they should just copy leagues system, different queues for solo players and 4 mans so its even for everyone who solo q's. and it basically guarantees you have to constantly be better than what you currently are to actually rank up. and then the people who do group up go against other people who are grouped up which gives them better games too

i hope for the campaign they have the krill. when i was a kid those things scared me in gow 1. sadly they didnt really branch off of that. different wildlife shit could be the icing on the cake for the campaign
I would love to have Beast Mode return, imagine what they could do with all the enemies they’ve added since Gears of War 3 came out. Also would love to see Overrun from judgment come back, as for PvP I’d love to see wingman come back. Also I started playing UE again and man I forgot how much fun that game is
8:25 I'm pretty sure Gears 5 used to have this at one point, not sure why they changed it. I specifically recall having to grind some season challenges to get a winter Del skin as the reward, this was like way back in maybe season 2. It was either winter Del or winter Cole
I like grinding and unlocking skins characters etc it feels way more rewarding than having to buy battle pass we already spend enough for the games the systems and not including Internet etc.

@nola7557 it's been what 15 years since movement was that slow I wasn't even old enough to hold a controller back then. Movement that slow is garbage just ask Gears UE

But gow 3 and gow 4 wanst really hard to learn compared to gow2 especially movement. A lot of people says oh gears 3 had peak on montages and content creators yeah because it was way easier to be good. Compared to gow2 there was very small percentage of people that could even wb the right way. For my preference I prefer a game that takes skill over a better movement than you learn in 30 minutes.
Yet I like movement its just way easier since gow3

Agree with everything man from the amazing trailer I hope they put that effort, feeling, energy, effort and time into the lore and campaigns like the old gows. This game has the potential to bring back all the gears fans and old vets to the game they have so much potential from eday I hope it’s good man if they can’t do this right then gears is lifespan is over.

I’m a simple man. I like to come home from work and get on some Gears whenever I can. Like you said, simplicity. Sticking to the roots we all know from the beginning. Gears is different to other games, so let’s not get drawn away from that by looking at what other games like COD and Fortnite are doing, there’s a reason OG Gears fans have stuck around! All I’d really like is:
• Do something to avoid where possible, solo queue players going up against stacked teams.
• Remove the annoying sound emotes that people spam all game as seen in this video 😅
• Find a balance between rewarding people based off skill/time invested into the game. Not all of us have the luxury of spending countless hours on Gears (as much as I’d like to). I’m still playing 5 and can’t play as some characters because at the time I didn’t get enough game hours in to unlock them within the time frame.
• Being subject to a melee / knife is just not fun, it’s more a cop out for missing your shot. Should absolutely be a delay between shooting your gun followed up by a melee. If anything, doing this should open you up to being punished by your opponent. This in the beginning of 5 was awful 😂
• Hate to say it but I don’t want to be going up against PC Players who clearly have an advantage. MNK for example. Once they get snipe or Boltok it’s game over. It should be down to how good of a player you are not how good your setup is. Even playing field.
• Gears is great because all players start off with the same default weapons. No fancy attachments giving you an edge, ‘the perfect loadout/weapon build’ you have to unlock by playing for longer. It’s how you use what you’ve been given. I always hated the customisation aspect of other games. Give me a lancer, gnasher, pistol etc and let me do the rest! Gears gameplay has always been the best for me and the movement is so unique and satisfying. Like it always has been, It should be down to individual skill with the basic weapons we’re provided and what we can pick up in-game!

yeah but what about PC players like me who only use Controller? lol they can put in crossplay and just implement input based matchmaking so you only go against people on Controller regardless of what their setup is.
@@Cmoondog1 Yeah that’s what I mean mainly the controller vs mnk thing! I’d like to have the option again to turn crossplay on/off. My brother has just recently moved to PC but still uses controller and says there’s a clear difference compared to his Xbox. I’m sticking with my Xbox tho!
@@jonnyboz I can see why people would feel theres a difference making the move from xbox to PC. Higher refresh rate, fps etc. But The Coalition themselves stated there is no actual difference in hardware/playing field back when they made the update to force crossplay on in Gears 5. You can also go back and read that article and you'll see im right. The "PC having advantage" is only true in pure aim mechanics on MnK. Other than that, its an even playing field. So introduce input based matchmaking, and problem is solved forever

