Hi, I believe that the "velen" argument has more to do with the games pacing rather than player stupidity. As someone who initially didn't like the game, it wasn't until I powered through to the end of the Bloody Baron questline (at the behest of a friend) that the game finally "clicked" for me and I chose to continue my playthrough. Phantom Liberty, on the other hand, works so well because of it pacing. In the first hour of gameplay you know exactly what to expect from the rest of the expansion. The "White Orchard" section of the Witcher 3 was a good tutorial, yes, but it ruined the pacing. If "Velen" happened sooner, player retension no doubt would've increased. But that's just my interpretation of the matter
That's exactly what they're gonna do, the focus is gonna be their modern audience. So the lore and original source material are tossed aside for culture war nonsense. Kind of like ubisoft with ac shadows.
If you look the coin in its entirety, it depicts a simultaneous double eclipses event & rock parts seems to be an entrance to a very big cave. My guess would be there is some truth to the actual curse of the black sun but it's very old misinterpreted legend of a different civilization. Based on IRL science, although very very rare. double eclipse event can actually happen in the same place.
It's cool the witcher 4 is in development. But I hope they include armor sets from other witcher schools like in number 3. If so I'm gonna be using the school of the bear I love that one alot.
thanks, I'm bad with spelling, and i tried those armor sets, and I don't like them. I personally think the bear armor set is the best, and I personally think it looks the best
@Captain.B.Fang572 Those armours are by far the best. Griffin is a balanced between sword and magic while Feline is built for agility and speed. Urine is only good for heavily builds. And again, it's favourite.
@Captain.B.Fang572 And the Ursine looks like shit. Its too long and in any real battle scenario you could trip on it and fall. Then you're dead. Terrible design.
For Sirius it would be cool to have a coop game during the hay day or witchers where ur character and other players go on large scale quests/contracts that can’t normally be done by one Witcher.
They could do another conjunction event have more monsters pour into the world thus more witchers are made. Simply have a a create your own witcher thing, that way everyone is happy.
Bravo sir , I love this idea if we are to create our own Witcher at the start of game however these games are generally character driven with deep lore for each so I doubt a quick bio’ would be sufficient for a great story in a game like this. 👍
@@wowzzz402 100% agree, TBH As a fan of all the books and all the games for many years before the Northern Kingdoms became famous thanks to W3 Wild Hunt. I would love it if CDPR were given the chance to create another open ended story with Geralt as main character. Witchers live for hundreds of years after all so I'd like to see their writers take some liberties and possibly write another saga at a later stage in the witchers life. Thoughts?
Brother, I'm more interested in the inscription. It looks like Elder Futhark runes. I tried to translate the ones visible and it looks like the end of the inscription says: "... remains the same" What remanins the same? Guess we'll have to wait for the reveal of the other side of the coin.
Almost looks like a cave or sea-cave opening. I love your conjunction theory though. It would be cool as hell to deal with the unseen elder. I'm also hoping Gaunter is back in some form
I think it's interesting that the coin itself is being eclipsed as well as there being another eclipse within the coin. Definitely plays into the "Conjunction of the Spheres" theory, but makes me wonder why such an event is being depicted in a coin to begin with
Gives us the Northern Realms! Not just Velen, and a tip of Redania. I want to be able to walk from Lan Exeter to Kaer Morhen, from Kaer Morhen to Beauclair (I know, it's Niflgaard, but I stil want to) and from Beauclair to Attre and from Attre to Lan Exeter again. Yes, it will be huge, but I want it. Remember, the goal was for people to immerse themselves, to live in those games. This is what I want! Give us horses, fast travel options... Introduce something like a horse-cart that's parked near every town, and that can take you from town to town for those who want to zap around in the world. But for those with wanderlust, let them walk! Oh heck, I'm willing to compromise on this, give me regions! But make them twice as large as the regions from Witcher 2.
And more cities and towns!!! I want to be able to explore them! Give me some "assassin's creed" kind of climbing and jumping physics, I want to be able to in and on every tower, house and building! I want to EXPLORE!!!!
Kvir also getting colder due to Sapkowski canon. Might be time to bust out bear school gear. Coin looks more like a gateway like Elden Ring's Divinity Gate (just the shape). Might be interesting if we are sent by Ciri to other worlds to do Witchering.
Sebastian Kalemba is a close friend of my dad, he told my dad, that the script for the new witcher, is incredibly exciting and it will be an even more epic adventure than the one shown in the Witcher 3, unfortunately no details he did not say, but I believe him, that he will be able to surpass witcher 3 and yes, gwent will return
The rock formation on the coin made me think of the Ard Gaeth immediately, which are sort of gates between the worlds that the Aen Elle have lost control over and that Ciri is supposed to give back to them. When reading the books I always imagined the Great Spiral connecting the worlds to be kind of like Yggdrasil and these "sun rays" on the coin or whatever they might be reminded me of these connections (branches of the world tree). I can imagine that W4 will have something to do with the Cromlechs that are mentioned in the books, potentially the Ard Gaeth and almost definitely with Ithilinnes Prophecy since it is a reoccuring theme both in the books and games.
A bit of old info in this video. The full production dev team is now 400 as 10 pre-production devs have moved over to Cyberpunk Orion. Full dev time is probably going to be closer to 3 to 5 years.
No way, even Nowakowski (CEO) said, that time to create the game (conception phase, pre-production and production) is between 5-6 years, and they started conception phase in 2021 and pre-production in 2022.
There is an Unreal Fest 2024 talk by CDPR which indicates the final game is likely 3 years away. Add polish & bug fixing & that’s 4 years. I’m hoping for sooner but would rather it later than rushed & broken at launch.

