PSA: If you get a god roll with Hard Launch and Implosion Rounds, DON'T DELETE IT. This roll will actually deal slightly more damage than a Spike Grenades + Hard Launch (Hard Launch is the best perk). Pretty much, you just want your blast radius as low as possible with or without Spike Grenades. Happy farming!
I have the god roll except hard launch. My best barrel is Countermass. I have a choice between spike grenades or implosion rounds. Since I don’t have hard launch is it better to use implosion rounds to bring my blast radius to 90 or should I just keep spike grenades on which was my original plan?
What's the lowest blast radius that has dropped? One of the worst options is a GL with blast radius as the control parameter AND a value of 100 for blast radius from the start.
okay so no one is talking about impulse amplifier for general PVE play, I personally think its amazing for that massively increased velocity especially if it has hard launch and max velocity on top of that, but also impulse amplifier gives you double reload bonuses with +20 reload and 0.85x grenade launcher reload animation speed so it basically gives you near lunafaction level reload speed with just base reload stats. I think it's absolutely amazing for general play

I didn't really play with any wellocks or titans the majority of when mountaintop and recluse were at there peaks it is was the best in slot for damage especially since many of the good damage dealing weapons weren't as strong as they are now.

Yes, the mountaintop is effective as a cheese weapon. I use incinerator's snap and sunbracers to kill enemies with just a grenade and a snap and get 4 solar grenades for it. Blast jumping lets me get in range for an incinerator's snap. While it isn't the best pvp loadout, it is certainly VERY fun.

My first run this week I got sticky nades and spike nades, auto loading and overflow, and vorpal and harmony! Harmony is slept on especially with auto loading
I got the same roll and can say hands down overflow in the right content is incredible with harmony. You can dump 2 shots in a row that out damage a full stacked recombination shot, and it lasts for 8 seconds allowing for a total of 5 shots of 120% damage. With enhanced it will be 6.
I've personally found a mountain top with auto loading and recombination to be pretty good with dragons breath in onslaught, you shoot a rocket at a high traffic area and you could get a few recombination shots off because how many ads DB kills and how fast it does so. It's also pretty good in the boss fights since you can stick a rocket to the boss, and get more recombination stacks whenever ads get close to the boss (which is almost always)
Auto loading holster and harmony is an insane combination. With how many ads are present in every single game mode, it's not a hard perk to proc. So you can maintain the 20% damage buff permanently.
Thats exactly what im saying i got the same roll and the one i wanted from the start everyone is sleeping on this plus 15 handling and if you have a handling masterwork like i do it gets maxed out
@@KushCloudzz21idc too much about the handling because it already swaps fairly fast but yeah, people are definitely going to be sleeping on this perk combo. The best thing about recombination is that it will give you the damage no matter how long you wait how far away from enemies or how small a group you kill it's going to be a damage buff
dont underestimate impulse amplifier, it also gives bonus reload to gls. Makes it great if you're using it with frenzy as your main damage weapon if you're using dragons breath for example.
i got one with auto loading Vorpal, and yes, vorpal is def not the best in 4th slot but it is still very nice to be able to consistently swap to it and just fire a shot off at a major enemy. I think for most content AL/Ambitious Frenzy is going to be my go-to playstyle wise. If you are a super energy primary heavy kit then recomb is probably fine, but for boss damage its gonna be lacking (overall damage-wise) after the 3rd shot in your rotation.
I think that's the roll I'm going to look for. Paired with a Bait & Switch heavy, should be perfect. Maybe a Impulse Amp & Vorpal roll to pair with Anarchy.
I don't have the roll yet, but i think one you overlooked is demo/frenzy. You have frenzy giving you extra damage against all targets plus a reload boost. Demo gives you grenade which should stack with the origin trait, and it will only get better once we can enhance it. It should overall be a nice add clear and single target damage roll to look out for.
i got a hard launch, spike/sticky grenades, ambitious assassin and recombination roll, and im pretty happy with it honestly, i like having the big damage buff from recombination and then shooting a second time to finish a champion or beefy target
For the dps test you should try auto loading vorpal MT, auto loading vorpal wilderflight with apex/edge transit. I feel like the dps rotation would go so hard
My favorite roll by far out of the many Ive tried is Ambitious Assasin and One for All. Cross talks about being able to do half of a champs health with Recombination in legend onslaught but using Mountaintop as a primary in onslaught basically always has Ambitious AND OfA procced. When a champ comes up. You have two shots loaded back to back for a champ that does far more damage than any sort of recombination shot and deletes several champs and majors back to back. You don’t have to worry about missing your recom shot and every enemy is getting hit with a 35% buffed GL shot which will reproc Ambitious and OfA AGAIN. It’s just so powerful.
