%
I just saw Judas Priest and Metallica at louder than life in September. I was so excited to finally get to see JP live, one of the greatest bands of all time no doubt
almost 36 years past away but this incredible sound is timeless...
"He was my bness pal, with the skelter."
What legend in time makes you a real God, and a Legend in Time."
its funny cuz it's one of their weakest songs and its still pretty good
@@JacobsKrąnųg Tell me what's weak about this song? If you're doing what he sings about in this song while you listen to it it's very powerful.
This is the kind of song that draws you into the point you can't escape. You're locked in for the entire ride, and when it ends, it leaves you wanting more!! Love it!
A true clasdic heavy metal song by one of the best bands on this planet.
Turbo was an underrated album in my opinion. It definitely had some awesome tracks. (Locked In was my favorite)
I really liked turbo even gave my mom the nicname turbo
James Ipock Out In The Cold, Hot For Love and Reckless were great too
Complete album rocks
fuk ya man , my buddy got 2 cassettes for xmas and gave me one
Turbo lover is one of my favorite song
Probably the most modern sounding metal album ever.
lol, no
I'm your Turbo lover! Long live Judas Priest! ♠️🤘
Everytime I hear @3:49, the guitar, and Rob singing "synchronicity" it just goes so well together. I almost think it was accidental.
80's nostalgia at its finest! This song still sounds great heading into 2020!
Try re-listening to Screaming for Vengeance. 😁👍
Soon 2025. Still awesome!
always nice to see people discover a classic song after it gets used in a game or TV show or whatever.
this song is great, cheesy video and all. it's perfect.
JUDAS PRIEST IS LIKE NO OTHER 🔥HIS VOICE IS LIKE NO OTHER 💥ROCK N ROLL TO ITS FULLEST 🌪️🌪️🌪️🌪️🌪️🌪️🌪️🌪️🌪️🌪️
Yes❤❤
Rob Halford was an opera singer earlier in life. According to Rolling Stone many years ago. Makes sense. One of the best rock vocalists around in my opinion! 🇨🇦🖖🏻🇨🇦
This is the best Judas Priest song I ever heard in my entire life

I absolutely love Glen's 'rocking' solos where he rocks between the two notes like in this song. His style is just so wholesome!
I love this song. All magic of 80's on one song.
Really the best heavy metal Band!! Judas Priest is already in my DNA 🤘🤘🤘this song is a kind of elixir for mental health 😁😁👍 can you believe It.....
This song, no matter the year, decade, or century, will get old
Hasn't thus far, chummy
Heard this song on satellite radio yesterday afternoon. Started relating the lyrics to riding my motorcycles. I got all hyper and started crying happy tears. This song rocks.
Its just a Lifetime
TURBO KOCHANEK..
Otulony mocą koni, doprowadza mnie do furii
Zmieniając bieg przyciągam cię bliżej do mnie
Jestem twoim turbo kochankiem
Powiedz mi że nie ma żadnego innego
Jestem twoim turbo kochankiem
Lepiej uciekaj by się ukryć
I wszystko przyspiesza, żyjąc każdym nerwem
Jestem twoim turbo kochankiem
Powiedz mi że nie ma żadnego innego
Jestem twoim turbo kochankiem
Lepiej uciekaj by się ukryć
Jestem twoim turbo kochankiem
Powiedz mi że nie ma żadnego innego
Jestem twoim turbo kochankiem
Lepiej uciekaj by się ukryć
Jestem twoim turbo kochankiem
Powiedz mi że nie ma żadnego innego
Jestem twoim turbo kochankiem

