I am a senior van lady from southern Alberta who is just starting at the age of 74 to trip around in a no build van. The Island is my favorite place and I hope to get there next spring. Frank on the beach with his little lip stuck was so cute. What an awesome day going to the farm stands. Hanging with a good friend and Frank getting the most delicious food. The honor system at those stands was just incredible. I haven't ever seen that being from NashvilleTn. The only place I've ever seen alot of farm stands was in the Pacific North West,( Oregon coast and Washington coast.) Wishing you good health and happiness and sending you and Frank much love.

There's a trick to grilling corn to keep it moist. Strip down the husk, remove floss, put the husk back on & tie with string. Soak in water prior to putting on the grill.
Great farm-to-van stand hop! I nearly fell over when I saw the cost of garlic and carrots there! Garlic is usually less than 1 USD here and sometimes 2 bulbs for 1 USD. I am lucky to live in a breadbasket area. At that price it would be worth keeping a plant pot in your van for garlic--they grow so fast and easy, 6 inches apart, like a weed. Plant a few cloves and have garlic for the rest of your life for free, keep it going. Just a thought. I've seen a couple of builds with "pocket herb gardens" hanging in the door and a pot or two for veggies. We do organic gardening but only for ourselves.

One thing you can do to speed grill cooking is to place a foil cover over your grill top. Seal it a bit so the heat is contained and you have an oven effect. Just like foil packet cooking over a campfire.
We just got back from a 2 week camping adventure on Vancouver island, Denman Island and Hornby Island. I thought about you and Flossy a lot, and your adventures in this area. I love watching both of your channels. Also enjoyed a lot of the local produce and fish from farmers and vendors around the islands. OMG I must do a farm stand tour when I make it up there next summer! I use smoking chips often on my grill. The basic idea is to use the steamy smoke from the chips to flavor what's on the grill. I make a little soap dish size bowl out of foil and put the wet chips in it just on the edge of the fire. Then cover the food as it cooks so the steamy smoke from the chips envelops your food. It actually doesn't take more than a handful of chips to do a grill full of food. So glad you and Flossy are hanging out, she is such a good friend to be with!

This was the content I needed today! 💚💜 Let's be real: I need Frank, West Coast serenity and scenery every day. I enjoy seeing your adventures with Flossy. It's uplifting to see such a genuine friendship, kindness, support and just enjoying each other's company. It reminds me of my bestie. I haven't been able to travel to the West Coast (at least the Island) since 2014 and I miss it dearly. Those farm stands look amazing! As for the hickory chips, yes you need to soak them first so they smoke vs burn in the coals. You can make a little tray out of foil and put a few chips in and just keep replenishing them as needed. Eta: I realize you were in the Gulf Islands with Flossie, but I enjoy footage of all the islands in the area!

17:11 mark: One of my first ever "sleep in my car" experiences was in the parking area up at that mountain viewpoint, because I wanted to photograph sunset & dusk, and then dawn and sunrise the next morning. It was so peaceful and fun, and the boats in the bay below were so tiny. Thanks for bringing back that memory for me :)

I love all the roadside stands. They were always one of my favourite stops on holidays growing up. Okanagan fruit and veg. APPLE CIDER! I’ve heard people describe roadside as awesome tasting but the reality is…that’s what our food is supposed to taste like. Roast or grilled veggies are my favourite way to cook them. Olive oil, seasoning and presto…perfection. Have you tried them with a black garlic sauce. TO DIE FOR! Hug Frank for me. Cheers from Vancouver eh!

Do you have cool parking spot on the island , you can land at after your trips. If you don't you should rent one it's a good idea. You seem like hippy or earthy islander or whatever the name is now ! Franks getting old to be dirt bagging its maybe time to retire him to your moms dad's property .