I have over 1000 kills on this mountaintop already as it was a 7/5 godroll that I was looking for and I am not disappointed and it will by far outclass any special I use. My issue with wave frames has always been not being able to deal with majors and big health enemies. This roll I’m talking about is the absolute best of both worlds
Ofa is useless against single targets though. You'll never have it up 100% of the time and the timer also means that if you're going into a fresh engagement, you have no buff. Recomb saves so much ammo in terms of shot for shot damage, and doesn't go away until you fire. It all boils down to preference, but I'd rather take frenzy over OFA on this gun. Even with blast radius maxed, it's not very big, and so not as reliable as I would like.
@@chuckleshelicopterwigwamjo6305Yes that is why I said OFA procced 99% of the time. You go into a fresh engagement where normal ads usually spawn, proc OfA and Ambitious very easily with one shot. Then when a big target EVENTUALLY shows up, shoot both shots and it does much more damage than a single recombination shot. Usually kills them, which proccs ambitious again. And like I said if you accidentally miss a shot, the only penalty is having to reload one more shot that still has OfA procced rather than no extra damage+reloading another shot. If there is one single target, most of the time, it usually a full blown boss. Not a major or anything like that. Even if it was a major, I’d just use a single heavy shot for that one single target. But like I said that rarely happens.
What if weapons played into our class abilities? Like you said, some weapons reload behind a barricade when you stay there for 3/4 seconds. Or weapons in a warlock rift heal allies in (5/10 meters) for a chunck of dmg or ability energy. And when hunters dodge they drop a (elemental pickup) for allies and themselves with certain weapons equipped. Like titans would get autos. Smgs. Shotguns Warlocks wiuld get.pulses/scputs and snipers or trace rifles And hunters get fusions. Swords/meelee hand cannons and sidearms?
I'd also like to point out demolitionist on mountaintop, sucession, and theoretically new forbearance will give you about a third of your grenade back on a kill. Ive been running contraverse vortex's to suck everything in and weaken then mountaintop the pile to get it back
I think in PvP I'd recommend it to anyone who likes the zoning tool potential of witherhoard but wants to use an exotic energy or heavy, but otherwise it's a bit lacking.
My first mountaintop drop yesterday was smart drift control/implosion rounds/auto loading holster/vorpal weapon with a reloading masterwork, haven’t used it yet but hopefully it’s good
There isn't a primary slot and energy slot, it's primary ammo and special ammo. The primary ammo guns do 20%, special does 15%, and heavy 10% I believe.
11:49 i understand the comparison here but i don't entirely like it, specifically because they're in different slots and there are a ton of cases where it'd probably be worth more to build into either your subclass or active modifiers rather then having slightly better add clear, especially if you're already rocking an energy weapon like sunshot, or gaviton lance, or even like zaoli's with exsplosive/incandescent, or ros argo with something like repulsor/destab, the argument is fair enough if you're using arc or a darkness subclass. but i think a fairer overall comparison is why not use it over tusk of the boar, yeah it had issues dropping when iron banner came around but after you got one you could focus it and i feel like i was getting enough engrams that it was actually easier to get a good roll of tusk then it is to get that specific mountain top roll, not to mention i feel like tusk just has a fair amount more synergistic perk combos then mountain top, primarily because it's not really trying to do 2 things in the same perk pool where as mountaintop feels like it's trying to do 4, and if you're concerned about enhancable perks tusk is also becoming enhancable. And if we wanna look past ease of access a little why use it over new pacific epitaph? Sure it's a little harder to get but i feel like the first encounter of ghosts is fairly reasonable to solo with a good build, and far as i know it has a better add clear perk pool as well, only edge mountaintop has over it for that purpose is it's guaranteed to be enhancable with TFS while we can't say with absolute certainty that NPE will, either way both of these i feel like are much more solid comparisons because they are in direct competition for the slot and they can also build into subclass verbs and stuff. And all this isn't to say mountaintop is bad, it's definitely gonna be a damn strong option for a different purpose, i just feel like it's comparing kinetic apples to energy oranges, and there are also probably a lot more kinetic add clear weapons i'm forgetting about but i tried to limit this to just GLs for the sake of having as close to a completely fair comparison as possible.
can we please talk about the fact impulse amplifier is a velocity multiplier, so if you have 100 velocity stat it will effectively give it 135 velocity.
an underrated perk ive noticed is impulse amp for mountaintop. I do still think ALH is the god roll but impulse feels very nice to use bc it gives +20 reload.