Imo good ranked/ranked reward system is the number 1 priority. If Gears 5 had that I'd play the game all the time.
as gears of war fan since 2006 i totally agree with all of this points. ⚙⚙
The problem with open world being added to Gears of War and Halo was that those stories are like what you said, it's a ride. If we want an open world game we will bethesda games. The open world pulls you away from the main story long enough that the next scene doesnt hit as hard, Halo and Gears stories were so good because it was a constant progressive build up. It was always so full of emotion and the way those games built up it left you anxious for more. Oh and crossplay, pc players with crossplay enabled should be forced to use controller or they only get to play with other pc players.

I used to follow the pro circuit gears of war 4 and the pro league gears 5. I really hope the pro scene is strong with LAN events and big prize money again.
Im from Australia and my biggest criticism of gears is that there are too many games modes and therefore it can be really hard to find a game (even when searching o with a US host).
I would like there to be a just one quickplay search link, all the normal ranked links but also a “ranked any mode” search link so if you dont mind what mode you play but just want to find a match you can do that!
I think otherwise the more game modes, both quickplay and ranked, the more the players are divided into small groups and harder to find matches!
Also yeah gears 4 ranked system was good. I would also like to be able to turn cross-play off!
Also the POV should be locked and should look like gears 4! The games is so much better as you cant see around you or behind you as easily!
Whatever tuning they do, they need to stick with it. Gears 5 was fire at the end but that was after they changed the gnasher over 10 times.
I hope they don't put unnecessary items like bloodsplat banners emotes but executions I keep but actually having some crazy ones not goofy ones. Also like you said exclusive skins like gow3 I grinded for the impossible skin and that was hard asf and like the gold hunter and miner. Exclusive items use to have a presence and meaning like damn that guy actually grinded for that. Also, playing previous games to unlock other exclusive skins I thought was cool.

Not only do I want the campaign to return to the dark and gritty horror we had from GoW1, I want to be able to keep my weapons from the moment I pick them up all the way to the end of the game. I hated how all the other games would change my weapons in every act/chapter. If I wanna run gnasher and sniper for the entire campaign, let me keep it and swap it out on my own!

I liked gears 5 gameplay, found the open world a bit odd but it was welcomed because I like exploration, but what I didn’t like was there random ass shock factor choice with JD and Del. I chose to save Del because it felt different and I knew most would choose JD. I believe we should go back to the old movement but keep a lot of the mechanics we came to love.
My hope is that the campaign starts with UIR war coming to end, Marcus meeting Tai for the first time etc. and then suddenly, just when everyone hoped the peace time is starting again - guess what, the locust comes out of nowhere man. True tragedy, unknown enemy, people uniting no matter the color of the uniform to fight the locust
Solo queue, imo gears 4 and 5 wasnt bad (its taboo) but it brought new players to the franchise everything has to evolved so i cant wait to see the story from how g5 ended.
I am bias for Gears 1 because I grew up with it. Fuel Depot, Clock tower, Escalation, Mansion, Canals, etc. Fell in love with that game.

Completely agree about the storyline bro. I didn’t have the multiplayer experience growing up with the first 3 games but I fell in love with the storyline. To me, that is the most important part of the game. Also agree about the open world part, I was not a fan of it in Gears 5.
I want horror and gore, im not a psychopath, but it's what make gears of war what it is!
We need character customization. Even being able to shape how the face and skin looks ect. Different types of armor and clothes ect. Not to the point that people can make silly characters. But enough to look cool and unique
I think it's going to be closer to the first one the whole feeling and vibe. I think we will see the chainsaw lancer being made. The movement will probably be like 1-3 also just fine tuned. Im with you on playing and unlocking gear and skins etc. Rather than paying for it we already pay enough to play the games and buy the systems
There was a game mode in gears to where the team had to fight over and keep control of the stranded. Chaps would say the funniest sht after blowing someone’s head off it was so fun… can’t even remember the name of that game mode

I agree the game needs to be harder and more skill based like of gear of war it was a steep learning curve now with 5 it’s gone the less you can do the more chance you have winning a gun fight. They punish movement in gears 5 IMHO. As for game modes I’d like to see guardian or capture the leader gears 3 style.
a slower movement and lower damage on the gnasher for kind of a stun effect like in the first gears would be awesome. Like can't actually OS ppl except on a direct headshot of perfect reload, but when you hit close the faced player have a huge blood screen blinding or a small stun effect.
And the knife mecanics was designed around PvE with the 3 hit combo stun execution. Its a really good idea, but it dosent need to be a knife. The y could have have made the same thing with proper melee animation.

