It's hard to believe this song is 40 years old, yet here I am....40 years later listening to it like it just came out today.

I used to listen to this years ago and then I stopped hearing it and then recently I’ve wanted to hear it but could not remember the name of it!!! So I googled a few words from it and this cake up Hazard by Richard Marx I thought no way that’s about a river but I took a chance and I am so very glad I did !! So good to hear this haunting song of love again ❤️

I was never a big fan of Richard Marx but this song always resonated with me. It's just a great song. And this is coming from a guy that hates most popular music and contemporary artists.
this was my fiancees song. He played this and took my hand. I could not remenber name until exactly ten years after we met. I was in summercottage in lovely white finnish summer and radio played this. I was instantly in google. He died accidentally in summer 2009. So thanks for sharing this.

Decades after I first heard this song on the radio, I still think the character singing is innocent; someone else murdered Mary (wouldn't be surprised if it was the sheriff himself, the "corrupt small town sheriff" is an old, old trope) and the singer is being framed for it because he makes a convenient scapegoat... And my mind is not going to change. :)