Possible technical issues aside, my main concern with W4 is the engine change. I worry that it won't have the same vibes and look in the country. Grass and trees looked great in W3 and I fear they'll just look too photo real and generic in Unreal
what does the writing of the coins say? I'm genuinely curious. most coins can tell you a lot about when they were minted and where. please someone translate it!
All devs can have different definitions of pre-production and production. CDPR did some clarification of this on the investor call when questions were asked. Two interesting things (you can check this out on the CDPR IR UA-cam/website): 1. They said that they think from the time a game first starts (just starts being worked on period) they average/estimate about 5-6 years before it is completed. They also would not tell the investors the date that The Witcher 4 kicked off as it would have led to guesses on a release date. 2. They noted that during pre-production they put together all of their tools and game systems. They also noted that they tested it all by building a slice of the game to verify that it all works - so there is part of The Witcher 4 that is currently playable. All that is left now is just building out the rest of the game. I think you could argue that The Witcher 4 really kicked off after the release of Cyberpunk in 2020 (it was December, so more realistically 2021). So if the information they gave above is accurate then the earliest we are likely to get the game is holiday 2026. With the new engine, their desire to make two more installments that release in three year intervals and the difficult Cyberpunk 2077 launch I tend to think that 2027 or 2028 is more likely though. I think the people saying something like 2030 are crazy though. There is no way CDPR goes ten years between major game releases. It is already pretty wild the game is already going to come out 6-8 years after their last major release.
@@ransom-- according to the GoG page and some voice actor, there are hints of late 2025 A bit optimistic but if they have started early and have many experiences UE devs, could be possible, but I think 2026
2028 ? that is way too long even for cdpr. ONly rockstar can rly go this long without any new game and still have moeny for whole studio teams. CDPR needs money bec they are still growing ( just started new studio in US for cyberpunk)
3:05 - I agree with the idea that the game should be as big as possible. Simply because I'm tired of replaying "The Witcher 3" over these 9 years. I've replayed it dozens of times. And, to put it mildly, I'm tired of it. But I still haven't found anything comparable in quality in a similar setting. In other fantasy games, either the world is completely lifeless, or the hero is faceless, or the gameplay is too specific. "The Witcher 3" is great, but it ends, unfortunately.
I hope they go with another Conjunction plot so there is a reason for witchers to exist again, it kinda always felt off that geralt is a relic of a bygone age and most of the cool monsters are extinct. Hopefully it also leads to political turmoil since the world is basically consolidated by nilfgaard now, these 2 issues always felt off to me. Would also be interesting for them to let you innovate the craft of ... Witcherism? like build the school and find now mutations/formulae
I think the coin is depicting monoliths and a new conjunction event. This has to happen, either as a new event or as a prequel to Geralt's story. But we know Geralt is in the game, so it can't be a prequel (although I think this would have been so epic to go back to the beginning of the Witchers). Either way, all hell needs to break loose to justify another Witcher saga.

