Appreciate the honesty by showing your down swings. Makes the vlog more relatable as we all experience them and is part of the game. Best of luck in future games
Had to rewind on the aces flopping an overpair joke a couple times. Your mix of humor and poker analysis even makes my wife who doesn't even play chuckle. Bravo and thanks for the more frequent vlogs.
Literally just finished the final exam of my college career, and it was so extremely stressful. It's is such a nice relief to see this video on my feed so I can relax. Love the stuff Brad. Keep it up
The best thing to do when stressed is to go play poker, preferably drunk. If you follow my advice, let me know what poker table you're at so I can congratulate you
Dude. I’ve never been more excited for the next few vlogs coming out. The way you announced it. I can’t wait. Like you said, you can’t run well all the time. We all root for you every vlog. Thanks for what you do, brother!
I greatly appreciate the fact that you don’t just show the wins. Everyone loves to watch the pros raking in big bucks on TV, and that fills the heads of starry-eyed dreamers that “hey, I can make easy money too.” Getting this glimpse into what life is really like for a grinding pro, and seeing that it’s not all sunshine and rainbows even for disciplined pros who truly understand the game, is a welcome dose of reality. I wish you the best.
Thanks Brad for being so candid and transparent, I don't play on your level or with the same stakes but lost four-hundred and eighty dollars in one hand last Saturday night at my local casino and it literally felt like I got punched in the gut. I'm not saying I'm happy you had a bad session, but for what it's worth I'm glad you shared it as it has made me feel better about how as players we can make what we think are the correct moves and still get soul crushed.
It is IMPERATIVE that you do not play with scared money. You lost 480 in chips, not $$$. You sit down at a table to play a game. In order to play that game, you must pay an entry fee. That money is GONE!!!!!! Now you are just playing a game, play it to the best of your ability.
Always awesome content Brad Owen. Best vlog out there and love watching you play. Gotta get in the stream games more often for us!!! Thx for all you do and keep running good. LFG
Man it's been wild watching you over these years. I haven't played in years, too many bills and a kid. But I am about to be in a spot where I will feel comfortable playing again. You're gonna be in the back of my head, I can already see it lol
I’ve been watching you for about 2 years now, and I think it’s my first comment. You inspired me to start playing again during COVID. You are my favorite poker vlogger and it’s not just because we are from the same area. Keep up the amazing work you do with the VLOG!
Ha, as it turns out Brad would’ve been better off if he actually DID flip his hand over with the first hand AA. But that’s results oriented of course, and it could’ve actually led to him playing poorly or tilting if he had done that. Can’t win them all, I appreciate the honesty, we all have bad sessions from time to time.
This is great. Brad does a awesome job of dumbing it down for want to be poker stars like me. I’m learning so much, I love how he breaks down the hands and he thought process threw the hands. You are doing a great service to the game of poker. I thank you. Great job
Win or lose, it's inspiring to see you LIVE your life doing what you love and are good at. It takes a lotta heart to battle the downswings, but that's poker...and life. You are winning. Thank you for the vlog!
Hey Brad great video, I feel better about my 4.1k loss last night at Parx 10/10NL after watching this. I hope to see you slay those Texans soon - good luck!
Such an undervalued aspect of playing the game is knowing when to draw the line and accept a loss for a session. The will to battle on and fight sometimes needs to be tamed when the cards refuse to cooperate. Over the long term, better to book an L that you can make up for in the next session or two rather than making that L even bigger with desperate plays. Your line at the end of the video: “poker is just one long session” is a line I’ve told my friends time and again when they’ve dug themselves into a hole during a session that isn’t going their way. Once again, thanks for sharing your journey Brad, its great to be able to come along for this amazing ride. Looking forward to the next video.
I came to Vegas this weekend to spend some time with my father whose health is failing. I was able to drag him to the Santa Fe for what used to be his daily 1/2 no limit game. I haven't played in close to 18 months and thanks to watching your videos I played better than I have ever played cashing out up $675. Position, aggression, pot control, value betting and card removal knowledge was all in use and benefitted me greatly. Thanks Brad!!!!
I remember watching your vlogs when you had under 20k subscribers and here you are at 603k..not surprised as you have been amazing since the beginning! Congrats and keep up the great work..hope i get to play with you someday..that would be a dream come true!
Really enjoying the time clock in the corner and the graphs at the end of this video. You can tell that a lot of hard work is being put in! Such an awesome episode! Thanks for uploading 2 this week Brad! You’re the man!
Great stuff as always Brad, that seemed like a pretty tough session always being up against the nuts! glad to hear though that you take the step back and view your overall progress! keep it up!