I'm really glad the video touched on perks speed runners use . I learned alot watching people like Aegis Relic and even though I don't speedrun being a little more optimal just helps the game play easier for me. Part of what makes this channel interesting is it's ability to bring niche perspectives onto mainstream. W video.
The other day i learned that Ambitious assassin doesn't cap the ammo at two. I was farming kills on shuro chi and ended up getting 3 in the mag because i killed a big group of thralls with one shot. Although it isn't easy to do without setup.
I’m going to go for an ALH and Recombination roll because I really want it for rocket jumps and the recombination is a nice perk to go along with my ikelos smg
I personally really like envious and recombination. I usually just "prime" it by killing a red bar and then I can get the two quick shots off on tougher enemies. Even better if I end up killing them since envious will then be ready for the next time. I do want an ALH and recombination, but the game refuses to drop that roll for me
Actually implosion rounds is a slightly higher damage increase that spike grenades as long as you don't have a blast radius masterwork. You really want to look for hard launch, implosion OR spike, as they're very close, and any masterwork other than blast radius.
I feel like it might be good with an amplifier/bait and switch when running with dragons breath. Fire off a DB shot, clink for a sec with your energy, then just unload as much as you can until your DB's back up, rinse and repeat.
First one I got was Impulse amplifier, recombination. I’ve never used recombination and I was throughly impressed. Almost one shot an unstoppable in Onslaught
Damage note: Being a kinetic weapon, Mountaintop receives a damage bonus compared to the other weapons shown here 12:35. It’s definitely really good and Auto-loading + Recomb is the roll I’m going for. Just that double-fire GLs aren’t really that far off. But if we get an energy variant, its damage will be more in line with others.
I managed to snag a shiny with Ambitious/one for all. I love the easy damage proc from shooting a group then immediately having two in the chamber. My only problem with recombination is that you have to stow the weapon to build up the perk when you could just be shooting more grenades.
Mountaintop being a kinetic slot means it's really competing with lingering dread, wither hoard, or even the new strand wave frame because I almost always run energy primaries and special kinetics. I want an autoloading role mainly but would definitely take ambitious. I do love lingering dread though with auto and chill clip.
Honestly having an infinite combo for ability kills with Mountaintop with the prismatic subclass sounds like the best combo. You get recombination for higher burst damage on a single target for mopping up the room of adds with infinite combos. You could run Parasite for another burst damage single target. Both of these are benefited by Kinetic damage boosts and will build the meter for another burst of damage that scales with add density. And then super can be used for a 4th damage burst while still mopping up adds. You do notably have to hold parasite to build the kills with abilities otherwise they do not count normally and this makes keeping track of mountaintop recombination easier. Every ten kills you swap to Mountaintop and shoot something before going back to your normal combo rotation with parasite. Then at 20 drop parasite bomb and a Mountaintop recombination shot.
I mean I think, a build with mountaintop sticky nades + trip mine grenades + proximity knife + bombadiers or calibans hand could be spicy, bait some to come around a corner to 2 sticky nades, and a trip mine not including the knife and dodge bomb if you choose to go either exotic.
This has been my favorite weapon from the brave arsenal as all other weapons already have a better variant except for the heavy GL. You want to zoom before shooting and with a little practice you'll get the hang of it. My roll is auto-loading recombination.
I was blown away how powerful one for all was on mountain top. In legend onslaught without any mods I one tapped a yellow barred night on round 10 and my clan mates were laughing asking what just melted that miniboss
correction, Ambitious assassin CAN hit 3 in the mag with breach loaded grenade launchers, But the kill requirement is so high for the time frame you have that it is very unlikely. But it is still possible because I have had it happen before.
BTW ambitious assassin isn't capped at 2. When enhanced, if you get an insane high number of kills (not often) you can get 3. Just a little tidbit of info.