I love to hear that they're in full production but they have been for longer than they let on to people that's the key but you have to think there's only two factors you need to keep in your head when it comes to making a game and how long it takes how many people are working on it and are you using unreal engine 5 if both are a yes then you can make a game in just a few years seriously it doesn't take that long not only does unreal engine 5 make things look better it cuts down by over half the development time just buy the technology and the tools that it can provide you
03:05 I need to rant, not at the uploader (thank you for the material, as always its brilliant): How can someone be unable to leave Velen? I hope they don't dumb it down for the dumb because that would exclude the group who is able to leave Velen.
Also on a side note if cdpr is working with Netflix then we're simply all screwed those people will not listen to fans they don't care they're part of this negative stuff that's going on if that's true that concerns the hell out of me The Witcher 4 must succeed where everything else has failed they cannot allow anybody from these corrupted corporations to come into their team not one person or everything goes to crap
The Witcher is great but I (don't crucify me here) am not the biggest Geralt fan. I would much rather create my own character. But, knowing how most RPG's are made these days * cough * Veilguard * cough *, maybe it's better they keep him around.
My sincerest hope is that Witcher 4 (or whatever they end up naming it) has the same level of replayability as Witcher 3 has. I lost count of how many run throughs I did, making different choices, or doing things in a different order. And then several years of watching others experience the game for the first time on streaming platforms. The level of detail CDPR put into making so many tree branches of a story intermingle was truly a genius of the hard working variety. Wondering if Witcher 4 will have DLCs too. I might not live long enough to experience a Witcher 5 and 6 considering how long these games take to develop. Edited to add that I despised everything about the Netflix show and am hoping CDPR distances themselves from it as much as possible... including that awful coin song. The composer in the games is so much more talented and culturally authentic than the DEI Netflix composer. The netflix music score was trash. Even moreso than the hag face of the Netflix Triss.
Personally I’m hoping for an early 2028 release date, maybe that’s cautious but it feels more realistic to me than 12-36 months. It took 5 and a half years between Witcher 3 and cyberpunk and that came out wonky so they would definitely delay before having another bad launch
The story or gameplay time will not necessarily be longer. When they say they want each new game to be bigger and better than the previous one, they mean in ambition and technological achievement, not hours of play. It is a fact that Witcher 3 was way too long and loose in the 2nd act and too hurried in the 3rd; on the other hand Cyberpunk's main story was way too short (but I still have over 300 hours in 2 gameplays). So they will go for around 30 hours of main story imo with side quests like Cyberpunk but hopefully better integrated with the main stories and with a more living world
@@maxlamee5149 to each his own I too like getting lost in the world of the Witcher 3, but personally i prefer the tighter main stories of Witcher 2 and Cyberpunk Also not enough time these days
Phantom Liberty had good pacing narratively. I think it's probably a good example of their idea going forward: tight bombastic main story with occasional lulls where you're encouraged to experience side content.
@@kaushalsuvarna5156 I certainly get the time thing, but I like stories and I think the bread and butter of the Witcher games has been the story. I really don't mind if it takes me a while, I don't need instant gratification for finishing it. I find it pretty dumb when you can play through a game in a couple weekends which is common because everyone wants that quick dopamine hit with no patience. Hopefully Elder Scrolls can fill that niche of a lot of side quests and a rich world without a big central story.
@@maxlamee5149 i don't have any issues with spending months, i have spent years playing Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk too, and I have no issues with the side stories and even side-side stories and even gigs in both games My issue is the pacing goes and the second act just dragged and meandered (even tho I enjoyed it moment to moment) and consequently the third act had to be butchered (see how bad they messed up the actual villains, indeed the title of the game, and especially Dijkstra's character in the end) To say nothing for other cut content, or a functional economy that they could have worked on instead

