Simon, it's awesome to watch your videos, specially this one, cause I have the same filmmaker background story as you.
I have started just playing around with an old VHS camera that my grandma was going to give away, my equipment and my skills improved by time, and through those 10 years of making films and learning more about them that I passed nowadays I'm also a freelance filmmaker to institutional, commercial and documentary videos.
It's nice to meet someone who lives in another part of the world that experienced the filmmaking progress as I did.
    Keep doing this amazing job!

Simon Cade would definitely grow to a proper movie maker. No doubt, brilliant start from 2010. Everything starts with an simple idea. Shame that I only started 4 years later than Simon. seems Simon is already ahead from me, I cannot give up.
Screw Politics, screw Maths, screw Science, screw any courses that I don't like. Filmmaking is life. I am going to develop. I love filmmaking, cannot let my teenage emotion get in the way, reduce masterbation, increase the time spending in learning filmmaking! Oh yeah

I was in the same thought process last year until i watched a video called “learn more than film” it really opened my eyes and they were right. If you want to make good narrative films, what good is it to just know angles and the technicalities if you cant tell a story which is essentially what filmmaking is. Trust me, the seemingly pointless stuff like history, politics and maths will help you a tonne and what to pick for a film idea! Have a nice day

The first time I tried to make a movie was with my friends at 10 years old. It was supposed to be a found fotage horror movie in a corn field. I had my Sony camcorder and we spent hours in that field goofing around just to notice later on that I was pressing the record button wrong and we had actually not recorded any of the scenes 😂. I was pressing stop when it was actually play so we had just filmed ourselves talking about how to set up. Needles to say my friends where pretty pissed at me and I stopped makind movies after that 😅.
Kinda still like the premise though 😆
