This NY Comic Shop hates SLABS! -- HAVEN FOR HEROES | Port Jervis, NY

- This video is about HAVEN FOR HEROES, in Port Jervis, New York. They have Funko Pop, Trades, games, and comics. They do not like slabs and this is the second store I've encountered with that opinion. The other one was Kevin Smith's shop "SECRET STASH". Do you guys like encasing comic books, or should they be free to breathe?
I look at some back issues and observe other collectibles. I was in the area and decided to swing by this shop. I've never been here before. I filmed this in December 2023.

For me at least, slabs are meant for Golden and Silver age comics that are rare and in a condition worth preserving. Slabbing a modern comic no matter how valuable is stupid and artificially drives up the value of those comics. I have a Venom #3 and Darth Vader #3 and I refuse to get them slabbed because I want to be able to read them whenever I want and not on a computer screen.
Fair enough. Collectors in 2024 might share your opinion.

I don't get all the hype with Peach Momoko art. It's average looking to me.
Yeah, they are all kind of average. Sometimes they're fun looking.
Peachs art is terrible in my opinion. Mostly It looks like she spilled her drink on the paper and swirled it around

Im with them. Its almost like its a separate hobby from collecting comic books. They seem more of a status symbol for folks.

Other channels are using the same sound bites? Which ones, I’ll cut them back.
@@RockPaperXcissors I would have to rewatch the video to tell you specifically (I can remember you used too many Trump clips) but in general (as a rule of thumb) I'd say punctuating your video with an outside source should be unique to you, your tastes, hobbies, sensibilities etc such that it gives your channel a unique flavor. A perfect example of this is Ranton's video game reviews: ua-cam.com/video/CRYBly2eIwk/v-deo.html. If it's the same thing everyone else is using it lessens the overall quality or interest in what you're doing.