Still sad about one developer hinting that Temeria would be a nice choice as a region. Literally the worst i could imagine since it has the basic Biotope of Witcher 1,2, AND 3 instead of Korath Desert + Zerrikania + Haakland /// Kovir+Poviss+Hengfors League /// Southern Nilfgaard + Ofier + Dol Blathanna and some subterranean dwarf empire
Agree. It kinda a shame Witcher 2 and Thronebreaker are the only ones it's not a main area. I'd heard something similar about them wanting to use Temeria however I heard that they weren't doing that because the W1 remake is scratching that itch (I hope). I assume they'll stick with the Northern Realms for the main games, then DLCs and Spin-Offs could explore beyond those realms. You know, they can take more risks than the mainline ones. Feel like that's how they typically do it
No one wants anything to do with the Witcher TV shows. I'm also not happy about Geralt not being the main character. I'd rather have Geralt and Triss on a new adventure in Kovir.
Do you (by you I mean them the studios) actually bother to talk to people that play real games? When they get comments like “”oh the game is too long!”” or “”I didn’t even finish the first part of the story”” I mean I accidentally sequence braked the game skipping part of the quest to find Yen as I was like ok the main line quest wants me to go other there to talk to people to find Yen so I’m going to avoid that place like the plague and explode everywhere else first, some exploration later and I accidentally triggered the bit where we (Geralt and Yen) are been chased by the wild hunt, it’s a double edged sword as on the one hand I did miss some quests but on the other it’s always a pain if you run into someone and they won’t talk to you because you haven’t done the lead in quest. If your experience of daily gameplay is ten minutes (I’m been snarky here most mobile games stretch out that time to like an hour or more) on the phone to do your daily’s then log off that’s probably not the person to ask about a deep story rich game, if I want to know what the best cheese is I wouldn’t ask a wine expert (though they may be able to help they won’t know as much as the cheese guy).

3:00 "game too long or they couldn't get past the Velen section of Witcher 3" omg, I really hope CDPR doesn't make the game while trying to cater to the stupidest 4% of the players, lmao (I say 4% cause Witcher 3 has a 96% positive rating on Steam), utter madness that would be!
they shortened the main story for cp77 and still managed to be less of an RPG than the witcher 3 😭

And the Ursine armour sucks.
Griffin and Feline are the best.
thanks, I'm bad with spelling, and i tried those armor sets, and I don't like them. I personally think the bear armor set is the best, and I personally think it looks the best
@Captain.B.Fang572 Those armours are by far the best.
Griffin is a balanced between sword and magic while Feline is built for agility and speed.
Urine is only good for heavily builds.

Would be a lifeless character with little to no backstory, I’d prefer an established Witcher written by CDPR
Thoughts?
TIME FOR A NEW ANALYSIS VIDEO!
Brother, I'm more interested in the inscription. It looks like Elder Futhark runes. I tried to translate the ones visible and it looks like the end of the inscription says:
"... remains the same"
What remanins the same?
Guess we'll have to wait for the reveal of the other side of the coin.
Quality remains the same
Almost looks like a cave or sea-cave opening. I love your conjunction theory though. It would be cool as hell to deal with the unseen elder. I'm also hoping Gaunter is back in some form
I think it's interesting that the coin itself is being eclipsed as well as there being another eclipse within the coin. Definitely plays into the "Conjunction of the Spheres" theory, but makes me wonder why such an event is being depicted in a coin to begin with
Project Sirius is the Witcher 1 remake
Teaser at the Game Awards
I hope so
The rock formation on the coin made me think of the Ard Gaeth immediately, which are sort of gates between the worlds that the Aen Elle have lost control over and that Ciri is supposed to give back to them.