Hey thank you so much for the free subscription … definitely great and I’m sold and believe I’m gonna improve my game. Also thank you for your content and everything you do for the poker community
One of my life bucket list items is to play with you and shake your hand. Thanks for what you do and I so appreciate your honesty with your videos. Thank you. In a downswing myself, it helps to see that you have them too. Sorry for the loss but glad to hear you crush it. On my way to see your next video.
I heard a story about a pro who went on a 6 month downswing. He considered quitting the game but barreled through it. It can happen to anyone. I'm on one myself, which has lasted about 3 months. It is crazy and makes you question your sanity sometimes. Glad to hear your losing streak was short lived!
I will stick with my revenge range PFR chart Brad. It has kept me in the red for 20+ Years! IN all seriousness, thanks for the videos, I am not a winning player and no longer can afford to chase my dollars. So I enjoy winning vicariously thru you. Gambling ruined my life, so its fun to see someone like you succeeding.
I have a lot of respect for people who have enough awareness to leave the game when it's no longer a net positive in their lives. I'm glad to be filling the void for you. Thanks for watching and for commenting.
Been here from when u had under 5k followers and Neeme was the G.O.A.T. hes still huge but u took over the game. Much props, shows hard work and being a good dude can win in life! Great to see the journey unfold. GL in the streets. 👍
Very admirable to not only vlog losing sessions but to even show over 600k subscribers a multi session, several thousand dollar losing streak. I feel like most poker entertainers will only post big wins and sure that's fun to watch but can be a bit discouraging, especially to newer players as it sets unrealistic expectations. This is a great view into what it's really like to play competitively day to day and I personally love being along for the ride. Your highest highs far outweigh your lowest lows and its been very inspiring to watch your growth as a player and a content creator. Keep up the great work Brad!
Brad , going to be in Vegas 6/12-6/14. Love to play with you while there. 5-10 is a one level up from my normal but would be happy to play it if you’re there.
@@BradOwenPoker I met Andrew at the Aria last time I was there. Hoping to meet you one day. I’ve been watching your UA-cam channel since about The 20th episode.
I know it doesn't feel good for you but seeing the specifics of your downswing is so encouraging. You can do things pretty well, and be a winning player, and still have days, weeks, and months that make you feel like an absolute buffoon. I won't give up if you don't.
Thank you Brad for all your content and being honest about every session you play. You have help my game tremendously keep up the good work and the vlogs coming! Hopefully you will get on a big upswing!
Another great informative video! Just a question, I’m curious to know how you remember all the bet sizes, starting stacks, cards, etc. Are you recording these details down constantly during the game on paper or are you voice recording yourself? Im thinking a lot of work goes into these videos and you make it look super effortless! Kudos to you, sir!
Just speculating but i’m pretty sure Brad writes notes down in his phone as soon as a hand that makes the vlog concludes while the action is still fresh in his mind. Then reviews the notes and does the voice over after editing
Love the transparency on your poker journey…like In day trading, the key is to limit losses. Do you have a max loss limit in your mind when you sit down? Thank you for all the great content..👍
Thank God for that last comment about the recent session in Texas man. It’s painful to watch some of these vlogs where things aren’t going well. You do such a great job with these videos that I often feel a little like I’m the one losing the money after a tragic run! lol, well maybe not really but I’m sure we all feel for you and can somewhat relate. One last thought, a good friend of mine, a life long well known and respected pro passed down a sound bit of advice to me that he was given on the way up. Not sure how useful it could be for you but it’s benefited me to keep it in the back of my mind many times at the table. He said “A bet saved is a bet earned!”
Hello. I wondered, what do you keep in your backpack going into and out of casinos? I would assume cash so you don't have to pull fist-fulls of Benjamin's out of your pockets to buy in. What else?
Hey Brad, I should be heading to the HR this Thursday. I know you have a game after 5pm but do you know how the HR is early in the day? I plan on playing $1/$2. Thanks for any advice, love your content, hope to see you there.
Hey, wanted to say thanks for allowing me to book my biggest win ever. I would have never been comfortable at the Bellagio 5/10 until watching you (and Neeme) playing 4 years of sessions there. Almost felt like i belonged there except for the 3 European pros at the table making perfect plays. Lol
Dude, thats sweet! I had to pause the video to say thanks for the free 3 day pass! I'm heading to the tables tonight for the first time since the pandemic in March 2020. Nervous? Not really, I set a super strict budget for my first time back. All debit and credit cards are staying home just in case I've lost my ability to read a table and recognize that I am the fish 🐟 🙃 The website will be a great way to refresh the mind before I head out!
Did I mention how great the decision to get an editor was? The increased frequency of videos is amazing, love it!!
@Xenia © Nice promotion of stolen content :D
Completely agree
Yeah but get rid of the garageband sample music in the background
The clock in the top right is a great addition as well.