A spectacular song that doesn't need any goofiness slowing it down.
that solo at 3:15 always gives me goosebumps
53 years of age still heavy metal makes my hurt roaring like a beast.
haha old
Been a fan since the first album...they rock like no other band. They have a deep dark soul from where their music comes from. I loved to drive down the road to this song...many times hitting 100 or more.
Sim senhor
One of my favorites. Rob was my vocal coach - he never knew it - but learned how to sing by
practicing to the tapes in my car! Damn, it was challenging.
One of my favorite songs by Judas Priest. "We hold each other closer as we shift to overdrive......everything goes rushing by with every nerve alive."
I always wanted to put "Turbo Lover" on the rear spoiler or license plate of a bad ass car but sadly I never had a car worthy of it.
Tack it onto your raggedy ass beater and make it ironic
You need a DeLorian.
@@louistournas120
It's true. I've been saying this for years. 🤣
It's a damn good lyric in'nt ? Halford is a very good lyricist. 🎼🤟
Depends how straight you are. Rob put a lot of gay love metaphors into his lyrics and this is one of them. Every nerve alive into overdrive, clearly its about making love, not about cars. Its not the car that need to be worthy, its the driver.
Watch the music video multiple times and you’ll see this video is perfect for the song!. What did you expect, it’s the eighties baby!! 🤘🎸
One of the best heavy metal bands of all time imo
Best.
Halford, the best rock vocalist 'ever' when belting out those words that end with 'er'.
So... After buying my son his own electric guitar for his 14th birthday, he asked me to show him what I listened to when I was a teenager. This was among the first videos I showed him. He looked at the video, then at me, and I could almost hear him thinking, "So that's why Dad is so weird..."
show him some classics, show him some old megadeth and older priest
Absolutely. We've had several sessions spending hours on youtube looking up classic hard rock and metal like Motorhead, AC/DC, early Whitesnake, Iron Maiden, Ozzy, etc... And of course... Black Sabbath!!! We've gotten strange looks when we go somewhere and he's wearing his AC/DC 'For Those About To Rock' t-shirt at 14 while I'm wearing an Avenged Sevenfold 'Nightmare' t-shirt at 42.
teaching the kid right show him dreamer deceiver by judas priest or diamonds and rust i think he'd like those
give him some zz top
TheCatfeeesh He has been a ZZ Top fan for a couple years already.
I heard this one when I was 18 and now I am over 50… I still love this one…
We about the same age +/-, what i remember the most from this era was Locked In.
@@pflaffik Also a fantastic song. And hilarious video.
Dr Z brought this LP home with him from a biz trip to Canada where he heard it on MTV in his hotel room back in '86. I was 33. Got us into metal.
Not a typical headbanging song but it always makes me headbang
Yes I agree with you on that long live the rock n roll keep on rocking

Every time I hear this I hear him say, "'I'm your terrible lover" and it cracks me up every time.
That was actually the original line. This whole song was a joke, but when people heard it for the first time they thought he was singing turbo lover. They were so embarrassed, they just went with it.
What a voice Rob has! KILLER! 🤘

ROB'S a TUBESTEAK LOVER!! HE WANTS TO PORK YOU, BROTHER!!!!
Rob Halford is one of the all time most incredible vocalists to ever walk the earth. I must admit, this album was from a weird era of metal. That said, its catchy AF and im a JP fan so here i am 😂
Long live the Metal God, Rob Halford, and may he rock on forever!
I don't know if I'd say he's the greatest metal singer. What about Bruce Dickinson?
@@EverywhereAndNowhere not a huge fan personally tbh. I like some of their older stuff but I don’t really like the newer larpy medieval stuff. Rob Halford is the best in my eyes by a long way, but it’s subjective I guess.
@@logansbt586 Agreed. It is subjective. I'm not really a Maiden fan either, but their musicianship is off the charts and Bruce's voice just fits. Personally, I always liked David Coverdale because he has that bluesy style.
I remember as a kid this video was at the time pretty awesome. I see it now and say real '80s. Song still kicks ass tho
+Ronald Bread ITS A FUCKING HORRIBLE ANEMIC SONG

The bass of this song is so simple yet so addictive... Dunno if it makes sense but the bass work steals the show here lol
You need to listen it really loud and with proper speakers to appreciate it : P
Lol funny how it sounds like Robs singing "I'm your tub of blubber better run for cover. Yep still a great fan here in 2024 and Judas Priest never lets their fans down they are still writing music and touring !!!
😂❤ funny
Now it is stuck in my head forever - thx
This song improves your video game game by 10000%
People always give Priest shit for this album, but ive seen them live 3 times and there's no other song that gets the crowd going like this song. not even close
Jason X It is the audience participation song. Like Rammetein and Du Hast or Maiden and Run to the hills. Everybody knows what their part is and performs it and leaves happy.
That’s because “Turbo” is a godawful album, but “Turbo Lover” isn’t all that bad of a song. It’s definitely better played live, though.
Judas o melhor dos heavys metal.🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