I definitely think they’re going to conjunction of the spheres route especially since it occurred in the final stages of the Witcher 3’s main story. I would love to see some of the other Witcher schools and how they’ll fit into this new story.
When we know that The Witcher 4 is coming with Unreal Engine 5, and when we see some of the demos that people have made with UE5 and posted online, we really get excited about what kind of graphics this game will have when it's released
And the legend returns
I hope this time CD Project will release mod tools with the game, we would have tons of mods for witcher 3 (not like we haven't now) with official mod tools
I really really like the idea of the new Conjunction of the Spheres as the main plot point for the new Witcher trilogy.
@@silmarlfan1 "...remains the same" as per one comment here
All devs can have different definitions of pre-production and production. CDPR did some clarification of this on the investor call when questions were asked.
Two interesting things (you can check this out on the CDPR IR UA-cam/website):
@@ransom-- according to the GoG page and some voice actor, there are hints of late 2025

Make a video over the trailer!! I’m sure you’re already working on it, but just throwing that out there
I hope they go with another Conjunction plot so there is a reason for witchers to exist again, it kinda always felt off that geralt is a relic of a bygone age and most of the cool monsters are extinct.
Geralt being in game doesnt mean much, He can be a narrator or part of one quest dream etc.
I wonder how long it'll be delayed to remove any connection with SBI 😂
Those symbols on the coin kind look like hands holding some sort of stone or something to me. You can see three fingers on each ''hand''

CDPR WORKS WITH NETFLIX ONLY FOR CYBERPUNK ANIME
The Witcher is great but I (don't crucify me here) am not the biggest Geralt fan. I would much rather create my own character. But, knowing how most RPG's are made these days * cough * Veilguard * cough *, maybe it's better they keep him around.
I dream about upgrade/create and customize your weapons instead of loot mechanic.
It looks like the rocks you go through to the Isle of Mists - has anyone considered this?
I personally want to see the remake of witcher 1
@@serbobertross5948 they have many more devs now on UE, so might be much quicker
According to some rumours Dec 2025 or before
The story or gameplay time will not necessarily be longer.
So they will go for around 30 hours of main story imo with side quests like Cyberpunk but hopefully better integrated with the main stories and with a more living world
I have to respectfully disagree.

@@maxlamee5149 i don't have any issues with spending months, i have spent years playing Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk too, and I have no issues with the side stories and even side-side stories and even gigs in both games
My issue is the pacing goes and the second act just dragged and meandered (even tho I enjoyed it moment to moment) and consequently the third act had to be butchered (see how bad they messed up the actual villains, indeed the title of the game, and especially Dijkstra's character in the end)
To say nothing for other cut content, or a functional economy that they could have worked on instead
Everyone is looking at the one coin and ignoring the others in the pile, they are all different. And then calling them a coin... are they? One would expect a pile of coins all in the smae metal would have the same images on them. Theres another round metal objects with art on them... medallions.

I don't know... it's a coin, it should have something notable or important depicted on itself, but we see few rocks and the partially eclipsed sun, just the later is interesting, but it's not something people in the witcher would like to heave depicted on their money. imho it's not a real coin (nothing we could pay with in the witcher), but it's a medallion or something else or just a "tease coin"

Feel like that's how they typically do it
Depends. It could be 50 years after witcher 3 for all we know or 200 years before witcher 3. Temeria would be very diffrent in either case