Campaign: I want a mix or horror elements and action, I want the scale of the invasion to be felt and emotional, I want to see young versions of
older characters.
Multiplayer: I want more city centered maps (schools/apartments/mansions, etc)
I want locusts to have more personality and better lines of dialogue, wanna see slower movement and a consistent shotgun
slower movement isn't good for the game though honestly, the begining of gears 5 had veryyy slow movement and people absolutely hated it

Weapon specific melee damage was so good. Why they ever strayed from that is beyond me. Also the larger weapons (longshot, bow) had a longer range as well.
This new knife melee crap is super inconsistent and if you're on stairs it will literally just kick ppl. 😂😂😂

i agree with a lot of these, but i kind of dislike when people exclusively say "dark and gritty," but instead should be changed to grungy and gritty
i think the first 3 games did this perfect, mixing grungy and gritty with every map, light or dark, with some examples being azura, pavilion, gridlock, and some others

I agree with most of your points. The only one I'm hesitant on is regarding all of the game modes. The more modes the more the population is fractured, a la Gears 5.
I want the multiplayer to feel like a mix of UE and 4s competitive tuning. No multiple tunings. No aim assist. The game needs to take skill and not be dumbed down. 100% the darker tones of 1 and 2 need to be brought back, especially for the campaign. None of this emote shit and dumb blood splatters. Give us cool skins to unlock through challenges/game modes then randomly have stuff in store for real money. That’s fine too and it will be a thing obviously. From what I’ve read I feel like the story will be fine. I’m truly worried about the gameplay. While 4 comp tuning was good, it had its issues. A lot of inconsistencies, but 5 was downright horrendous. I will say I personally love hitting Rxns and wraparounds so I don’t want them removed lol.
I agree they need to slow gears down a bit because every kill I get in This game isn’t satisfying anymore it’s TOO fast paced now it needs to play like gears 1, 2 and even 3 slow it down a bit make every kill feel worth something !

They do need to change the art style not the graphics the art style in five is more like clay if you look closer at it but I do believe e-day will have the best art style and colors in the series and I actually think open work would work better in the e-day because it’s within city limits and there’s a lot more they could do with a city the reason why 5 open world didn’t work is because there was nothing there it was empty and boring, and all we were doing was going back-and-forth e-day can work better because it’s tighter and the buildings are a lot closer, which means it would be way more linear, but still open think like New York with how the buildings are all close together but it’s open to a degree I also prefer the knife I just think they need to remove the aim assist on it I would definitely love to see a big team mode capture and defend type like overrun but bigger something like how battlefield does it just not that big

Tbh before I didn't think so however, seeing now the route TC and Microsoft are taking in terms of marketing for a future with the TV Show, Movie, and now E-Day I think it will come back I just don't know when.

It's more like gears 5 movement is way too light and smooth, when compared to 1-3 the movement had that heavy clunky movement. The slide speed is still faster in the older games though for sure.

