We make donuts blender with Simon Thommes procedural node setup showing 1-year progress with free 3d materials and shaders. Quick and easy we use lazy tutorial by Blender Guru to create Andrew Price Chair Tutorial Couch Series, Kitchen and cool Lighting in Octane an Cycles Eevee renders. Also, secret ingredient to photorealism included in the recipe. Ryan King art.
me, without a GPU I can render with: hmm, yes, interesting.
Edge dirt dosent work o tried everything
so good!
Hi. I just upgraded my computer and installed Blender 4.2. When I append the file, I don't get an option for Node Tree.
I fixed the edge node issue - if its not working for you double click on the node and find the red undefined node in the logic for that node. Delete it and reconnect the color values. That allowed it to work for me.
Thank you!
i didnt get the blend file shown on screen just a preview and an asset folder
Great stuff instant subscribe...
Thank you for the tutorial! I'm stuck at the edge dirt section. When I apply that node, it makes my whole model white rather than just the edges.. Any idea how to fix that?
Great nodes! Any word on how to use the FFX Light and the FFX Panels 1 &2?!? I'm not sure where these plug in at.
Those are just fun little bonuses i threw in cause i thought they were cool! Any way that makes something you like is a good use🤷♂️
It seems like the node group only influences the black portion of the musgrave texture. Is there anyway to control what color is in the white section? The dark gray texture has bright white spots and I'd like to make the highlights a darker color. But all in all, this is an INCREDIBLE plugin. Thanks Chris!
This has changed literally everything about my model for the better, I was really worried about highlighting my details and it looks so mcuh better not even halfway through. thanks!
Sad that this is about Cycles. But, thanks for work and sharing. I
There's always the option to bake the textures and render the animation or still with Eevee.
The crevace dirt should all work with eevee! Just the edge-stuff is Cycles-only, since they require a path-tracing feature.
This tutorial is awesome! Though I'm having a similar problem as others where the edge dirt turns the whole model white. My nodes are setup just like yours, cant really figure it out.
That's very strange! People keep reporting it but I don't know where it comes from. Are you using Cycles?
Make sure your render engine is set to cycles in the render properties tab for your project
Great tutorial - How do you make panels on a sci-fi ship?
Good question! I usually don't do any of the modeling you see so I don't feel like I'm very qualified to answer that.
I'll ping my modeler friends who do make these models and maybe I'll get a video out on it ;)
Random flow is fantastic for creating panels, cables, pipes etc on spaceship style stuff
@@ChristopherFraserVFX I think you can do it procedurally if you look at the video on UA-cam by searching for 'EASY! Sci fi Hull - Procedural texture in Blender'
@@ChristopherFraserVFX This would be really great! I think there are also methods to scatter greebles with geonodes on a target surface (sapceship). Really would love to see the modeling process behind this ship!!
@@zofo264 just look up "greebles" and "kit bashing" +blender
There are tonnes of videos out there showing how to make spaceships in blender and some geo node tutorials to create something like this
Great nodes setup, thanks! For any folks rendering with "FFX Crevice Dirt" and a Volumetric cube, I recommend tabbing into the crevice node group, and ticking "Only Local" on the Ambient Occlusion node. At least at my scales (volume cube 2m), the AO was adding dirt all over the whole model, from the Volume cube and ruining the effect.
Christopher is this tool different from the Space Opera pack I just purchased?
It's another download that's totally free! It pairs really well with Space Opera Textures in my opinion.
You have some great tutorials on texturing! subbed
Thanks! 😄
Hi, I had purchased the textures on fraserfx a year or so ago, I recently got a new PC and had completely forgotten to transfer those textures to my hard drive. Were the textures sent in an email after purchase, or on an account on the website? I looked again, there's no account sign in as far as I can see. It makes me wonder how I would access it again if I wanted to download them again in the future. Thanks!
Hi! You should have received an email with a download link.
If you didn't, you can email help@fraserfx.com and I will help you get a new download link
@@ChristopherFraserVFX Hello, I just realized I purchased them on the Blender Market! Haha, sorry for the trouble!
@MSB_003 just saw this! Was waiting for your email back thinking you'd given up.
I'm glad you figured it out!!
Honestly, I'm blown away by this wonderful node set up! Great video!
thanks bro
Amazing . Just discovered your channel . This nodes are superb ❤️❤️❤️
Couldn't get the edge dirt to work on my own ship model. Not sure if because it was too low poly?
This is really what I needed, this is amazing. Thank you so much!
I downloaded the Sci-Fi Texture Tools for Blender, but there is no node tree folder to select
I'm building a ship-model right now which is i have no idea how to texture because it's getting so complex, this will certainly help, great results!
Bro, this sh!t to good to be free... THANK YOU so much for sharing.
I learned a few things on this and got some new materials to work with. I'm even more powerful now. Ha. Thats a good way to start the day
This is awesome. I have an obsession with spaceship textures. Not sure why. I need therapy. 😂
the crevacy didnt work to me, what can i do to make it work please?
Forget about it, i'm just dumb, was rendering whit eevee. Awesome Tutorial
You're not dumb, this exact kind of thing happens to everyone
So glad you got it working!
Could you upload this to something like Google Drive? ( Shared with link ) So we do not have to create an account or give billing information etc,
No
No billing information or account is required anyway :)
thank you so much!
of course the textures arent free
Noise textures can be a suitable substitute! I'd suggest musgrave. Then there are plenty of free grunge textures online if you want scratches
@ChristopherFraserVFX thank you for the idea sir.
Thx! Very nice!
This is gorgeous! Thank you so much.
where is the blend file? Is it the $34 model?...
Check first link in the description!
Great video!
in octane blender , there is a dirt node that does that , what are they waiting for to put that for cycles too
I just did ;)
Thanks!👍
Wheres the nodetree file located?
Inside the .blend file when you append or link it.
BRO pls do a sale for the textures, im from middle east, too expensive to buy.
such a scam... "free" blend file.. but requests your credit card info to get it.. hard no.
The website should never actually prompt you to enter payment information if you're only downloading one of the free items.
Also, the store is run through a third party called Shopify, they wouldn't allow a store to charge for a cart you see as being free.
Hope this helps. Have a good one!
@@ChristopherFraserVFX I was not able to download because I didn't fill out card information. should I get a screenshot and get it to you some how? Seems you disbelieve me.
@@ChristopherFraserVFX Sent you an email to the email you have listed on your about section.
I will look into it immediately!
In the meantime, I will send you a download link later today for the texture tools.
To be clear for anyone in the future who finds this thread, the website has not asked for any information (like credit card info) that would lead to Shop Pay being able to charge the user (e.g. card info).
Billing information is not payment information, it's your address, which Shopify requires. I cannot turn it off.
Perfection, just amazing. Little word for Esburito who shared the video and made me discover your amazing work. Thank you for this video Chris ! 🤍
Esburito's my man! Glad to hear you liked the tutorial
Liked ? What an euphemism, it's the solution to my deepest, well one would say hate, another would say fear, of UVs and actual textures.
So thank you for doing this tutorial and video. @@ChristopherFraserVFX
