I want Terry's Neopolitan's back. Then again, I want Terry's, Rowntrees and all the rest back as independent British companies, so we can once again enjoy the sweet treats we all miss.
I really wish that Cadbury’s would bring Icebreaker back! It was wrapped in a metallic-looking light blue paper and the chocolate had shards of mint in it - delicious!
Does *anyone* recall the UK refridgerated desserts approx 1995-2000 with the tagline "They're squidgy and they live in the fridge"? They were available in chocolate, banana and strawberry flavours, shaped like little inverted bowls and IIRC consistency wise they were a bit like firm jelly mousse. Have had zero luck finding any info online, but have remembered them and that tagline for decades.
What have the manufacturers goot against GB, if they still sell them elsewhere but have stopped them here. I do not understand why Cadbury's sold out to Kraft, it was not exactly ''ailing'' previously, it was thriving and could easily have survived and indeed thrived as an independent British company. Another thing I remember is the Terry's Waifa, best described as an upmarket KitKat. I eat very few sweets now, but still consider it a shame that many of my childhood treats are either discontinued or changed beyond recognition. Also individual ice cream bars which were available in large or small sizes. The smaller size was always sold in a cornet, but the larger size there was a choice of cornet or wafers. For the most part, children prefered cornets and adults prefered wafers, but there were exceptions in both.
All chocolate bars were larger back then than they are now even a standard Mars bar is about a third smaller in size to what it used to be and they are now around the size of what was then.
Anyone remember Apple Jack and Postman Pat sweets? They were penny sweets and had a wrapper on them. Can still get Black Jacks and Fruit Salads. We need to get a campaign started to get Bassetts to make them again.
I distinctly remember corn pops being so sweet they'd make me sick, so I'd eat them to get days off school & chill playing SNES watching my WWF videos 😂

Tudor crisps......the pickled onion and tomato ones especially were the best! What happened to them? And does anyone remember KP had hedgehog flavoured ones too? Onken Fru fo, I loved those! Especially the little from age frais filled chocolates. I still have an Angel Christmas tree ornament I got in a box of those.

It was originally Snickers everywhere except for the UK and Ireland, where it was branded Marathon, presumably because “Snickers” was thought to sound too similar to the word “knickers”. It would have been like trying to market a chocolate bar in the US called “Spanties”…..
I remember funny feet, they never looked that convincing and was always disappointed when taking the wrapper off. Also, I remember Nutty Bar! It was fudge rolled in peanuts, that was one of my favourites and so was Milk Tray bar, now that was a proper treat!
I miss Ricicles so much! I even liked the marshmallow version. Also loved Cadbury Astros. Time out are still available but in multi packs of single finger and don’t have flake in the middle, they’re rubbish now. I’ve been looking for an advert from about 1996, it’s for a Cadbury product called something like Snackos and were bags of small biscuit rings coated in chocolate. The slogan was ‘a snack in the mouth’
Quatro drink. Miles ahead of Lilt and probably the best fizzy drink going (at that time). Decent ad too. Toffos, highland chew bar, Wham bar, Pacers. There was also a bar a bit like a pacer but can't remember the name of it.
You can still source Cadburys Astros online. I believe they're sold in South Africa only. So you have to pay to ferry them over and the usual inflated price per box. Still a nostalgia bullet though, I sometimes get them as a surprise birthday present as I keep forgetting they're still available.
Oh god I not only remember some of these products, I can remember the exact words. I was able to predict what most of the ads were going to say. I remember the Banana bubbles song, I've had that in my head for 20 odd years.