I just want the movement to be very hard and extremely complex. To the point where its impossible to wallbounce on m&k and super difficult on controller. No defaulternate, no single stick, no scroll wheel, no nothining.
If u find someone hyperbouncing, that means he has no social life and u shouldnt fight him whatsoever.
I wish the gameplay could be simpler, but that would be too ez on m&k.
I dont like that the player base is not only split between quickplay and ranked, but then were split in ranked between like 12 game modes. I really hope they consolidate rank into like 4-5 modes, and pull an overwatch where the map is random and the game mode is random. Im tired of seeing the same maps be voted for..Let me play on something that aint district PLEASE! i know it aint gears but for competitive purposes i think it needs to change. And our ranks will show our skill across all game modes and maps.
2 things i want that maybe weresnt said is no female characters, having anya as control is ok, but as playable characters takes away from the immersion, gears is a brother hood game! And 2nd is a xplayer vs mode where you can fight using campaign/horde stuff (silver gorillas, brumarks, centaurs(the big vehicles from 2)
For me is good Campaign, smaller maps so you’re not running for a mile for a weapon or kill, no emotes, unlockable characters with no loot box systems, to buy other characters with cosmetic designs with in-game currency only (not premium currency), DLC map packs with characters included to make it worth it, AND NO CONSTANT INTERNET REQUIRED FOR OFFLINE TYPE MODES. I absolutely hated gears 4 for that.
Also cover need to work because getting shot over the cover is annoying.
Please. For the love of all that is good. Please don’t bring back gridlock… I’d rather see all original maps. Ones we haven’t seen before they start releasing classic maps

3.Banned the Cheaters There are still some walking around there today
4. I love Gears 5 movement but they are supposed to fix the shooting around corners and getting hits behind cover, also the fact that if you are behind cover you still get blinded is a joke
5. The delay and the eating of shots as well as the fact that every player does the same damage, every round for me it's me shooting air and the opponent with a bazooka
These are my main points
When it comes to Campaign imho quality matters over quantity. If they can deliver a 5 hour campaign that is fun and tight and tense they should do that. If they think it's too short than put in so postlaunch dlc story content.
What I didn't like about Gears 5 campaign was consistency. Act 1-2 would have been a great game on it's own imo. Kait's arc, having headaches, leaving the CoG to go off on her own and discover the origins of the Locust, that was all finished in Act 2.
But the story keeps going but it has nowhere to go from there. Act 3 sent you to the desert and felt padded out with a lot of backtracking. It doesn't give you any new information or present you with anything different. The sandstorms are annoying too.
Act 4 has two fun combat arenas and not much else. The choice you get generates some drama but doesn't have story consequences. Things happen the same way no matter who you pick so it's kinda fake.
Can we remark on how crappy a boss fight the kraken is? I mean he sucks the first time in Act 3 and having to fight him again in Act 4 is just the pits.
Imho the Coalition should have just given us Act 1 and 2 as the campaign and then put 3 and 4 as dlc with independent story arcs.
And this imho is the way they should approach E Day.
I 100% second what icy said do not rinse and repeat old map. New game should have 70% new maps 30% old maps. The game should come day 1 all new maps first for base multiplayer.
Horde: I hope there are iteration of horde. For example, if you want play classic gow2 gears with gow2 settings
Does anyone else feel like this might be a campaign only game with horde mode and stuff like that and separately we will get a gears of war BR with old school multiplayer similarly to what warzone is for call of duty? Games needs a new future and I’m wondering if that’s what it is

@@emanizzle I understand. I’m an OG gears of war player. But the way games are evolving if this game is going to survive it has to adapt and us as OG fans needs to adapt in a way as well. If they give us an old school multiplayer AND try the BR how can we be mad at that? Best of both worlds. We have to be open too for what’s best for the franchise
No Gridlock, Clocktower, Canals, Blood Drive, Mercy, Checkout (if these maps appear at all, I believe the game will die).
No re-skins of new maps (It felt really lazy in Gears 4 for Coalition to re-skin most of their original maps, then they put those re-skins in 5).

Since it's a prequel we should see the return of the Breechshot (biggest missed opportunity post-Judgment imo).
Allow Heavy weapons in multiplayer again (I miss cranking up a mortar to help secure an objective or another power weapon).

i assume when you say you dont like the graphics you are more referring to the art style rather than the fidelity and detail of the game. in which case i agree it feels cartoony and the movement and combat style mimics the art style in feeling cartoony. which also seems like thats what they were going for and they did a good job if that was the goal but i disagree with the airt direction. i hope for a supper dark and gritty tone with e-day, and i want them to not hold back with the story either i want to see some real f'ed up shit you know i wanna really feel how hopeless E-day was. so ya im hyped also i saw an article confirming the story to be linear so yay thats a win