I know there are those saying mtop isn't going to be good in pvp but think about it, it is a special weapon bow that does near the same dmg as pre nerfed precision bows. This thing can become a hotswapping beast like it was during season of arrivals just without the oneshot kill but that doesn't matter, this thing is a primer and movement utility. I will be having my safety bunker ready for when the mtop swap meta returns because its not a matter of if, only when
Landed a shiny variant hard launch, spike, auto load, recombo roll and I don’t think I’ve ever been as lucky as getting that drop. Secondary perks are impulse and OFA
If you use mountain top for moving around maps I pvp on Sola warlock it's actually pretty good if you're into moving around quick and being harder to hit
I feel like Harmony is being really undervalued on this weapon. I feel like in the way I used to play MT in PvE that was the loop. Kill a bunch with Recluse and then switch over to MT. Harmony is +25% and you will be proccing pretty much every time you pull it out.
overflow harmony is the roll im searching for even before enhance its stronger then recombination. it is a bit more situational but it seems really strong plus the handling bonus is nice.
Impulse feels the best on this thing imo, it might just be my shiny roll with reload mw but it can hits scan at crazy distances & reloads like a dream, don’t sleep on impulse
Bungie with win after win has been wild. While I am personally seeing the day 1 raid date as an L, because I can't get off work that weekend but the following I was free, I do think it will be more healthy for the day 1 since people will be more under leveled maybe?
Been trying to get the god roll for over a month. I just got it in a shiny version. Absolute banger of a roll. Hard Launch, Implosion Rounds Ambitious Assassin/Auto-Loading Holster - Vorpal Weapon/Recombination I'm so HAPPY
I want to add, MT is kinetic, so it benefits from that 10% extra damage than the other forms of GLs. These are the numbers when all GLs are kinetic MT: 59 367 Wilderflight: 53 594 Salvagers: 37 835 Forbearance: 32 050
Mountaintop might not be good for kills but I see it being used with Strand hunters to get some air and dive into unaware opponents without needing to use your grapple. Not that it was ever a requirement, but with the movement tech the archetype allows I'm certain we'll be seeing some pretty crazy clips abusing it in unique ways.

Smgs. Shotguns
Warlocks wiuld get.pulses/scputs and snipers or trace rifles
And hunters get fusions. Swords/meelee hand cannons and sidearms?
8:16 I LOOOOVE when the tormentors go off the map 😂
I just wanna say thanks for the fun informative videos you make. It takes me so many hours to punch the numbers to figure this stuff out
I'd also like to point out demolitionist on mountaintop, sucession, and theoretically new forbearance will give you about a third of your grenade back on a kill.
I’d argue that harmony is also a very good perk for mountaintop when you pair with auto loading holster.
My first mountaintop drop yesterday was smart drift control/implosion rounds/auto loading holster/vorpal weapon with a reloading masterwork, haven’t used it yet but hopefully it’s good
At 4:40 isn’t vorpal 20%? because it’s in the primary slot. I thought it was 10% heavy slot 15% energy slot and 20% primary slot
There isn't a primary slot and energy slot, it's primary ammo and special ammo. The primary ammo guns do 20%, special does 15%, and heavy 10% I believe.
@@Godless_Trail ohhh ok that makes sense thanks
I’ve been LOVING the auto loading, recombination roll
Got a Overflow, Recombination with Spike Grenades that I have been enjoying. Excited to enchance it.
Our little lights will never know the joy of Luna faction boots and mountaintop
Impulse and Frenzy is awesome. You fire like a machine gun. Quite a good roll that you could check out Cross
I’m going to go for an ALH and Recombination roll because I really want it for rocket jumps and the recombination is a nice perk to go along with my ikelos smg
The best rolls I got so far for PVE is auto loading with vorpal, But I’ve been using impulse amplifier with recombination
I personally really like envious and recombination. I usually just "prime" it by killing a red bar and then I can get the two quick shots off on tougher enemies. Even better if I end up killing them since envious will then be ready for the next time.
I do want an ALH and recombination, but the game refuses to drop that roll for me
So glad its back. The ease of use and fun of it will keep it in my kinetic slot for everything.
Recombination mountain top with sun shot has been my go to in onslaught
Made a Rocketjump build yesterday with the mountaintop. Polaris lance 100 mobility wings of sac dawn. Was super bored but the build fixed that
Damage note: Being a kinetic weapon, Mountaintop receives a damage bonus compared to the other weapons shown here 12:35.
Auto and recombination are pretty solid. Got that with a velocity MW and it’s shiny. Big W
Ngl impulse amplifier is growing on me, that increased reload speed just makes it feel so much better from the start
what brave arsenal gun is priority to farm godroll?
I mean I think, a build with mountaintop sticky nades + trip mine grenades + proximity knife + bombadiers or calibans hand could be spicy, bait some to come around a corner to 2 sticky nades, and a trip mine not including the knife and dodge bomb if you choose to go either exotic.
Babe wake up, Aztecross made a mountain top review 🔥
This has been my favorite weapon from the brave arsenal as all other weapons already have a better variant except for the heavy GL. You want to zoom before shooting and with a little practice you'll get the hang of it. My roll is auto-loading recombination.
Got my recombination auto loading with spike nades and its incredible paired with sunshot
I was blown away how powerful one for all was on mountain top. In legend onslaught without any mods I one tapped a yellow barred night on round 10 and my clan mates were laughing asking what just melted that miniboss
i mean that is at -5 power so its really nothing new.
Eh fair enough but either way I was impressed. Specially after having midly low expectations at first
@@daakiik7pickles830 It was also overcharged grenade launchers, so mountaintop was doing +25% extra dmg
All valid points. But I still had fun haha 😄
correction, Ambitious assassin CAN hit 3 in the mag with breach loaded grenade launchers, But the kill requirement is so high for the time frame you have that it is very unlikely. But it is still possible because I have had it happen before.
Off topic, but why does midnight coup feel so bad? Maybe it's just me, but I remembered it handling better.
Personally I find it great, got firefly ofa and don't think I'll be taking it off.
BTW ambitious assassin isn't capped at 2. When enhanced, if you get an insane high number of kills (not often) you can get 3. Just a little tidbit of info.
Yeah you need 15 kills to get 3 in the mag
Would overflow and recombination be the best for the mountaintop?
i got an ambitous assassin recombination roll with spike nades and have had a blast using it will be in my loadout forever its so fun
Autoloading, vorpal is great when it comes to damage phases with a B&S rocket
6:00 prok frenzy from the self damage while using it for movement tho ?
Got auto loading rebomb on a shiny MT yesterday with spike and hard launch, but a handling masterwork.
I have a question, so if I farm mountain top with a hard lunch and spike grenade, I do more damage by lowering the blast radius?
I know there are those saying mtop isn't going to be good in pvp but think about it, it is a special weapon bow that does near the same dmg as pre nerfed precision bows. This thing can become a hotswapping beast like it was during season of arrivals just without the oneshot kill but that doesn't matter, this thing is a primer and movement utility.
I will be having my safety bunker ready for when the mtop swap meta returns because its not a matter of if, only when
I just use auto loading with harmony and a sunshot/graviton lance depending on build. We ran through level 50 legend and it worked great
Landed a shiny variant hard launch, spike, auto load, recombo roll and I don’t think I’ve ever been as lucky as getting that drop. Secondary perks are impulse and OFA
FYI
Enhanced Ambitious Assassin gives 3 shots in the Mag. It is like this on Forbearance
Auto reload plus recombination has felt really good with my sunshot warlock
Will normal weapons be able to have enhanced perks? I don’t have it clear
Gonna go with autoloading+ recombination. While using recluse when I see a mini boss, MT will be a mini rocket launcher to clear the area.
Please make one of these for the recluse
Bungie with win after win has been wild. While I am personally seeing the day 1 raid date as an L, because I can't get off work that weekend but the following I was free, I do think it will be more healthy for the day 1 since people will be more under leveled maybe?
Now when do we get a micro missile frame on a heavy weapon
Been trying to get the god roll for over a month. I just got it in a shiny version. Absolute banger of a roll.
Hard Launch, Implosion Rounds
Ambitious Assassin/Auto-Loading Holster - Vorpal Weapon/Recombination
I'm so HAPPY
I want to add, MT is kinetic, so it benefits from that 10% extra damage than the other forms of GLs.
These are the numbers when all GLs are kinetic
MT: 59 367
Wilderflight: 53 594
Salvagers: 37 835
Forbearance: 32 050
Mountaintop might not be good for kills but I see it being used with Strand hunters to get some air and dive into unaware opponents without needing to use your grapple. Not that it was ever a requirement, but with the movement tech the archetype allows I'm certain we'll be seeing some pretty crazy clips abusing it in unique ways.
Got an auto loading/recombination roll last night and i dont see myself taking it off anytime soon.
I want mountain top for bait and switch with autoloqfing and vorpal and mountain top for over all with overflow and recombination
Plus the less blast radius you get the more damage you do
